The RUF thread.

I'm assuming GT5 will have the CTR3

Here's hoping.

I love that car :)

There are no RUF variants of the Carrera GT are there? I know they offered a couple of bits for it, but they didn't offer a "model" based on that V10 right?

No. As far as I've seen, only Gemballa & TechART played with the Carrera GT.

If something along the lines of the good old "Racing Modification" is included in GT5, then I'm pretty sure we can get something like a GT3RSR out of a Ruf model. That would be sweet.

You couldn't race mod any of the Ruf's in GT2, it'd be nice if we could kit them out with racing body parts and a nice custom paint job and livery set.

Yes, I do. And that's the perefect example to show of what Porsche could be capable if they develop an LMP1.

But thanks for the precision, I should have done it myself.:)
But you made it sound like the LMP2 Porsche was able to beat the LMP1 cars because it was that good, when it can only beat them because of the regulations.

Off topic, but you do realise that the ALMS rules, which are different from the Le Mans rules, makes the LMP1 and LMP2 classes pretty much equal in pace? Bring the Porsche RS Spyders over to Europe, and they are slower than the LMP1 category.

The Porsche RS Spyders were able to cause headaches to the Audi R10s and other LMP1s in ALMS because most of the circuits used in the States were small and tight, allowing the lighter more nimble LMP2s to take the fight to the P1s because of there heavier weight. It's the opposite in Europe because a lot of the circuits are power/high-speed venues, favoring the P1 cars. I like the ALMS formula though, and have both P1 and P2 compete for the overall win.

IF GT PSP has all the GT4 cars, it doesn't mean GT5 will have them all. It means you'd have to unlock them from GT PSP. That's dumb.

(off topic)
i would pay 30 dollars for dlc that would just include the gemballa mirage gt:

in my opinion, this is the most beautiful car ever.

It's not just down to the circuits though as LMP2 cars in the ALMS are allowed bigger brakes (but I'm not sure what else.)

The LMP2 Spyders won at Sebring this year, and it's not exactly tight and twisty.

Yeah the R15 and the 908 demolished any other P1 or P2 cars.

Look at this ridiculous CTR-2 btw.

Let's hope they represent RUF to the fullest!

Agreed!

The E-Ruf concept - which is so decidedly retro Porsche meets high tech drivetrain.

And the Greenster - Also very retro Porsche with the soft window Targa.

How can forget about the stunning Studio Torino RK Coupe (with Ruf internals)

Was. It's been removed & remains as this.

Car was a pikes peak runner as you noted as well as a track machine. Car also appeared in several articles, & is one of the most famous Ruf's ever built.
