The 'September speculation' discussion thread? (No car suggestions)

I don't think GT Sport will ever feature visual upgrades like wings and splitters. Also, aftermarket steering wheels sound cool also but more realistically I think PD would bring back the aftermarket gauges from GT6. My guess would be that you could buy different gauges like a tach, temp, boost, etc. and in different colors from the Mileage Exchange.

I didn’t own GT6 so didn’t even know gauges where an option. But yeah, I’m trying to think of things that can be used on most models. Particularly road cars.

At least for GT Sport, if they added aero parts, they would need to be generic ones we can use on all road cars. Can’t expect them to model specific aero kits for each car. Maybe for GT7.

  • Metallic decals
  • Special colors on decals
  • Option to remove the Please Refuel warning
  • Test drive cars before buying them
  • Ability to share setups in Discover
  • Bleu Alpine
Test driving cars. I don't see how we get the same Arcade "rental cars" at the bottom. Either randomise them or make all cars available. Would make so much sense to try every single car in Arcade Mode, without buying them.

Crazy to think that we'll have to wait years for car customisation... I just want to put a simple spoiler on a car.
Kaz said no open wheelers, classic cars or GT mode. There's still hope...

By the way, TEN months later and still no weather conditions. I have some serious doubts.

CARAVANS!

Or at least the Lancia Stratos and Delta Integrale.

I think it would be interesting and fun to do caravan racing, especially since there are things like the 4WD rally cars and F150 in there. It introduces a new dynamic and new techniques to learn. Caravan racing exists in real life, and while they would probably have to turn penalties off for it, it would be a laugh hooking exotics up to a 3 berth plywood box.

I can see those two cars returning since both of those Lancias were premium on GT6.

:odd: Really? I've done a few liveries on that car and not come accross it. You sure you're not mixing it up with one of the cars in that class that has a solid panel rather than glass, like the Mazda?

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I meant that the stock livery on this car has painted rear window with a number and a banner. So it's possible. But when you do liveries for this car the unique rearwindow is gone.

👍👍👍 Exactly this!

In that case, most cars in the game have banners on the windows but they form part of the car's texture. Nothing's impossible, but I can see why they've elected not to allow it for now as you'd have people tinting the windows and making visibility bad.

I'd be happy with paintable banners at least, perhaps with the option to place a small sponsor decal.

The gauges update in GT6 was ultimately forgotten because it doesnt make sense for Gran Turismo.

I love frills like this but because this isnt real life and the car doesnt overheat nor do we care about oil pressure or oil temp. in a virtual environment then the only guages that are useful is tacho and speed.

Also I feel like people who use dash view is a dying breed. It feels like chase cam etc seems to be what the cool kids are using these days like in the Crew 2.

Whilst it may be great now we have VR (not tried it myself) but I always saw cockpit view as a "Look at what we're capable of!" gimmicky type of experience compared to the seriousness of bumper cam and the "look at the pretty graphics" of chase.

Opinions differ. I personally love playing in cockpit view, as it gives me the best sense of what the car is doing, and what its dimensions are.

-RAIN!!!!!

-Snow and more rally tracks, a rallycross track would be awesome as well;

-Split the Sport Mode in 5 classes of races per week/day, the majority of races are Gr. 3 and 4, and that gets stalling very quick, Gr.2 needs some love!

-Spa, Laguna Seca, Deep Forest raceway, Route X, Special Stage Route 11;

-A new F1 race car or the ability to paint and apply decals to the W08;

-Fully customizable HUD;

-Linear throttle imput;

-Non-static camera on cockpit view(for reference: Idle on the main menu for 5 minutes and see the demo, when the camera changes to cockpit view on it you can see its not static and points around the corners apex while turning, the game needs that badly)

Yeah, a non-static camera on cockpit view would be really nice. I mentioned it that it was in the closed beta. No idea why they changed it. I think, it was a cool addition and took Gran Turismo something of its "sterile" presentation. Agree with you with the other points.

The real question is, will we even get an update this month?

Usually we get to know it on the last weekend of a month. Therefore it would be next weekend. My guess: No. But I don't care cause I received F1 2018 today! :D

I looked throgh most of the thread and didn't see a couple of things I'd love to have added/modified (sorry if it was already mentioned)

Fix the bug where if you spin/get hit on the pit entrance you get moved outside of the pit entrance and you either have to do a whole lap with no fuel or go around and drive against the traffic. I'm sure it's not that hard for the software to understand that you are inside the pit entrance already.

Give us a choice of longer daily/weekly races. I'd love to have at least one race that is longer than 20 min, something more like the FIA Championship or even a little longer than that that we could race over and over again.

Give us back 24h races on Campaign mode. I used to love to race them in GT4/5/6. Or at least some longer races like 4/6/12h.

Let us change the gearbox ration on Sports mode. Or at least the last gear one. That would make a lot of cars much more fun to drive in most tracks.

I’m still waiting for voice in my private and public lobbies.

16 player grids and I can hear only 1/2 through the party chat system. Not ideal at all!

For the life of me I can’t reason why, in this day and age, it’s not in the game or wasn’t in the game to start.

Yeah on base ps4 they are or when you limit ps4 pro resolution to 1080p and choose frame rate setting under display settings in game...but when you play normally on ps4 pro and 4k tv then they are NOT there only mclaren 650s gt3 has them...
Why is that a thing? That's such an odd bug.

There is custom race mode for that if you really are that desperate to have those longer timed races.

And even then custom race mode AI is much better compared to GT League AI. Plus the ability to adjust the tire wear, fuel consumption, penalty settings, AI difficulty, etc.

I wish I knew the answer...it's there since February and it really annoys me a lot...

Its almost become a meme.

Since this game seems to be giving GT86 variants to everyone as dailys week on week there seems to be a lack of official events for it. The BRZ vs 86 vs that Gazoo version.

I was cruelly surprised about that. The 86/BRz race in Japan, is pretty big. As well as global 86 Series. Surely, PD are aware of its popularity.

I'd prefer a modern Gr. 4 GT 86 Campaign RACE, like the old AE86 N2 races. That's if we will never get n AE86 in this game.

I kind of think that an AE86 is almost a forgone conclusion. Its a slam dunk. They must know that they would release it to 100% critical acclaim and that being a Japanese cultural icon. Its almost inconceievable that this car isnt coming.

And yes, a GT86 vs AE86 events in both sport and leagues... and DRIFT.

This is why I never play GT League. So boring and "Early 2000". Unfortunately GT:S doesn't offer an option to save within a 24h race.
I just use GT League for this race at Blue Moon Bay Circuit to farm Credits and XP.

So guys,no news about the next update?........

Usually on the last weekend of a month. So maybe on Saturday or Sunday with a release on Wednesday (29th).

You and I are in the same boat. Whenever there's an update coming with new cars added, I just grind the Blue Moon Bay race to get enough credits to buy those new cars. And that's the only time I get to do GT League.

For me I just want them to give us the ability to use our cars for the custom race mode. I can't say much for the 24 hour race since I never bothered giving it a go plus too busy with life right now to even do a 24 hour race. :lol:

But yeah I don't mind them adding that feature. Save midway during a race if its that long.
