Rolling tobacco wise has anyone tried any of the Auld Kendal blends?

At the moment I've got Auld Kendal cherry and vanilla and mint menthol medium blend. The golden blends were too weak and offered little but no nicotine hit. Great flavours though nice to mix up between GV or Amber Leaf (my preference). The smell when lit is something else too, it smells like a sweet shop when I smoke and I always get compliments and people asking me what I'm smoking at college.

Might try the dark blend next.

Never seen that before, looks good though.

My favourite tobacconist was a little place down in Newquay, Cornwall called Johnny's. They might have a website. Their smoke selection was epic!

Just ordered a pouch of this French tobacco, supposed to be a stronger blend. Looking forward to it on Monday when it arrives.

Also ordered some more Auld Kendal but this time the medium blend instead of the golden blend.

Stay lit.

I was in a new bar/ restaurant along my road yesterday and noticed they had a menu for Shi Sha / Hookah along with many flavours of tobacco. I haven't tried it yet because it was just me and the missus and she doesn't smoke but I'm tempted to give some cheery flavour a puff if I can get some pals to come with me. Just 4 quid for a whole pack! I'm thinking of taking my own...erm...stronger version of garden invader. ;)

Shisha / Hookah is really nice and relaxing, my friend has a Hookah bar in town and we always go round there some evenings and smoke, if you get the chance try the orange flavour!

Making hoops and french inhales and other tricks is good fun too!

When I was a pre-teen I used to smoke grass. It tasted horrible so I didn't inhale, just huffed it and puffed it. I used to wrap the grass in newsprint. No one's lawn was safe. I even tried the Aussie Bluegrass from the cricket turf, but that tasted really horrible. Just a fancy name.

Well that's one way to start smoking I suppose.

Two months without smoking. Total savings, $360! It's not been a pleasure cruise though.

Holy bowl of petunias, well done!

That must be really tough. You're a stronger man than me, last time I got 3 days before giving in!

Fortunately cattle-fodder isn't addictive. Plus I started to feel a bit sheepish stealthily eyeballing every patch of grass I'd see. I think that phase lasted about eight months or a year, and then I met up with a friend who had real smokes.
He wanted company so would drag me off to this cul-de-sac between gardens and we used to skulk at the dead end smoking. The first time I smoked a real ciggie I nearly died of the coughing fit. Lots of gagging, too - but by then I had learned to blow rings from my extended session of huffing and puffing field grass.
Blowing rings was cool. Kinda like the movies. Made me feel like Clark Gable.

BTW - I once used to smoke that French TNT you are about to roll. Used to buy the filterless 20 softpack. Was like swallowing gravel; quite a kick.

The Gauloises? Been smoking it since Tuesday I'm loving it! Great hit and nice strength, when I wake up in the morning and have one there is a slight kick in the throat but after that its fine, really nice tobacco though!

I've been smoking a lot less the recent days. After a 5 day drinking binge where I must have gone through nearly 200 smokes I've been only having a few each day. I can't say my chest is fairing too well after last weekend.

I was able to smoke a half decent cigar on Tuesday which my friend brought from Europe. can't remember the name of it now though, I was mightily drunk.

I can relate right now. I got the flu last week Wednesday. Haven't had a stogie since then, until right now. I still can't taste anything. Nose is still too clogged. It's pointless to smoke one until it clears up. Taste is the true enjoyment of a good cigar. :)

What's your guy's opinion on e-cigarettes? I really don't want to get back into smoking but I'm really on the edge of it.

If you're out of the smoking game, why would you try to tiptoe back in?

Joey, nothing anyone says is going to make a blind bit of difference. As (presumably) an ex-smoker, I'm sure you're aware that it leads to compulsions that defy what people tell you. Leading to fits of rage and destruction of all life. But that part might just be me.

Long story, but ultimately life is becoming a PITA at times and I'm trying no to smoke. Although it's not working too well since I have been back at it for the past few months.

I know what you mean :indiff:

E-cigarettes didn't cut it for me. The smoke was far too thin and the nicotine hit was too low. I had to take a few puffs every ten minutes to compare to my normal nicotine intake.

Last night I went without a smoke due to have some coughing fits but I put that down to the extreme exercise I did recently and my lungs recovering from that, coupled with a nasty cold.

Sounds like bad juice.

The problem is juice requires different voltages depending on the juice to find the best flavour and vapour.

I have my favourite flavour and know the perfect voltage for it.

It's funny this thread popped back up again as I thinking today how much less I've smoked over the last week. I've gone from a factory chimney to a smoldering camp fire. :)

I'm not giving up smoking, but as part of my R&D effort I'm no longer buying cigarettes, but only smoking when offered which means I don't smoke the majority of the time. It's only when I've gone to my family's for dinner a few days in the last week that I've had a few of my dad's cigarettes, and he only smokes a few a day as it is.

I did retrieve some King Edward cigars from my stash box at my family home of which there are 6 left. I think since I'm not smoking cigarettes on a regular basis a cigar in the evenings might be a nice way to unwind from the day.

I didn't smoke at all until I was 22 years old and going through Basic and Advanced Individual Training with the U.S. Army in the late Spring, all Summer, and early Fall of 1970 at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. These cigarette samples that every trainee got with each box of Vietnam era "C-Rations" is what started a long, dirty, dangerous, and expensive vice (Refer to Item Number 7 in the following image).

In anticipation of the birth of my first grandson, I quit smoking cigarettes and switched to an e-cigarette about four months ago. It's not the same as a real cigarette, at least not to me, and it's probably not very healthy either, but it is certainly cleaner, and much less expensive than the real thing.

If you really want to smoke "for real", why not smoke cigars? Granted, that's a thing for calm and enjoyable moments but it might help you more than smoking fake cigarettes. :)

I have been smoking e cigs for over a year and I find it more enjoyable than the real ones.

I absolutely cannot stand e-cigs. They taste horrible and do nothing for me. Would much rather have a pack of Seneca's or Marlboro's any day.
