I thought for definite you were gonna come past while I was in the pits for the second time, bloody menu.

Did we touch slightly at the first corner? Being on the left side of the grid, I made sure I hugged the kerb at the first left hander, as that corner's strange crown camber throws you to the outside. Hope it didn't engineer the pirouette.

My sentiments exactly regarding time on track. Wish I could devote more.

So far...I've had one off per race. The thing is, it's always been within the first 5 laps. My goal for the remaining three is to break through this threshold, try to consolidate my position and not panic so much when in amongst the big boys early doors. Think a few of you got to see this first hand as I clipped the kerb after Conrod Straight, then, if I do say myself admirably almost saved it. It's a bit of a blur but I'm sure GoodWolf and 2 others were there that I may have collected trying to save the situation. Fill me in with any comments etc. even if to vent your spleen at me.

As I said, consolidate, as those champions league positions are only separated by a few points. Woohoo!

(Scholesy! Remember you've retired. There's no need to think about football any longer. You ginga tw*t)

We did touch slightly on the run up to the first corner. I thought there was a gap emerging, but it didnt materialise. I don't think you realised I was there, and I was committed by that point. A racing incident that's all, I'd got a good start but was probably a tad ambitious...

I know all about your pain with the pitstop...if you remember, this happened to me in the first two races of the championship - very frustrating!

Great post again today over on the Lotus facebook page. Dont forget to visit the page and share the post if your on facebook. The link is below.

A few early laps last night, and the Esprit feels great around Nurb GPF. The Bathurst set up felt too bouncy on the front, so it was back to the drawing board, and time to build a new set up. I will be on again tonight from 8.30pm to do a bit more work, so feel free to join.

On track again tonight for a few test runs at GPF. Capt_D, Will, Cobani and myself ran a few 4 lap races on the SS tyre. No times count yet, but the benchmark time is around 2:04.4xx. Fridays practice session will be the first official session in which times will count. I will be on again tomorrow for some more fine tuning at 8.30pm.

Great little testing session last night saw 7 racers trying to find a good set up for the Esprit Turbo HC, with a new benchmark of 2:03.9xx. First official practice session at Nurb GP/D will be tonight at 8.30pm, and from here on in, all times will count.

First practice session has given the times to aim for. It took a few races to get used to the new track, and it does seem particularly more challenging than Bathurst at the moment. That being said, this was only practice #1, and Im sure that after this weekend, the track will become more familiar, and times will tumble. Practice tomorrow will be at 8.00pm, and on Sunday we will practice the pit stop tyre change, and go over the track boundaries.

MORE challenging than Bathurst eh!! Oh flipping 'eck! :nervous::lol:

Some more improvements in times last night, including a new fastest lap by Warren. Unfortunately, I had enjoyed a few too many beers whilst watching the Grand National, and then the F1 qualis, to be able to do any better than the previous night, so thought it was best to retire early, rather than risk ruining my set up. Big thanks to Capt Gary for sending me the new lap times. Tonight we will do some short races with pit stop/tyre change, to see if there are any pit dramas we need to be aware of come race day. We will also cover track boundaries. Lobby will be open from 8.00pm.

OK, so maybe a little Blue Peter style but I'm hoping that my 'creation' will work. Put together this afternoon from bits of wood from the garden (mostly balustrades from some old decking) I'm hoping that it will help my rather erratic driving.

I'm still waiting for a longer USB extension cable but maybe have a trial run tonight. I might need some help with settings for the track guys as I'm sure it will be different to the controller.

Alastair

Being busy being family father but to night I'm on track.

What about the settings? Total reset after Australia or can you just tight it up a bit?

I have gone with Warrens Bathurst set up, but made a few tweaks. Brought the max speed down using the final gear, and just adjusted the suspension a little.

Alastair, that looks great. The transition from pad to wheel is steep, and you will get help from all of us.

That is seriously cool! :D

Another great night of practice, with 11 racers taking to the track to improve their times, and some posting their first entry onto the table. The pit stop race didnt seem to throw up any clangers apart from someone forgetting to change their tyres.

Then we moved onto a slow lap to determine the track boundaries. There are several turns here that can give an advantage if taken a bit excessively. I know we are all nice clean gentlemen folk, but the question was asked by Sholesy regarding the Mercedes Arena, so I thought I would cover all corners that can contribute to this.

Turn 1...Taking a wide line here may sometimes be quicker, but keep within the white line after the kerbs.

Turn 2...When exiting, dont go too wide here either. 2 wheels on the track.

Turn 4...Dont cut this sharp right hander too tight, but also dont go too wide on the exit. 2 wheels on the track.

Turn 8... Before this hard right hander, there is a kerbed area on the left hand side of the track. You are permitted to use this, but again, 2 wheels on the track, and keep within the white line.

Turn 11... Dont use the run off to the right after this turn.

Turn 14/15...Usual etiquette for chicanes. Again 2 wheels on track.

I will be back on track during the week for a few more practice sessions before Friday. On Saturday, its GC Garys 500pp race at Matterhorn, and I will run a few last chance races after we have finished.

How did it go? Is the rig still in one piece? :)

Here is mine, but after my girls got their own rooms the rig is put into a small room. A very small room.

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/my-sim-racing-rig.239068/

It's been out for just one short run, when the boys nagged me for a 'go' (sorry guys if you felt I left in a flash last time I was on). After the first run it need some re-enforcing and seems OK now, but we'll see how it lasts after a decent practice / race.

My first outing was pretty frustrating, partly because I'm a wheel 'newbie' and partly because I was sitting at an acute angle because the USB extension cable was not long enough. Hopefully will be in a position to have a decent run in the next day or two. (hopefully cable will be delivered today).

Thanks for your patience guys ;)

So jealous of your rig @Rosenlundaren.

Here's.......well, what I do to get my racing fix. The reason you can always hear my missus, is because she is on the sofa by my right ear wedging me up. Skyping, FB, chat site, G of Ts, Walking Dead, dodgy b-movies, dodgy downloading and sometimes she'll even laugh at how much better everyone is than me.

What stuff do you have to contend with while racing?

Think ADE sometimes gets similar with Lindsey?

Oh yeah! I forgot, I've usually got one or both of these doughnuts licking my ears lol.

Now that Paul @nomad81 , is some proper cockney!

Regarding my FB pic, I believe I'm dutchifried in Barney's. Check my profile page for clue. Another thing I have to contend with. Anyway enough about that.

Love the beer cans Gary. May as well jump on the "show us your rig" bandwagon, although most of you have seen it before.

I too have the complimentary "orange juice" can in the pic.

I will be running a few laps again tonight, and as I am now off work for the next 11 days, I will probably have 1 or 2 "orange juices " as well. Lobby will be open from 8.30pm.

I love seeing everyone's setups at home! Class! Lol at Scholesy's distractions from his other half, and I noticed GC's and Ade's alcoholic beverages to hand! I'll get a picture up of my own before too long, although the girlfriend has banned me from doing that at the mo cos we are half way through decorating the room! :boggled:

I'll be on for my 2nd practice session tonight:D

Good fun Thursday practice, with 6 on track. Will cracked into the 02's, taking Warrens position at the top of the table, whilst Capt Gary found himself breaking into the 03's. New PBs for NOMAD, Jammy and myself by the end of the evening. Top banter as usual, had me in stitches, but tonight I promise not to tell any jokes, especially about bakers. Further practice tonight will see some more chances of topping your times, and the lobby will be open from 8.30pm.

Quiet practice session last night, with just Warren and myself running some laps. We did a few races, but no new records where set. Tonight is GC Garys 500pp club race at Matterhorn. Full damage at this twisty mountain track will be intense. After we have finished, there will be one last chance to get some Esprit practice before tomorrows race.

Full details of the 500pp club race can be found HERE.

Hey guys, sorry that I've kinda disappeared the last while. I don't really have a valid excuse, pretty much just laziness and that I no longer have a chair to sit it to use the wheel. I was looking during the week in my local town for a camping chair or anything like it but haven't been able to get one which means I'll miss the race tomorrow. Probably a good thing since I have had barely any practice in the car and I do not wish to impact anyone's race negatively.

But I'll be heading to other places Monday or Tuesday for a suitable chair to use and I'll be back. Once again sorry for just disappearing, I've done it before and I apologize and I'll make sure I'm around for the rest of the season and beyond.

By the way, nice rigs guys. 👍
