The Things That Annoy You

The whining, complaining, negativity I see in most of the posts in the GTPlanet forums...
Scroll past the whining comments, ignore them. Put them on the ignore list if you must. I know it can get irritating to read them after a while, but it does you no good to try stopping them.

(while I don’t really get how or why they can feel that way I accept all our opinions are equally valid)
I can answer this. It's because a lot of the problems are probably things that don't apply to them nor care about.

I.e. People have told me how bad the multiplayer is, but I wouldn't know nor care because I don't play multiplayer. I don't like playing with others much.

Something that is starting to really annoy me, is cars in the ucd, showing up in the same colours everytime.

I know. Just paimt the car whatever colour you want. Well that destroys the two tone and factory decals. Yes there are people who make liverys or styles to get around this, but they are generally not good enough for my ocd and i don't have the time or patience to do it myself.

I just want a blue Renault 5 turbo, and something other than old man brown, on my firebird.

IKR! The fact that people aren't praising GT7 enough and giving PD more money, WHY can't these so called "fans" just go away already! Why can't they understand that GT7 is the BEST GT game to date. I, I, I can't fathom how some people can be SO ungrateful!! It must be a human thing. I will never understand humanity and their displeasure of well deserved ART! :grumpy:
Do we really need this level of attempted trolling?

PD lie by omission in their patch notes.

They make a significant change and provide the most scant details in the hope that people ignore it. Like in 1.15, where they failed to disclose the gravity of the change in the patch notes, then clarified it several days after the fact as it was so poorly communicated players are unable to ascertain whether the change was a bug or not.

Now update 1.16 claims that the FFB is the same strength as 1.13. But update 1.15 didnt just change the strength of the FFB, it reduced the detail (as felt on the T-GT at least).

It is lying by omission to play those sort of semantics with the users and act like the FFB is the same as 1.13. It does not feel the same, I cannot feel the limit on the same FFB settings I had pre-1.15.

It's why you scroll past comments you don't like instead of reading them. I do it a lot myself.
Oh because there are, like, a lot of them. And I mean threads, not just posts. They do get in the way.
This isn't what the thread is for!
What? This place isn't about Gran Turismo? And this forum, specifically 7?

Now I know that misery loves like minded company, but I have to say that so many people spending so much time explaining how miserable they are, day after day... after day... a lot... makes me wonder if this isn't their new idea of fun. Is this what Humans do in the new millennium? Nothing to do but grouch endlessly?

Oh wait, I said Humans... never mind, of course they do.

Edit: the whiners will know quite well that I rarely barge in on their fun, invading threads like... others do. Just sometimes, when I want to share my opinion. And isn't that what forums are all about? Ne?

Here's another little thing. Not only is the World Circuits menu a less-than-great layout, but within the circuits, the races aren't sorted in any way I can make sense of.

Let's look at Brands Hatch for example:
  • European Sunday Cup 500
  • European Clubman Cup 600
  • Sunday Cup Classic
  • European Sunday Cup 400
  • World Touring Car 700
  • GT Cup Gr.4
Where is the logic in this? It isn't sorted by PP. It isn't sorted by reward. It isn't sorted by unlock order. It isn't sorted by race length. It isn't sorted alphabetically. It isn't sorted by difficulty, and at this point I'm reaching for anything.

So what is it? What reason is there for the order of them?

Umm. I'm just following the title of the thread. "The Things That Annoy You" and I gave out an example of an opinion based on someone else's feelings.
That was a troll???? It explained my feelings regarding the game so well, what a let down, I thought there were many like minded fans as I.
This guy gets it! High Five :)

Yes, but this thread was clearly going to have complaining. Yes, there's a lot of them like this and I do feel like they get in the way sometimes of some actual content to see. But I still choose to scroll past them.

They come up as you progress through the menu books.

Weren't we told there would be mixed-class races in GT7? I remember them saying something about racing Gr4 and Gr3 cars on same track. Or was that just wishful thinking from some reviewer.?
The State Of Play showcase had LMP1s and GT3 cars on track at the same time when referring to the custom race mode, but at that point at least there was nothing mentioned about actual multi-class racing

The garage camera. Why must it change automatically? Why can't I set it to one setting and have that one loop over and over? Also a free-cam like what the 'preview' in the livery editor would be very useful. But alas this isn't the only area in the game that lacks a free cam. The style viewer, and several GT Auto sections that show the car also lack a free cam, but at least those seem to have the ability to lock the camera into one setting. Basically, just let me view my own car on my own terms. Don't force me to have to click the r1/l1 buttons over and over just to view the car from the angles I want and like.

Secondly, since I had mentioned GT Auto, what's with the 'paint' shop option not letting me view the paint on the car I am currently driving? How am I suppose to know what paint looks good if I can't even see it on the car I'm buying the paint for?

Why is it that logical and beneficial and basic features are constantly missing from this game?

The damn decal search... got a specific racing number plate on my hood, but i can't copy it to the sides of my car. Cannot even find it anymore, looking for its name. Can't add it to favorites anymore, once it's added to the car either.

I've not even started on The Human Comedy missions yet, but I'm already feeling disappointed that there'll be no replay value in them. There's multiple eligible cars for plenty of the events and it just seems like a missed trick not to have a good reason to try them out.

Why oh why did they allow comments DURING the Sport Mode races??

Take your gripe offline FFS. You're whining is a distraction to everyone else, I don't care if it's justified or not. Those pop ups disrupt my race and there's 99% chance the person you wrote to/wrote about doesn't even see it.

Gives me something to do when I'm making sand castles. It's more cathartic than yelling at my tv where there is a 0% chance of anyone seeing it.

I really hate that you buy all these cars , spend credits on tuning them to make them stable / fast . Then you've got nothing to race them against unless you select one of the group catagories. If I buy a road car and tune it , there should be a quick option to race it against other road cars of similar performance - like you can select BOP if you choose to race a GR4 or 3 car.

Why is there no BOP for road cars? make them equal to yours and let us see our cars that we "created" fight it out with similar cars. I absolutely hate creating custom races amd having to spend flippin ages handpicking and sorting cars from my garage!

Grinding (one or more) months for a one and only car is something that i hate.... PD lost the plot.. We all love the cars not the 2 hours in an oval track that we get 1 mil... my opinion
totally why I use a farming script. I'm not going to grind.

There's a mismatch between the colors of available cars and the real paint colors available.

For example, there's a Chevrolet Corvette in the Used Car shop today that's described there as being "Daytona Yellow" in color. "Daytona Yellow" is not one of the available real car paints, yet it clearly exists.

Another thing which annoys me is that once I've bought a car, and it's cycled out of the UCD, I can't find the name of the paint it came with.

It doesn't work in all cars, because some just don't have their paints named, but you can see the name of your paint in the garage. On the left, under the car's name and above the PP, it should list the car's paint.

Yeah, and what’s weird is if you widen the body (but do nothing to the paint) that info disappears. As it does if you change the paint colour (ie the new paint colour doesn’t show anywhere).
