The Things That Annoy You

You know, a kind of another thing that has annoyed me with GT7, even though I know it isn't a new annoyance with this game series but I would've thought they would have expanded upon it in later titles - Lack of character customization. I can understand the need for a driver helmet as that hides your player face/identity so it becomes more a personification of you, but what about that driver suit and gloves? Why can't I take that all off and put on say some raggedy jeans and a t-shirt? If the driver is really suppose to be a reflection of the player why can't I have the driver in the game dress more like me?

And before you say that the driver suit is realistic as it is used in motorsport to prevent the driver from catching fire, think of it this way; Cars in GT series have never been able to catch fire making that argument redundant.

Odd thing is, they actually have a helmet in the game that looks like a vintage helmet, but it is only used whenever you drive the Porsche VGT. It might be used on other cars too, but I only know the Porsche. So with that already in the game, why not let players change their helmet style to that helmet? Odd design choices by PD I'd say.

Minor annoyance but when selecting a different car in Garage and it takes a half second to load in the custom livery, don't expect a problem like this on PS5.

I am outraged that you didn't add the possibility of female characters. Are they not allowed or incapable to drive races?

The reason why I omitted them was because the default driver body is kind of ambiguous in its design. It's neither feminine nor masculine in its frame.

Hello !

What bothers me the most is artificial intelligence.
I don't care how many cars or tracks there are, driving on the saint nordschleife with cars that don't race each other doesn't interest me because the AI must manage a minimum of physics.
Which is not the case for a lot of car games, arcades or simulations.

Seeing a crash on automobilista 2 after an ai error is enjoyable (compared to immersion) seeing an ia having trouble accelerating because of slippage on assetto corsa 1 makes immersion at the top.

Ah and the compulsory connection irritates me to the highest point.

Completing the dirt track Circuit Experiences.

I'll be damned if I don't realise that All Gold is within my reach. The sheer amount of retries required hurts not only because it's a massive time sink, but I know that the skills perfected in that time are going to be mostly useless for the rest of the game
I'll go one step further and say that the dirt tracks, like VGT cars are the weakest links in the game and I personally feel that the game would be better without both of them.

I regularly lose connection which invalidates my race.
I don't understand such a choice for the single-player game part.
As someone who lives in a rural area, I feel ya. My connection is solid nowadays, but wasn't a few years ago.

Well in terms of gameplay probably the overly cluttered heads up display. Really hope Polyphony simplifies it down the line.

-Why is the event that is explicitly called the Gr.1 Prototype Series not limited to Gr.1 cars, insofar that any car with 950 PP or less can enter?

-Why is the Mazda RX-Vision GT3 Stealth Model tagged as a VGT, whereas the regular RX-Vision GT3 is not?

-Why is the Toyota GR010 lacking the "hybrid car" tag when it even says in its full title that it is, in fact, a hybrid?

-Why is Guards Red - a notably popular Porsche color - not a color you can buy at GT Auto?

-Why is my Audi R18 TDI '11, despite being just below 950 PP as per regulation, still placing 7th at best for both the Gr.1 race at Daytona and the one at Suzuka? Why, at Suzuka, was I over 55s behind the leader upon finishing?

-Why is the Daily Race that doesn't track DR/SR not an additional "Daily Race D" or something? Why does it have to overwrite Daily Race A?

-Why haven't we seen any BoP charts like we saw all the time in Sport? Is this why the next round of the GTWS Nations Cup - which permits any of the eight current Gr.2 cars at Autopolis - has the Honda NSX Concept-GT utterly dominating the leaderboard? Seriously, it's like the seven other Gr.2 cars don't even exist at all.

I still look forward to future updates, but man, I simply cannot list how many things I still am holding out to see in GT7. I'm sympathetic to Gallo's general concern.

That I can complete missions or challenges in second place registering a time that is faster than a winning time.

It's happened twice tonight. I finished first (in both Mixed Class Overtaking missions using the NISMO GT500 then the Audi LMS) with slower times than previous runner up times.

Ha Ha!

Yeah, that happened to me on the mission where you're in a Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren and you need to overtake some A45 AMGs on the Nordschleife. When I finally got gold, I definitely remember my time being a little worse than my previous best.

Same. My winning time for this Mission was worse than some of my failed finishes.

This Mission is pretty hard for its level. It definitely belongs in a higher Pepper tier IMO.

Interesting point, but I like it. I could see maybe requiring a racing suit if you're in a "race car" but there are tons of road cars in the game as well. Road cars that people can take to a track weekend. I've done it many of times in my street car. My clothes included a t-shirt, jeans, helmet, some gloves, and just tennis shoes. Would be cool to recreate.

I could say some things about the car list alone, and I can only hope these will all get addressed sooner than later. But if we're only getting three cars in every update, I'm not so sure. Ah, whatever. Here were my issues:

-Why is the Peugeot 205 Group B Rally Car there, but not the 205 T16 road car that it's based on?

-Similarly, why do we have the Renault 5 Turbo, but not its respective rally car?

-Why do we have so few cars from Alfa Romeo, a company that is over a century old?

-Why do we still not at least have the Veloster N for Hyundai, let alone other N models like the i20, i30, or Elantra?

-Why can't Pininfarina make another VGT since the EF7 got axed? And if they do end up doing that, why can't this one be added as an actual Pininfarina model, perhaps alongside the Battista?

-If Jaguar and Peugeot are some of the automakers to make more VGT models even after their initial entries, why can't some automakers with lamer VGTs do the same? Like BMW, Toyota, Subaru, and Mitsubishi? And why can't GM Design make a Gr.1 car based on the C8 Corvette? Assuming they're even still making a VGT, and assuming the page with the upcoming brands - which still includes Lamborghini, despite their car being released - is even meant to be accessed, as you can only Google it. There's no way to get to that page through the official website, though you can sort the news feed insofar it shows VGT news. To be fair, I do kinda like new brands joining the VGT project seemingly out of nowhere, like Suzuki and possibly Genesis.

-Why in the Goddamn is the current BoP/PP system still quite hosed, insofar that when you check the leaderboard for the GTWS Nations Cup Season 1 Round 2, all you can see is the Honda NSX Concept-GT, despite the event allowing any of the eight current Gr.2 cars?

-Why is there still no cockpit for some VGTs and the Toyota S-FR Racing Concept? For the latter, can't PD just nicely ask CALTY to draw one up?

-As someone from Connecticut, why can't we have Callaway in GT7? Specifically, the C12, C16 Coupe, and C7 Race Car? Seriously, I live less than ten minutes from their HQ!

Gallo was right to be concerned.

How Racing Softs are so awful too drive on, don't know what causing it but any time I stick softs on, the car drives awful.

I need more features to upgrade, which is a frustration I started to feel as I started playing online.

For example the tire width upgrade is especially important. There may be a slight change with the wide body kit, but basically no matter which tires you install, the tire width is the same as the stock ones.
Some vintage cars have tires that are too narrow for their power output, so even if racing tires are installed, they often do not provide enough grip.

Next, a multi-speed gearbox; we don't need a 7+ speed gearbox like NFS or Forza, but at least a 6 speed conversion.
Such a gearbox conversion would make 4-speed vehicles like Jeep more competitive.

Lastly, weight reduction.
I'm not sure that Stage 5 and beyond are roulette exclusive, but the problem is that only a limited number of cars have access to Stage 4 in the first place, and most of them are biased towards supercars.
It is the cars that are too stock and too heavy that want to take advantage of the lightweight option. Many would like to give better handling to muscle cars and AWD saloons.
But why is Stage 4 not available for these cars, and why is Stage 4 available for supercars that are stock and light enough?

By far the most annoying thing is PD making the Tomahawk unusable to grind with by "breaking" the trans ratios. According to Kaz "I want people to drive as many cars as possible instead of grinding" then a week after the 1.15 patch adding $44 million dollars worth of cars in the legendary market. Really??? If people are "going to experience all of the different cars in GT7" they need to grind to buy them as the payouts are so low relative to the cost of cars ( that doesnt include replacement bodies which I saw $21.7 million for the 917, even more than the cost of the car). As long as the Tomahawk cannot be used online exactly who was it hurting besides possibly Sony as people may now find the need to buy microtransactions to afford cars, alrhough I doubt that those who grind will spend real mpney on a car that only shows up on your TV.

A minor annoyance is the duck tail spoiler not available for the Porsche 930. It’s as if PD accidentally programmed the Ruah-Welt spoilers to the 930 and the classic rear spoilers to the newer 964. …and d, no to mention(which I am anyway), the 964’s rear active spoiler, still does not activate.

The huge text block obscuring the car when you import a sport livery with a missing decal. Which decal is it? You can't look at the car to find out.

Similarly all the centre-screen info during races, I don't need or want any of it in the middle, throw it to the edges where it is less in the way. (I appreciate this was introduced in GT Sport because people with bad peripheral vision were always forgetting to pit and whatever, so it's better as-is, but not for me so I'd like some HUD options)

kjb
I bought the Suzuki VGT and I can't buy any upgrades nor change any settings which is terribel
That’s understandable, though, as it’s a concept car. I’d be surprised if we could tune even one VGT, as you couldn’t do much to them even in GTS.
