That... that episode really cheered me up. With the recent crap going on with FiM, the season finale and other personal problems, I think that episode was just what I needed.

I just knew this all took place during the time Spike was taking care of their pets, and it tied in well at the very end of the episode.

Pinkie Pie though, she was on fire again . I haven't laughed this much at an episode this season, honestly, especially when Dash crashed into the crystal salon roof. I liked Chickadee simply for being weird yet interesting, even.

I'll put it out there by saying that this was my second favourite this season.

Anyone else feel like they really, reallllyyy put a ton of effort into the animation for this episode? IMO, probably the best yet.The tie in was a nice little thing too.

I thought so at some points during the episode.

Like when Pinkie was about to dive into the mud bath, and the rehearsed cheer they gave Chickadee. But they've done a good job of it throughout the third season.

Oh, and we did see some of what I'd consider to be Rainbow Dash's father. I wonder if they'll use RD's rule 63 name, or just call him "Rainbow Dad"?

I totally forgot there was gonna be a new episode today until I saw the episode's title tagged on an unspoilered image on DB. Oh well. I don't care about spoilers anymore. I'm just waiting for next week, for when we get to see if the alicorn drama was worth it.

It takes place at the same time as the last episode. The beginning & end over laps with the beginning & end of the last episode. I thought that was a nice little touch but the episode wasn't the greatest IMO. It had it's normal funny moments & heart stopping cuteness but didn't have anything to make me like it over a lot of other episodes.

Having read the synopsis for the season finale:

If Fluttershy ends up with Twilight's cutie mark in the next episode, then she would have hit the wall so hard that part of episode 13 leaked back into episode 12 before it even aired.

Adding to that, I wonder if they'd bother adding teasers through intentional animation errors. They do like adding minor details and references as we all know (it happened in the very first episode), so it's not completely unlikely.

So I watched the episode myself. At first I was like "What the hell, I wasted my time getting up early just to see the last episode again?", but then it cut to the mane 6 and not Spike so then I was like "Oh, this must be what happened while Spike was taking care of the pets", which would technically this episode would be more like the B-side of Episode 11. Anyhow:

Pinkie Pie once again over the wall as usual, though it was most funny towards the end when everyone hangs their head and shame when out of nowhere "Cinnamon Bun?"

Childhood flashback of Rainbow Dash was interesting, am sorta curious as to if that was a relative of hers.

Wasn't expecting to see Shining Armor again.

And I can only guess that odd thing Twilight does is some sort of way to calm herself when a situation seemed stressful, though that didn't seem to work when they found out the silly Pony they were spending all their time welcoming wasn't the judge they were trying to sway.

Overall, great episode. Definately noticed some interesting effort put in the animation, very funny as well.

So onto next weekend (the busiest weekend for me Eva!!) and a possible refference to a certain movie that also had a Coronation. At least this one won't be Bad comedy.

I'm honestly a bit disappointed with this after closer inspection.
Rainbow's Dad's wing looks like it's not attached to his body, but at least there's an easter egg in the background.

Decided to get back to finishing up Fluttershy and here it is:



Sorry if it sucks, its about the best I could do without making another typical Wet Mane Clone.

Also did a slight Rarity revamp that only includes additional eyelashes (basing it off the fake lashes she usually has) and Cutie Mark.



Now working on this:



Proud of this so far, managed to successfully nail the look of the mane on her head. This actually feels like it won't take many attempts to complete.

I take it the eyes are green due to not being edited yet. And the Fluttershy one doesn't suck. It actually looks rather good. 👍

So, Pinkie was on a roll this time... The laughter. This episode was a great surprise too for me, because last week I remember thinking, "BUT I WANT TO SEE WHAT THEY'RE DOING IN THE CRYSTAL EMPIRE!!!" And due to some crafty spoiler avoiding, I was severely confused at the start of the episode, and then upon realizing that this was a new episode... Was very impressed that they did that. It was a fun idea, especially because they tied it in the end of the story as well. I can honestly swear that the show's episodes are having more smarter things thrown in as we head down the line... And I thought they'd have run out of pep already... Well maybe they have with Twilicorn. But still, Twilicorn is a joke for me now... Whenever I see the image I can't stop laughing due to how crazy everyone went when it popped up

Anyway, as of this night... I have now been watching the show for a year. So a year of my life that has been spent mainly doing pony related things, and stuffs. But no seriously, it's been great to see all these talented artists show their stuff, whether they be musicians, drawers, or just general animation, or voice over work. It's just been amazing what I've learnt the past year due to pony. Considering other Brony musicians have inspired me to take up drums, guitar, piano and bass... I think ponies are having a good effect. Over the year, I've slowly changed into a better person if I must say, cliché as it sounds. No, I'm not mental love and tolerate change, just generally easier to deal with. So really, thanks to the guys here at GTP, because if there weren't Bronies on GTP, I never would have found this great fandom.

Trust me, I know the feel, this fandom, and most all of, the lot of you have really helped me improve and realize a lot of things about myself I never would have otherwise. Its not just suddenly teaching me to be a better person, either. Its exposed my problems in a way that lets me deal with them. Problems I otherwise would've struggled with without ever realizing it.
