In terms of alignment with their Element, Fluttershy has always stuck out hard as being the farthest way from what would be necessary to reactivate it. And I say that with the full acknowledgement that this entire thing was Captain Dash's fault, because even with her it was more of a loyalty towards the wrong thing scenario than it was an outright lack of loyalty, much like it was in S2E1.

Assuming the Happy/Sad switch is what needs to be done to snap Pinkie back to relative normalcy, I think she would be the easiest to be able to represent her element. And considering the reason Pinkie is the way she is, I think that all that needs to be done is give her a little hope.
Rarity has already basically gone through the attitude adjustment that is required of her, so she's probably golden even now.
Applejack knows what she needs to do, and probably knows how she needs to do it, but she is so far refusing to do so because... well, because she's Applejack.



Fluttershy, however, not only will still need to overcome the reasoning that she used to justify her (for lack of a better word) corruption of what she is supposed to stand for, but she will also need to overcome the atrocities that she will feel she committed while she was commuting her behavior. And the full weight of what she has been doing is going to hit her hard once she realizes that her reasoning has been nothing more than a bunch of rationalizations she put in place to defend herself, and if someone (probably Dash, because of how Dash reacted when she realized what Fluttershy was doing) doesn't comfort her when that happens she is going to BSoD something awful in response.

You are absolutely right. Fluttershy will have big troubles adjusting to the new world, once everything is fixed. She will probably have a trauma too. Not only that, but I am agreeing with you on every word. It's going to be hard for her. And it's going to be hard for her friends.

Pinkie on the other hand didn't do anything bad. At least we don't know about it.

PTSD, PTSD everywhere.

Not quite fitting on RD's chapter to be honest, It was clever when it was applied over FS, but is not when the basis of the trauma contradicts the very principle of being hypnotized (which is the basis of the anti-personas created by Dischord).

I know that they have to remember the whole thing in order to justify the PTSD but the development given to RD doesn't quite work as it did with FS.

First low point I find in this story, and I seriously don't consider it adequate given the circumstances that surrounded RD and how RD was portrayed(which correspond to the loyalty fail, but I still don't see the events being traumatic to RD, considering how she acts in Mare Do Well or whatever that episode is called).

Really? I thought Dash's chapter was one of the strongest of the set (Trixie's I don't think counts because of how vastly different it is in scope).

I didn't view it as PTSD so much as a logical endpoint regarding the theory regarding her personality (as seen in Sonic Rainboom) that Dash's bravado and self-importance are a front to shield her from her own insecurities, and that when Discord pulled what he did he dragged them straight up to the surface and displayed them to everyone in Cloudsdale. And what he ultimately did did seem pretty damn traumatic to me, especially when it was all her fault for trusting him as she was of sound mind when she betrayed everyone rather than him corrupting her and then making her choose.



Is that response in regards to the first Dash healing chapter, or the second? Because the second one actually dives into things in quite a bit more detail than the original one did; the Mare Do Well events in particular.

I'm just waiting for 'DAT IMAGE to go up on Ponibooru, then I'm going to fave the 🤬 out of it and go to bed.

Then you probably shouldn't post it. No nudity, no sex, no swearing. Context is also very important for borderline images. We basically base what is appropriate for posting based on what is appropriate for posting in the Anime thread, but about a notch or two lower.

As a corollary, we do tend to talk an awful lot about stuff that can't be posted here, either by posting Ponibooru image codes with warnings or mentioning off-hand where it comes from (for example, Ask Molestia images are occasionally posted here when they are safe, but more frequently someone sees the newest update and mentions it and everyone goes to look at it themselves. The same happens whenever JJ uploads his personal tumblr for images that cannot be posted).




Once I upgrade my membership again this afternoon I'll send you a PM with more specifics about what is and what isn't allowed in this thread (and the forum as a whole). We generally have a lot more leeway than over on SSMB (other than swearing), and we generally try to self-moderate to make things easier for the moderation staff; so if you post anything that is over the line one of the regulars of the thread, either me, Mint (History's Greatest Hero), Wiegert (History's Greatest Monster), or Brando (um... Brando) will tell you about it.

Just watched The Cutie Mark Chronicles and Boast Busters with my mom. When watching the CMC one, she saw Dash's Sonic Rainboom from the flashbacks and called it that, not knowing it was really called that until she heard. And my mom agreed about something: The censoring of Trixie's "losers" line in Canada is rather excessive. I just looked, and the line was "When Trixie is through, the only thing they'll call you is loser.". Is "loser" now a "juvenile curse" in Canada? If only Trixie could use her magic to uncensor the line, though it just muted apparently. Uncensor, turn up, it's all the same.

Looks like who or whatever censored this is the loser. And they did a little boast busting of their own. I'm bored.
