I've noticed that plenty of shows draw inspiration from other shows often mimicking episodes. Sometimes popular stories get rehashed numerous times.

Examples elude me currently, but I remember noticing it all the time when I watched cartoons.
Well more than just one cartoon anyway.

Okay, guys, I've just had a new idea for a fanfiction (steal this, die):

On Wings of Shining Steel

Twilight and the rest of the mane six (plus Spike) are hurled far into the future, directly into a ponies vs. aliens interstellar war. They are forced to adapt to survive, and after commandeering an enemy cruiser, are found and hired by Celestia and Luna's army to serve as warriors in the space fleet in an epic battle to save ponykind! Twilight Sparkle becomes a commander, Rarity a captain, Pinkie Pie a weapons specialist, Fluttershy a medic and Applejack and Rainbow Dash are made pilots of fighter ships - and as the latter two ponies find love for eachother in the midst of the chaos, they must engage in a fight for their lives in order to protect their feelings and the future of their world.

Not epic enough? Read it in thirty seconds, accompanied by this music - and picture an awesome anime montage based on it. Now imagine the mane six in skin-tight latex flight suits and ultra-high-powered fighter jets, firing lasers at hordes of alien battleships, risking their lives on a daily basis - and combine it with some steamy APPLEDASH SHIPPING.

Sooo... ponies wearing skin-tight latex, or hawt humanised versions wearing said attire? The Inclusion of AppleDash shipping would probably put about 90% of the people who were initially interested in this story idea off it altogether.[May_Not_Be_True]

A Precious Rainbow (Okay, yes, I cried. I cried a lot, but it's a Cupcakes sequel so leave me alone).

Oh god, that story was beautiful. So much better (in terms of content, and quality of writing) than Cupcakes.
Then again, a light gun shot wound would be better than Cupcakes.

On a related note, any fanfics anyone here would recommend?
I've wanted to start Fallout: Equestria for a while, but I've held off because 1: 650k words is wat, and 2: I've never played Fallout, so I'm not sure if I'd understand it all.

Most of the stuff I've read so far has been good, stuff like Blueblood Returns, and the rest of that arc, were really good I thought. Though that could just be the fact that I tend to be pretty lenient with criticisms. If something is godawful then I won't touch it (My Immortal anyone? ) but other than that I tend to see past most problems people have with certain stories.
Also loved the Vinyl Scratch Tapes, nailed Vinyl and Octavia's characters (at least in my head, anyway) and the fact that they are being voice-dubbed makes me happy.

But yeah, any suggestions would be welcome, not really opposed to any genre, apart from maybe Grimdark stuff, but even then, if it's good I'll probably read it (Heard good things (for want of a better word, given the content) about Rainbow Factory, for instance).

That's exactly what I was just thinking actually. Michos will probably have a coloured version done by tomorrow though, but I'm considering colouring one of the newer ones anyway.


And I wonder who keeps requesting humanised AJ. There's at least one very good piece uploaded during each JJ-Overload, and this time is no exception.
