They look metal to me - they are reflecting parts of the base on them, unless they are chrome painted plastic, which i doubt very much for $500

You are looking at the wrong part the arms not the plates. The plates are likely metal.

Also the price of $500 is speaking of the Japanese market where the g27 is $450. So high price doesn't explain away those cross supports which would mean cast steel parts that are more expensive than folded steel used in the g27. All without offering any structural advantage. //That said the extruded plastic is more than sufficient it just looks cheap.

500 euros as seen in a spanish site in a post above is not 500 dolares - is 630 more or less

1. 500$ price is from Kaz, 500€ price is from a Spanish site. I think I trust Kaz more.
2. Your conversion is wrong.

:sly:

Well we actually don't know much a bout the price. If 500$ is the US price, I see no reason for it not costing 500€ in Europe - it's usually so with PC hardware ;)

I see, and the reason is that thurstmaster is made in europe - so it would be stupid to be more expensive where its made

Im also in europe and my DFGT costs 80 euros for example - how much does it cost in the states?

Holy cow, I could forget about getting a G27 and just get this one instead! That pedal setup looks amazing and it seems customizable as well. The wheel doesn't look too bad, but I wish they could have separated the Playstation buttons from the wheels like how Logitech did with the G25/G27. Also, would be interesting to see a shot of the gear shifter as well... :D

wow. it looks like an F40 wheel!

I still don't think it'll be all that nice (thrustmaster isn't known for their quality) so I'll stick with my fanatec GT2 for now, but it sure does look far better than I could have imagined.

Well we can't say they didn't deliver on this wheel. Everything looks good on paper wwe just gotta see the shifter. I will be buying this wheel.

Hmm
Also Fanatec comes with a new wheel. This time the 911 GT2.
Costs $500 with Clubsport pedals. And you get a shifter..

And it's also compatible with XBOX360

Horrible name!
I would be the laughing stock if I had something with the word Thrustmaster on it in my living room.
Bedroom yes, but not the living room.

Yeah but think about it, If your gonna spend $500 wouldn't you spend it on something officially supported. PD will code & patch directly for this wheel to perform @ its optimal level.

Yep, but you still don't have a wheel for the Xbox360. Also it's still unsure whether the TM wheel works on pc. Also Thrustmaster hasn't been in the high-end market for a very long time..

yes, but fanatec will code and patch the GT2 wheel to work at it's optimal level, too. just because it isn't officially supported doesn't mean it isn't completely functional.

I agree But put it like this if you walked off the lot with a new Porsche and its time for a oil change would you bring it back to the dealer or bring it to John's Oil station. You pay for certain guarantee's and this is one im willing to bet on.

Seems i´m retiring my g25 for this wheel, ordering one as soon as i can. :)

I´m glad it looks like they went with HOTAS style of quality for this. ;)

I take it to the cheapest ASE certified insured, respectable location I can find around me.

I think it looks really shoddy myself, the pedal frames look really tacky, and the wheel looks super plasticcy.

i'll get a G 27 methinks.

because resale value means nothing? getting service at the dealer conserves the cars value. I'm not sure how this analogy applies to the wheels tho:dunce:

Well what im saying is PD will know this wheel inside out and code for it more accurate then any 3rd party wheel @ the same price point.

I can't believe all the people willing to scrap their current wheel and/or wait for this thing. It does look nice, but has anyone actually tried it? Just because its officially supported, doesn't mean its going to be amazing.

A Viper might look good, but it still drives like...#$
