That's why I simply bought my T500 in the physical shop were I got 1 year warranty, so I just exchange the whole wheel in once :)

I have a question though, does someone uses T500 with WSP or other wheelstand you can fold and hide away.

I use my t500rs with a WSP. It's pretty good but I wish I had a cockpit cause sometimes in the heat of a race you can pull it a little forward or to the sides. I'd recommend it if you have no room for a sturdy cockpit.

Cant wait til I get a proper man cave one of these days I think I'm a bit too rough for the WSP

I am a little confused about what you have posted here. Was Thrustmaster's response to a QA issue that you perform a complex repair to the wheel yourself, or was that your choice because you did not want to be without a wheel? I read it first as they didn't give you a choice in the matter and later that it was to avoid having to ship the wheel back for repairs.

If they would send parts to a consumer w/ instructions and allow them to repair their own wheel while at the same time still honoring the warranty, I find that pretty cool.
One of the paddle shifters of my T500 works bad, and I asked to Thrustmaster customice service for a repair or a change (so appropriate, because usually, users whose wheels have been anomalies were changed).

They told me they would send me a replacement lever kit, and instructions to change it myself.

I agreed, to not be too long before the wheel. But today I received the wrong part (one top cover with the fan) with instructions to change it, and seeing the difficulty of replacement, I said to Thrustmaster if replacing the lever kit was so complex than the top cover with fan, I preferred them to repair the wheel, because is their obligation under warranty.

They just respond by saying that initiate the repair process, but until July 25 did not proceed with it, because the service is on vacation until then... :guilty:

I'm running the same exact setup and get no movement or wobble. Try tightening down the bolts a bit more

Gotcha and thanks for the clarification. Good luck with getting your wheel back to normal.

I have been waiting on Thurstmaster for over a week. My (V2) model did not survive the firmware update. The wheel was awesome, then started switching between Force Feed Back modes. I tried the firmware update while on the phone with tech support, next thing they say "wheel is dead". My T500 was bought in mid March, so it was still pretty new when it started to have problems. Now waiting and not real happy with tech support.

I had a problem with my paddle shifters too and I was able to fairly simply solve my own problem. This may or may not work for you but give it a shot...

It seems like the top cover over the paddles has too much plastic on it and doesnt allow the paddles to travel fully and make a good connection. So what I did was remove the top cover (the one with the six black screws) and just left it off. I tried the game again and the paddles worked perfectly. For now I've been playing with the cover off, but eventually I'm gonna get a file and file down the plastic some so I can put the cover back on.

@rebla47

If it wouldn't be too much trouble, could you maybe post the fan replacement instructions that came with the wrong part?

I will scan its early for you, but the text are in spanish language.

Thanks Ken, but I prefer they repair the wheel, because I will not use it during a long time: I will take my holidays soon, and really I will not plain to play GT5 again before the shifter release (it´s my only game).

Can't decide between the RennSport and the WSP.
- Stand for Thrustmaster T500RS - DELUXE = € 134 (shipment included)
- Fanatec RennSport Wheel Stand V2 - € 137 (with the current 9,4 sek/euro conversion).

I can actually buy the RennSport V2 locally (yeah, there is one swedish store that sells all the Fanatec stuff).
They have it IN STOCK which means I can go in and buy it tomorrow.

The reason I'm posting here is because I have a T500 incoming.
Just as deciding which wheel I can't decide between these two.

Now, there are 2 things I'm interesed in.
1. Stability - seems like a tie!?
2. Customization - or rather how you can change HOW the wheel/pedals are sitting compared to yourself.

It would be awesome to buy it from the local store since I could have it tomorrow but if the WSP is the better choice I will go with that since it's basically the same price.

Spagetti69, need your input :D

Hi MuRRe.

Wow you've grown up quick.
Not long ago you were spending conservatively and holding back to see if you are going to be serious.

Now your like a lotto winner on a spending spree lol.

All I can say is that the Wheelstand pro is an excellent purchase. Very stable and adjustable.

The footplate remains flat however, but once you have mounted the pedals to your liking they should be fine.

It is possible that you may want to readjust your pedal angle if going from a low seated position. ( in your new plush sofa )
To a higher seated position ( Dinning chair for example ).
Really putting a book under the front of the stand would suit that purpose.
I've used my stand in both situations but haven't needed too adjust pedals at all for me.

Thing is I use a GT2 and G27, both with a stand each and their great.

T500 is a bit heavier I believe and I have zero experience with the Rennsport.
So someone else may want to contribute to that.

As a side note. My WSP originally was for my MS wheel. I easily modded it to hold a GT2.

My other WSP was for my DFGT and it easily took my G27.

Good job with the lotto win BTW.

On the spending side I just realised that either I go for a sweet setup or just don't buy anything.
A stand feels essential with a wheel like the T500.
This is a hard one.
I just don't know which one to choose :(

Which is the heaviest? I know the WSP is quite heavy.

Is the RennSport base aluminium? You need a solid stand for the T500 IMHO.

Ah what am I saying, you'll be trading it in for a cockpit in a week.

Actually, no that won't happen :(
I don't have room for that and also I wanna be able to easily move it to friends/family to play with them.

Both are good products. Their is something always nice with keeping branding the same I feel. I remember the RS was certainly a lot heavier than the G25 WSP. It also went much higher as well.

The RS has those wider base supports and I would very much recommend you consider a board as a platform to utilise a Buttkicker/Tactile unit giving a nice effect in the wheel and the pedals as a future upgrade.

I'm sure either one can handle the T500 RS, especially since the pedals for it are so heavy they'll do a good job of weighing down the base.

The Wheel Stand Pro offers infinite angle adjustment due to the quick release clamps, but in videos it doesn't seem quite as stable as the RennSport Wheel Stand. I have the RennSport and use it with a GT2 and ClubSport pedals. It's really solid and quite heavy. It only offers two angles for the upright bar though: 90 degrees or 110 degrees. Actually, mine is the older model that only offers 90 degrees. It has never been a problem for me though. I also recommend tying your chair to the wheel stand. I use an old leather belt and use it to secure the center shaft of my office chair to the center shaft of the wheel stand. It keeps the stand from walking and allows me to apply plenty of force to the brake pedal safely.

That's what I thought.
More "angle" on WSP but a little stability.
Well, I think I'm gonna go for the RS simply cause I can go to the store.

(More input is welcome :) )

EDIT: One thing though. The WSP comes pre-drilled for the T500 right?

wheel stand pro is awsome imo i use thrustmaster t500 rs jus make sure ya by the 1 for thrustmaster they have diif mount screws for pedals btw i love this set up have fun

Hmm, 12th gear.

Tying your stand to the chair to stop it walking. My wife would think I'm into some sort of bondage or S&M with gimp masks and stuff.

My WSP doesn't do walkies. Playing on a wood block floor.

LOL. It's actually not so much my stand walking. That was poorly worded. It's mainly to keep my office chair from rolling back, allowing me to brake with confidence. I like a firm, realistic brake that requires some force. I learned this trick from a drummer. He tied his drum throne to his kick drum. This kept the drum from shifting during shows and also made it simple for him to set up and know the distance from throne to kick drum was spot on.

Also, what you and your wife may or may not do on your own time is none of my business. :sly:

That shifter looks delicious, and I don't even own the wheel... or a stand... or any wheel for that matter. Just browsing :)

EDIT: removed duplicated info

I copied the picture and uploaded in photobucket :) lol

I do hope they will give a discount to wheel owners...

Yeah, I really hope that their will be a discount, but probably not.
Too much hassle to do it, too much administration.
