Okay that looks like you have to remove the shift plate and install another plate to switch between the H-pattern to sequential. Hmm, hope not or are they going to sell us one of each plus the handbrake as another option?

I think you're going to get both plate right off the box. I love the idea of different materials for each of the plates. I would've preferred if the sequential shifter was completely separate and had a more industrial look to it- similar to what's normally found on race cars or something like this:

But still a great solution and one that seems quite affordable.

I would hate to have to pullout a screwdriver and the other plate just so as to switch from driving an old school car to the high tech modern cars in GT. That would really be a hassle for me. Either they just to take a note from the G25 ease of use but with better feel or just have two totally separate shifters in one unit.

Love the Frex shifter by the way. Wish they came out with a budget wheel and shift kit for PS3 thou.

If the sequential took a plate "over" the gated plate and then was fastened with two screws. No more then four. I would be ok with that.

But the removal of one install other and rinse and repeat to switch back is rediculous.

My idea while still requires some wrenching does take out the step of removing gated plate.

So basically each time you switch. I removed taking put and replacing four bolts of the eight. Time is money errr time is game time burned. ;)

Also assume the sequential plate would need a centering spring of sorts to be a sequential shifter. This has to be integrated into that other plate. It may be just that good that it won't be a such a hassle to change.

Either way. I can be bothered to change some bolts. Easier then swapping real trans. Let alone easier then a shifter swap. :)

Looking at the picture it doesn't seem like you're going to need to switch the plates every time. When on sequential mode, the shifter seems to be perfectly aligned with the 5th and 6th speed of the H gate, so you could get away with using sequential mode without changing the plate, just being careful you stay aligned to 5th and 6th.

even changing four screws would become a pain in the arse, especially when playing games like test drive. what i dont get it if its a simple plate change then why are the screws on both plates in different locations??? actually you are seeing different sides of each plate so they could be different on both sides but somehow i doubt that.

well thinking about it a bit more maybe the screws on the h-gate are not in the same position as the seq because the screws would be too close for comfort to the engraved numbers 1 and 2

They just have to combine the shift gate in one by adding a separate row for the sequential part.

Frys has the T500 for $499 today through next Thursday. I know the ones in GA have at least 10 on the shelves at each store.

If the T500RS sequential shifter is more like the G25/Fanatec, it should emulate and operate the same way as the paddle shifter on the T500RS. If you're hard pressed for time, the easiest solution is to leave the stick shifter for h-gated/clutch use and use the paddle for race cars or any cars where you feel sequential shifting makes more sense.

I'm sure TM added the sequential option as an alternative to those who are willing to go that extra mile for realism (when driving GT race cars , for example, although almost all recent GT and Super GT cars have moved from sequential shifting to double clutched paddle shifting in the last couple of years).

How do you actually know this?
You have to go to wikipedia or something?

I'm running the same exact setup and get no movement or wobble. Try tightening down the bolts a bit more

You misunderstand. I refer to the "feature" of the WSP-T500RS-DELUXE stand that allows you to rotate it on the horizontal axis. There is no bolt that one can tighten to control it. Sometimes while dirt racing, etc I rotate it a little on accident.

Also, if you extend it very high, you'll get just slight vertical motion.

All of these things is very minor tho. Very awesome product. I just need to ask WSP about this though (just keep forgetting)

UPDATE: Wheelstand pro responded within the hour and said there's a bolt I need to tighten to get rid of that. I'll give that a try again. About my 2nd issue they said that's normal. It's the 1st issue though I found annoying so this will be great to resolve. Won;'t have time to try til later. Good advice here btw ty

UPDATE 2: I had to tighten the clamp used to adjust the vertical height. After tightening the bolt now it's solid as a rock as advertised!

That's the cheapest i've seen it... Go for it! 👍

If I was visiting my parents house I would swing by Fry's in Downers Grove right now and pick it up for $499. I will be getting one for sure, just a matter of time.

I own a G25 wheel hence the knowledge regarding paddle shift/sequential shifter similarity especially when it applies to most sim-wheel. In regards to real life GT racing ie. FIA GT1-GT4, Super GT etc, it's from following the races this year which would also include Le Mans (and ALMS). For example almost all the GT500 race cars (I believe the grid is 15 or 16 cars) from Super GT have switched from stick shifting to paddle shifting (although some had already switched since 2010). And the Corvette ZR1 race cars (the C6.R GT2 the same cars that race in the GT2 class at ALMS and the GT-E class at Le Mans) made their switch this year and the team was having some issue with the paddle shifting system at their first race at Sebring (the first leg of ALMS and InterContinental Le Mans series). Although I'm not sure about the 911 RSR but I do know for a fact that the BMW GT2 (or GT-E) have also switched to paddle shifting.

On the other hand, it doesn't take much knowledge for some logical thinking- ie. the paddle shifter on the T500RS = stick sequential shifting (that will be an option with the T500RS stick shifter) thus making it (the paddle shifting) an option to those who can't be bothered to change the plate/are in the hurry.

Here is the direct link. They sure don't make it easy to find in their ad or website. :grumpy: They are not on sale at my local store so I would have to buy it online and pay for shipping.

The Downers Grove store was willing to knock off $70 to compete with Amazon's 'no tax' policy. But, they would not compensate me for my gas for the 5 hour total trip! Amazon got my purchase. Speak to a manager when you want to get things done.

Can I ask why you thought a store would or should compensate you for gas for a 5-600 dollar purchase?

You know, being cheeky and asking for discount or haggling is not a very British way of doing things.

A guy called Domonic on tv (forget his second name) showed quite well how to do it.

Going into major retailers and asking to speak to the manager got him upto 15% discount on goods.

Not many people attempt this but it can be done.

That gearshifter will be a sequental shifter as well? Awesome! If they only released a new version of T500RS with alcantara wrapped around it when I would defenetly buy it.

It's here.
Gonna report later.
Is the light supposed to be green or red while in GT5?
The light on wheel that is.

Also, when not in a race the T500 is "locked" to middle and moving it makes the motor kick in, can anyone else confirm this?

That is relative to pedals set up.

If you run rally mode. I do believe you want red light.

Run F1 style you want a green light.

Check manual be sure I got colors right.

Yes the wheel stays center when not in race.

Yeah, figured it out.
Was gasing with the clutch :D
I just though I read somewhere that one was PC and one was PS3.
Thanks anyways

Yeah, I know what you mean, but asking for gas money? Parents and companies you work for give gas money, not stores when they are already being very reasonable with the price.

Well good news and bad news. The bad news is I had some extra money coming to buy a Thustmaster 500 but suddenly had to use it for something else. So I guess I'll have to settle for my old wheel.

The good news is "smallhorses" a friend here from GTplanet. Informed me that thier neighbor was selling a Porsche Boxster with only 15k miles for less than $15k. Well I couldn't pass it up, so now I have a new set of wheels instead of buying a wheel. Pun intended. Hehe!
