Thrustmaster just posted this pic on facebook, along with the following caption: "J-1: Stay tuned, tomorrow, the new Thrustmaster racing device for PlayStation®4 is unveiled!"

Could J-1 mean "Jour -1" referring to its reveal, or does it have to do with the name?

Ugh... looks like another crappy little fan will be up top there.
Also the all black plastic casing looks even more dull than the two tone T500 plastic casing.

That said, I hope it performs well and is reliable as well as sturdy. That's all that matters in the basis anyway.

Well the technology to have a motor that doesn´t demand a fan costs too much? I don´t think Thrustmaster are prepared for a wheel that will compete with Bodin wheel wich costs as much as a brand new BMW 5 series. I do have a feeling that it might not be as much of a deal afterall, it will probably just be a TX wheel with PS4 compatibility, and of course a tiny stock wheel from Toys"R"Us large enough to fit a toddler.

I think you're referring to the Bodnar wheel, FWIW -- Leo Bodnar is the one who makes a high-end FFB wheel, I'm the guy who makes load cell mods and other stuff for the TM wheels.

How do you see it uses a very different cooling system. The gills are the same. I suppose it´s just a TX take two because you can´t market a Xbox One wheel as a PS 4 wheel or vice versa.

The smaller form factor make me preferr the base of the TX over the T500RS big time. That Kinect thingie I have no use for is a bit annoying with the F1 rim as it builds height unnecessarily. It´s still black plastic it´s stealthy enough while racing. This is why I am not worthy of a CSW I don´t care enough about nice design :). I don´t believe anybody buy a Thrustmaster because they look good :)

As for rim will see I realize most would not understand this but the F458 Italia rim give the TX much much better ffb and feel then the GTE rim as long as you are a solid 9x3 racer. If you tend to hold on the top and bottom for some odd reason the plastic will not impress. The TX can make use of small light rims because the brushless motor is so much smoother but it has even less torque then the T500RS which already have trouble driving larger rims to my preferences. I don´t want constant heavy ffb but I want contrast not something that is clipping constantly :).

Leo Bodnar and there is several more projects on the go. Though I suppose Accuforce will be first of the newcomers.

I might have expressed myself badly. I meant to say that I am disaapointed they did not choose a bigger size fan, like an 80mm fan.

Yes sometimes you wonder how much money do they save overall by using the absolute cheapest button and fan possible? It must be significant in the large scheme of things that it´s worth some more rmas due to overheated wheels for example or malfunctioning steering rims.

Hey guys I need help. How can I reestablish the center value of the wheel as explained in this document?

http://ts.thrustmaster.com/download.../T500RS_AutoCalibration_Centering_Process.pdf

The document says to press Start, Select and Mode simultaneously. My problem is that I only have the GTE wheel, and the ST and SL buttons are in the little manettino switch. This means I can't press them simultaneously... Any ideas?

My wheel is calibrating 3-4 degrees to the left.

This is offered with absolutely zero warranty whatsovever... but, you could try reflashing the firmware to the wheel. This should likely reset all values, like center, to the defaults. Worth a shot. Short of that you might try contacting thrustmaster. :(

Good thing I had centered mine before I got the GTE rim, they are a pain in the ass to take off after you put it on.

I can't really get a grip on the collar that holds it in place. I did it once, and I hope I never have to do it again.

Ever.

If that rim can work on a T500RS, I'll throw some money at Thrustmaster.

Also, if it's compatible with the TH8RS, then Y U no clutch pedal!?

If this is compatible with Thrustmaster 3-pedal products, then they should offer the wheel by itself as well so I don't have to buy pedals I'm never going to use.

brushless motor and new belt system is an improvement though I feel over the T500RS. I am not to bummed I got the TX particularly since it has a better stock rim. This one looks more or less like the GTE 458 rim and the F458 Italia is the one giving better inertia and force feedback they are talking about in their marketing lol

Looks to be a slightly improved version of the TX. I think it's good that they want to keep the options down with the pedals, but why the hell not sell the base separately? No one with the money for a wheel like this will be happy with the pedals and will probably get T3PAs or T500 pedals. You're paying to not use the pedals.

Hey guys, quick update about my issue. I contacted support and they told me that the button combination you need to press in order to reconfigure the wheel's center with the GTE wheel is MODE + SCROLL + RIGHT PADDLE. Note that there are no instructions for the GTE wheel in TM's documentation, and this wheel doesn't allow you to press ST + SL at the same time.

I haven't tested a lot, but preliminary tests show that my issue is fixed. :)

Edit... Reading the press release.... "and a PS3/PS4 sliding switch on the base".... Probably rules out T500RS with that rim for full PS4 support in menus.

I suspect that T500RS GT rim support (which wasn't available for the TX) is only enabled when the wheel is in PS3 mode....

I apologize if this has been posted in this thread already but at 305 pages, I'm trying to save some time. Has anyone replaced the gas and clutch springs in the T500RS pedals with stiffer springs? I would like springs about twice as stiff as the stock springs.

If they intentionally busted
Depends if your T500 pedals' springs are torsion or compression.
If torsion, this may help.

Wow. I don't know how I missed that before. I've had this post bookmarked for a while:

But I really don't even know if that method would work on mine (assuming I have the torsion pedals since I'm V2).

I'd like harder springs, but I have my pedals hard mounted and it's really difficult to get them off. So I've been lazy about opening them up to see what I'd actually need to look for.

As much as I love the above clamp idea, I have plenty of those lying around and they have a ton of resistance. I would thing they'd be way too much for my taste.

I wonder if you can get more of those little brackets from the stiffer brake thing and just use them on the gas and clutch? I think all 3 pedals on the tray has the holes to mount those brackets...

Thought about that at one time, that would be ideal but the gas and clutch have different hole patterns. It wouldn't be hard probably to drill new holes though in the base of the pedals to accept one of those realistic brake mod thingies that TM includes. The other problem with that is that it would give the gas and clutch pretty much the same feel as the brake which is just a really stiff pedal without much travel so that might not be best for precision with the throttle. I just think the stock throttle spring is really soft and mushy.

I have the basher bushing thing and I am running the 2 stiff one for the brake. But the soft ones by themselves might get the extra resistance you want without being super stiff like the brake.
