The University Thread

Working on applications now, the struggle is real

It was an easy call for me. UK was the only school that offered architecture in the state, and it was right here in my hometown. Being a general university, getting in wasn't hard at all.

By chance all of my close high school friends are all going to colleges in Lexington as well.

I'm going into my third year at Baker College's Owosso Campus. Baker is a business college that has several campuses in Michigan, but only the Owosso and Flint campuses have dorms (at least they're the only campuses I'm aware of with dorms). I'm an Accounting major, and since Baker starts really late, I'm moving in on Friday. I'll be living with my brother since he goes there with an automotive major. I'm also taking all night classes this term since I have a class that is only offered at night. Figured that I should just take all nights because it's easier to get into a routine that way. I'd frankly rather take day classes, but you gotta do what you gotta do when classes are only offered at certain times.

I went to college once. It was quite a while ago. Didn't bother to learn anything, just got high / drunk a lot.

Currently in my 2nd year at uni studying Politics and International Relations.
We don't have majors and minors just one straight course. Although I am learning Japanese on the side.

Just started my 3rd year of 4 doing Music Performance at the University of Chichester.

I'm in the middle of the second semester of my first year doing a BA in Anthropology. Currently writing an essay on hairlessness in humans. :P

On my second year of 3 in studying Automotive electronics systems - EE towards cars basicly. Last year I was quite a bit upset that most of the subjects had so little to do with the profession (*cough*Psychology, Language culture*cough*). This year seems to be more promising though. Surely we still have things like Innovation Management where words like Marketing and Customers are used excessively and we'll have Economy and Law subjects next semester, but atleast now we get to see how a transistor looks like.

I think it's BTEC, I don't remember exactly . What was bad about it for you? I'm personally enjoying it at the moment.
The fact that I didn't want to study IT.
The reason my year was hell was a number of things not just the course.

Why would you be doing modules on Psychology and Language Culture on an Automotive Electronics degree?

A lot of US Colleges/Universities tend to throw in a bunch of stuff with no relation to a degree to even acquire the degree at hand.

Our education system trying to be fancy I guess. I tend to have a zero craps given attitude towards those, skip the majority of classes and do half arsed assignments aiming for the minimal passing grade.

Proud University of Texas at Austin alumnus.

I considered alternating orange and white letters but I thought better of it.

Currently University Centre At Blackburn College student in HnD in Electrical Engineering. Got my HnC, and over next couple years hoping to progress onto a Degree and BEng.

Well, my second week of the term starts on Monday, and after a week, I remembered why I absolutely hate night classes. Why did a class that I was required to take have to only be offered at night?

Define night. How late?

I have a horrid timetable on Mondays. 10 till 6 of solid PowerPoint presentations. Yay.

6 P.M-10 P.M. That's the latest classes that are offered, and the instructor for that class makes people want to fall asleep.

I bet I can rival that guy. One of mine pauses after every word for some reason.
But a class until 10pm? Ouch.
