hehehee, quite on the contrary, it had me giggling at work and my fellow employees looking at me in a peculiar manner.

Am I allowed to pelt CFM with rotten fruit if he wanders into our Div3 thread? It's our turf, right?
That ----->

will be much more efficient than rotten fruits.
But CFM is our  moderator  , so it will be a risky attempt anyway ;)

Aaarrggh. Nurburgring in week 6?!? I already feel a cold coming on. Maybe I'll let Joe (my B-Spec driver) do that one. The Nurb is the only track he does better than I - probably because he can stay on the track at speed and I can not yet do that for Nurburgring.

lovemymiata i can point you to sevearal videos of the nurb, with skilled drivers (no not me) at the wheel.

4 vids with 3rdgenracerX at the wheel, 3 of them are at the ring.

Rudi Rasier does a lap in a Arcade M3

so there is 4 vids in total of the ring, all which should help you. When learning the ring learn it in sections, dont worry about the whole track just learn it bit by bit. For me i learnt the start and end fairly easy but forgot the middle a lot (1st carusell - just before 2nd one). But after running it for fun a lot ive now pretty much memorized the whole track.

Also do the nurb license tests
A - 7 Cornering - Volkswagen Golf V GTI
A - 14 Cornering - Audi TT Coupe 1.8T Quattro
A - 16 Cornering - Mazda RX-7 spirit R Type A (FD)
IB - 2 Cornering - Mercedes Benz SL 500 (R129)
IA - 13 Cornering - BMW M5

They are normally crucial sections which can gain or loose a lot of time, especially A - 16. Gold them if you can but if you are unable to always watch the demo and you should be able to at least silver them :P. When racing the nurb try to visualise, or at least know the next 2 - 3 corners so you are able to set your car up for them and be prepared, that way no corner is a suprise. Once you have learnt the track and are able to predict the next 3 turns or so from anywhere on the track then you go about refining your lines, and watchin the vids more closely.

I hope i helped you!

Thanks for the Nurb info. I've driven it several times, but need many, many more to be competent (read "can stay on track"). My biggest concern is not my ability to drive it well, but the time it will take to be competitive.

What's the average # hours/week you folks are spending on WRS?

Last week averaged about 2 hrs a day ... too much really ... this week will be less. I didn't drive Monday, only half an hr on Tuesday and not at all yesterday. I'll probably do a couple of hours tonight, at least an hr, same tomorrow, maybe double that Saturday and Sunday ... but then I like to have the Monday "off" and if I OD on Saturday, I'll hardly touch it Sunday.

Last week i did 200 - 220 laps.

So normally 4 - 5 hours a week, depends on how fast i reach my limit.

Maybe 10 a week. Try to balnce my 2 additions throughout the week, pluss time to talk to the g/f when she is on-line during my evenings.

Need to get back on my GT Mode game also to progress that more.

I must admit, all this WRS has made me somewhat less reliant on the B-spec driver. When I do play the GT Mode .. which is rare nowadays ... I want to do it myself :P

How do you know this? Did CFM post this somewhere by chance?
I love the 'ring'...do we know what car might be selected?

Thx-

I have you moving from 41 to 26, although this is unconfirmed and I'm still working on the board (I also want to make sure that the results become 'official', because typically one or two drivers get mis-placed and it ends up as more work for me). I'll have it finished towards the end of the work day, probably.

And a damned fine win, btw ... any chance of you posting a replay? (if your NTSC) ... I'd love to see it.

Boards and pdf attachments have been updated ... it's all close at the top and with several racers being promoted and week 6 looming, we're sure to see some interesting jockying for position over the next few weeks!

Gud job Nat!

and fast too!

Keep it up, the regular 18ish member's from gt3 have got their hands full with us lot snapping at their heels!

Look forward to seeing ya in d2! (all join hands and think of fast corners)
👍

I had i strange feeling that as long as i participated this week i would be moving up, and i did even without having enough time to put in for this weeks race.

The main thing i think is missing for me is a nemesis to race against and beat. To help keep me motivated.

You're ugly and ya mamma dresses you funny.

Enough motivation?

The only time you'll catch me, sucker, is when I'm doing my slow victory lap.

Which ... erm ... is not a "victory lap", per se, but rather a celebration of leaving you in my dust. I mean, c'mon, you can't beat a girl?

Thats really the only reason you are winning, your right it just isnt fair to beat a girl.

And ill just wait till CFM gives you 20 laps round Nurb while i have one, i think i may beat you by a second or two then, sure youll be lapping me, but i think ill have time on my side.

I've recruited both my son and a neighbor into WRS. So we have not only the online competition, but our own in-neighborhood competition. And so my local nemesis is Jmitch17 because he'll come over Sunday or Monday night, be several seconds slower than my best, than come Tuesday morning, he's chortling over beating me.

Maybe that's what I need, somebody to chortle over.

Well, I guess I am to be in someones dust .. (looks at most of the pack in front of him).. will say the freindships are more important though.

Working with Nat on this leaderboard, and on the side us helping each other push the Ring, ect. That is what it is all about.

Most definitely agree on that. I'm hoping to improve, but I'll never be up on the top of the leaderboard. Sunday and Monday night even get a little too stressful trying to really push my times, but I immensely enjoy the comraderie (you drove WHERE on the race track?!? :) ).

So where's the pre-race tailgate party?
