Yes, I tell myself that whenever I look at the leaderboard also!

I finally got some times to post, and I think they put me firmly at the bottom of the leaderboard. I simply don't know the back half of the course well enough and I'm just coasting through corners that after I go through them I realize they were full throttle. This is definitely a two week course, so I don't know if I'll find enough time to learn the back half any better.

I think you may have missed a "1" there Kolyana...The Ring' has over 177 turns/corners from what I've heard/read....though I've not counted them in the game to confirm this as of yet... :D
 
Funnily enough, I read 170 too ... but something I came across more recently - perhaps even the official site - proclaimed '70', so I adjusted accordingly.

I could, of course, change the phrase to "A DAMNED LOT OF INFERNAL CORNERS" ...
 
I'm not one to get technical. There may be as many as 170 turns on the course. But to officials of the course, there are about 70-80 turns. They'll count a chicane (right, left) as one turn. As well as a double apex. Personally, I'd rather have it counted as 'actual' turns.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I could keep up with some of the speed demons if I could sit down and waste my day braking my thumbs... Or reading about how to go faster...

For this week, oye, this track is awesome, and yeah, struggling to keep it on the track the whole time. I've got up until t4 down decently, but after that, it's not as good as it could be, well, when is it ever, but seriously... The current Div. 3 leader is soo much faster towards the end there. If I play a couple hours a night and get one clean lap in that's faster than my previous, I'll be glad. So that means, I have one more day to go faster, and hopefully I'll find that third clean lap, or maybe even a 4th/5th/6th... We shall see! PARTY ON! 👍

I had a hard time making a decent t1 for a while. I was thinking, "wtf? I can barely make a 1'16 run at t2!!" I finally got it down to 1'09 after a few hours and I was very pleased! But then I went to change my ASM a bit and found out that I had been running +10% weight and -20% HP. LOL I felt like a real idiot afterwards. But I learned the track!
 
@KLR142 ... there are a lot of GT4 players in Portland and a good chunk of them are right here in the WRS!

LoveMyMiata, his son "I don't Know" and their neighbor "jmitch17" are all in Div3. Then there's "jump_ace" and "tuff420" from over at gttimes. Jump actually headed to Seattle this last weekend for a intense GT4 lan party (4 big screens, FIVE ps2's, 4 wheels and lots of drivers. Apparently they run it a few times a year, so we should get our asses up there sometime!)

Oh, and it hasn't gone un-noticed that you've arrived at the nth hour and knocked me off my #2 spot ... damnation, that sort of thing happened last week, too! One day I hope to be the driver that doesn't get pipped at the post on the final lap!
 
Lol, yeah, Tuff240 is the reason I'm here, he didn't have internet and gave me a call to find out what this week's "settings" were, and I was like, hmmmmm, what's this....? 💡 We're going to be roommates in a month and a half. He's faster than me, but I'm not too far behind. And I didn't really spend enough time on the qualifier, so I don't know how long I'll be in Div. 3. I might just stay here, but maybe not, we'll see as time goes on. I read Vexd's write up last night after I posted my time, and then decided I had to hit the track again... I'm consistently getting better T2s, (mid-low1'05s, I even got 1'05.045 once!), but wasn't able to keep it on the track for a full lap. I've found a better way to get a good T4 as well, ran a 2'11.9xx, on the same lap as the low T2 I think actually, but yeah, messed up later. What's new? :dopey:
 
You need to get your ass out of this division, before I'm consistently coming second to you, buster! :P

Maybe we'll get chance to hang out in r/l at some point; tuff and I have spoke about it several times.

After the grueling challenges of The Ring, we're now seeing a strong push by SimRaceDriver, Driven -USA- and Kolyana for the top two spots; all three narrowing the gap on Steve57 and mkay.

A big hello to the huge swarth of new guys who hit Div3 this week and here's to hoping that they stick around and give us the great competition that they did in week #6!
 
Congrats to the Div3 podium dudes SRD, rykov & Driven:cheers:, and for SRD & rykov in breaking the 6 min barrier awesome 👍 .

Well done to all who tried and did thier best, in what was a grueling and frustrating week 👍.

Thanks a bunch for the Unofficial Div 3 list you've worked so hard on creating! Looking forward to more great racing and competition with everyone in the coming races.
 
I'm so very angry at the moment. My PS2 up and died last night so I could not verify my time if I wanted to. And I spent so much time having fun on the 'ring, I thought I'd have a great time! Too bad I'll never know....

I've fixed the damned thing before but if I have to keep fixing it, what point is there to using it over and over again in short bursts? I thought for sure I had it perfectly fixed this time! Curse the Sony execs who decided to make a flimsy yet powerful console.

ooooops, had my table upside down, makes more sense now :D *bounces off a wall in his skyline*..........and you know how far the walls are from the track in the Week 7 race :)
 
Lets see, 177 turns & I was 20.551s behind D1 winner so I lost between 1/8 and 1/10 sec at each right or left no matter the severity.
 
lol, sadly i do not drive a wagon much, when only the JPN version was out i was one of the small amount of ppl here who had the JPN version and i provided a lot of photo mode shots specially of the pimped out black 240 GLT w/ gold allloys lowered to the floor with a big spoiler lol! :)
 
Well didn't drop as bad as I thought I would. Figured 15th with the DNF, but only 13th.

@Nat ~ I will be happy the day I can put a 1 in my column. :P 6-0 girl, gratz.
 
Also, this is the week that we will start the Best 6 in the scoring. You will start to see people drop off the leaderboard if they haven't run since week #1. The gaps will also start to tighten up as we go through the weeks to come.

If you need a better understanding of how this works with the best 6 of 8, ask. I will be happy to explain. Nat and I have been doing well with this, and we are just about to the point that the leaderboard is just about at point of put results in, and POOF, everything else is done. Just from both of us, thank-you for all the comments also.

Also of note, the WRS column is by our formula I put in. Once Cryill puts his results up, I will bounce this to make sure our calculations are correct, and if not, we will get that corrected for ya's.

Tell me about it. I've tried three and they all handle VERY differently ... still not sure which of two I'm going to settle on *AND* I have to get used to the track (never been on it before and I have no idea of the line through a few crucial corners).

@Teledriel ... thanks for the props, although a few guys appeared out of no where after posting no T times all week and it bumped me a little lower than I wuld have hoped (for the time I put in). Still, closed on the leaders and came 6th on a very intense week, so I'm a happy camper :P

And "YES" ... I want to see you in my rear view mirror again, buddy ... heck, even in front of me ... ours is the original rivalry and I need you to find your groove!
 
Well I got my partial wish. GT Mode and Motegi East Short Course. Just was missing the SLR. :(
