Oh I'm not going anywhere ... I may race in D2, but I remember by beginnings and I am sure a lot of you will be joining me soon!

Suggestion: use a slightly higher compression when you save the jpeg over at imageshack. Took me a while to view it on dial-up. :)

Nice work though.

*waves bye to Koly* I know you're still working on the leaderboard here, but we'll miss your competition!

Yeah, I'd rather not use an image at all ... a few weeks back I could make it smaller in size and compress it more, and despite the quality loss you could still read it ... now when I reduce it by 100 pixels in width or try a higher compression, some of the details get lost.

I'll try to be more aggressive with it next week, but FYI, Teledriel is talking about putting all of this into a D3 website, so maybe we won't have to struggle with this *too* much longer!

no car :/
Why don't you get it? I had to do it earlier today also... Just popped into my current fastest car, did the second race series thingy in the Special Conditions race, and then went to Plymouth and bought the SWEET Hemi Cuda and put a hundred grand into it and smoked all the Muscle cars in that race. Easy as pie! You're not going to give up on it are you? Shouldn't take more than an hour to complete...

And w00! I got to spend a little bit of time on it, don't know if I'll have time or access to the game to improve at all, but after about an hour of half playing/half watching a movie/not concentrating and using TCS I managed something that's better than nothing, so I'll at least have SOMETHING to submit this week. I shoulda spent a few minutes to just get SOMETHING to submit for last week, to help me move up in this D3 leaderboard that you two continue to so nicely maintain... 👍

Thanks for still doing the board, Kolyana.

And with you being promoted to D2, maybe another podium is in this one for me sooner now! ;)

Heeeeeeeeeey, that's the one I got! What a fine looking muscle car!
IT IS! I love it! The first wing(the plain one level one) works on it too and it doesn't look too bad. The orange/black scheme is HOT. Looking at the car in your garage, the front view, oooh, hot stuff, and then the exhaust pipes coming out of the rear lower panel, ooh more hot stuff! It's a beaut indeed!

And I'm using an orange(Vitamin C) Bird this week! The orange muscle cars are the bestest!

OMG, you used the 'Cuda and won? I spent over 200k on that darn thing and still got smoked in straight-line acceleration which is where muscle cars obviously excel. I ended up buying a Corvette last night and smoking them back. Wasn't really worth it though, except now I can compete in this week's race. still 12k for spending over 300k is not a fair trade, even if the color was cool on the 'vette--the dark burgundy metallic!

I picked the yellow/orange one ... it's like a yellow color that is way more orange in appearance. Quite sexy looking.

The only thing that I found is that along the main NY straight it didn't have enough top speed, so I had to go back and drop in a fully customizable transmission, but otherwise it's handling, speed and throaty roar were really sexy ... and that's coming from a girl who really doesn't like muscle cars.

God, I'd love to see a muscle car championship as a WRS event ...

Try using a png or TIFF file format. Sure some people may not be able to view that on Internet Explorer (n00bs) that's their fault for not getting a better browser! lol *cough*Firefox*cough* Those two file formats tend to have a better data retention (TIFF is considered "lossless") and still have a fairly low file size for quicker downloads. TIFF is the larger of the two, but you should be able to alter the image in any way you want without losing much, if any, data. ;) Play around a bit and see what you come up with.

I always thought TIFF were non-compressed and freaking HUGE ... but I'll play around with both formats you've suggested there. I must admit, I've shied away from png simply because of the early days of browser incompatibility, but that was YEARS ago :P

It's not uncompressed: it uses the LZW compression logarithm which is pretty much lossless mathmatically speaking. Sure if you put it under a microscope, SOMETHING might be lost, but it would be minute. You MIGHT be thinking of bitmaps (.bmp) which are saved pixel by pixel and are not compressed and generally take up megabits at a time for a standard screen shot (600x400 pixels).

I've hear animated gifs and some pngs don't work with IE, but those I have not been able to confirm personally. I use Firefox!

I use Firefox, too :P and I think a huge growing number of people do ... it's very refreshing to see a browser gain such ground so quickly!

Quite! It's more refreshint to see that there are so many people working on it diligently and not for money or fame, just for the sake of their being such a great program publicly available. Props to those folks at mozilla. 👍

Uh... Where were you shifting? I probably could've won by ONLY spending 13,500 on the supercharger(and maybe the racing tranny). Main thing is to get the tranny and make full use of it. Tune it for WAY high top speed(auto tune high), because this car makes its power WAY below it's redline, thus you have to shift WAY soon, like 5-6krpm, somewhere in there anyway. It sounds like you were shifting it too late thus when the engine was making something like 50 horsepower by the time you'd shift. Makes a HUGE difference. So yeah, I was using the 'Cuda.

Koly..👍 I agree with that, Love the muscle cars!!

....will post in the suggestions, unless its already there.:dopey:

Go at it!

I'd really like to see a choice of muscle cars - all with their pros and cons - with perhaps x-amount of dollars allowed for upgrades (rather than a capped HP or something). With a little research, we could find half a dozen closely matched cars and let people go at it!

Well, if ya look at my other posts, would of only had 1 day to try to win the car, maybe 2 and then 1 day to WRS. I will not be near my GT4 for 10 days while I take my first trip home after 1 year being here in Japan.

Aww come on, one hour isn't a whole day, and then you can possibly squeeze in an hour or so for the week, that's about all I've done so far, sometimes it's better than nothing. Either way, I'm just giving ya a hard time, no NEED to play GT4. Have fun at home!!! :)

Question To Those Managing Div 3 Leaderboard:

Why is it that after 9 races completed in the WRS, there are only 6 drivers in Div 3 that have a "1" next to their name for 1st place finishes...?

May sound like a dumb question but the fact that I've been up now for almost 24 hours is making it a wee bit difficult to 'think' right about now! hehehe!

I would imagine that regardless of the number of 'starts' someone has, that they would still have managed to get their name up on the leaderboard?

Thoughts/suggestions/Ideas....are fully appreciated! :D

Everyone who has been promoted over the weeks has been moved out of the table ... but also out of the drivers list (I'll be gone next week :(), which also removes their wins with them. Because CFM has typically waited for people to win before promoting them, this will explain where all the 1's have gone :)

Thanks for the headsup there Kolyana!
Much appreciated!...👍 X2

I'm confused, how come i'm not up there? I've competed every week... I know I didn't have any winning times or anything... hmm... do you have to have top 20 finishes or something?
