He can be told something and then at the last minute it gets changed therefor leaving him holding the bag. This sort of thing happened before with Jordan I believe where he actually had good information but then it never panned out.
Yes, this is the real issue; pushing out any update for GT6 is a major undertaking, and requires the synchronization and approval of QA testers and SCEI legal teams around the world. Then, if one "i" is not dotted or one "t" is not crossed, or one region finds an obscure bug that only manifests itself with a certain language setting, the whole process has to start over again and it's going to be delayed another week. It's not generally worth it to share this with the public, because most people won't know or understand what is happening when things don't work out, and it just makes the person (or PD/Sony) look bad.

I could, for example, say that 1.12 is scheduled to arrive September 16th at 04:00 GMT/UTC with Circuit de la Sierra, Quick Match online features, the FT-1 Vision GT Concept, and the NISMO GT-R. If it is delayed at the very last minute by some unforeseen circumstances and has to be pushed back another week, though, the average person will think I was being misleading or dishonest. So, 1.12 will just get here when it gets here. I doubt anyone here wants it to be released more than the folks at Polyphony Digital.

Amazing to see some of the skeptics start hanging around this thread as we grow closer to the rumored date...

Not being a skeptic at all, its called being realistic. Nothing officially has been announced so there is no reason to think otherwise. Also, there is no reason for anyone to complain if it doesn't happen for the same reason I stated above.

@Jordan Yes, that is exactly what I mean. That's why I've been saying that its best just to wait for an official word from PD/Sony. Even with an announcement from them, a delay can still happen but at least the announcement had come from a credited source.....the ones that are actually responsible for the update.

+1 for this.
Besides, usually there is an announcement that there will be a server matinance for 2 hours before an update, and obviously none have happened since August 19-20 (I think). I won't be surprised if 1.12 is NOT released in the next hour or so but I would be nice if it was.
And people please, there are more important things in life than just a game update. We all know it's coming this month with a new track and some exciting cars (can't wait for the Toyota FT1 VGT I'll admit). But complaining and moaning and whining are not going to help. (This does include me as well). Let's just sit down, enjoy a nice drink, and maybe watch some television or play a game while we wait.:)

It's like they don't bother to mention if it's normally available to the commoners.
