The Vehicle Wish List & Info Database

^ I may as well wait for other Aussie automotive enthusiasts to chime in. As an outsider, I may never be right one way or another. :indiff:

I don't mind what you do, I'll figure it out. If PD chose to put the cars in we get the model they choose so it's not like we'll get a car that never existed in the game because our wishlist was slightly out.

So you mean is we shouldnt be as technically accurate as possible because at the end of the day its only a wish list?

Btw heres an informative post (#3) by Motorsportnerd with the basic jist on the whole HDT being separate to Holden for specific cars only etc http://www.ultimatecarpage.com/foru...y-all-ford-day-all-clubs-day-amc-masters.html and also on the whole VL Director error try this site http://www.brockcommodores.com/
under "fact files" for VL.......and if all else fails do consult the wholy grail for all things Aussie Muscle....Australian Muscle Car Magazine!!!!

^ The second link looks pretty useful, and I'll dig onto that later. I was pretty much busy on compiling Ford Mustangs from US and Austrailia. :ill:

-> Now the issue is, are these cars under HDT, Holden, or Brock? The link you gave says 'Brock'. ;)

-> Now the issue is, are these cars under HDT, Holden, or Brock? The link you gave says 'Brock'. ;)

lol...............its confusing alright, as not all the HDT cars belong under Holden, just the ones made before Peter Brocks split with Holden. If you want I will run a list of all the "brock" cars for the wish list and submit it for discussion (if its wrong!)👍

Pretty much, such technical technicalities don't mind me too much. You guys can figure it out if you like, just letting you know I'm not fussed either way.

Ford

1956 F-100

Reason for including in the ultimate GT vehicle list. The 1956 F-100 is simply without question the most customized truck of all time. Meaning that due to its classic lines and stance it has been customized more than any other truck in history. It would have to rank as one of the top ten trucks to be included.

How about

-> Sorry about the long delay. Other than the glitch at the C-D post, I was at L.A. Auto Show this past weekend. I had an online blackout, my laptop was refusing to receive any connection in L.A. so I was out of comission for few days! :grumpy:

^ My aim is the utmost accuracy on all the cars that has been requested. Yes all the cars are legit (so far), the only thing that slows me down are their history especially with the lack information provided. :)

-> This may be by far the most tedious I had done, mainly because I disected the Ford Mustang one-by-one. :scared:

Shouldn't all the Shelby Mustangs be under Shelby America and not Ford?
^ I had this issue back in V4.5 before. At first, I thought the Shelby Cobra GT500 was made directly by Shelby in (North) Las Vegas. But I finally found out by going to the Shelby Museum and at the Friendly Ford (a dealership who carries the most Shelby'd Ford's). That the regular production GT500, GT500KR, and the upcoming GT500 Super Snake was primarily done by Ford's SVT arm.

-> While the others, like the Shelby GT, GT-H, Terlingua, CS6, CS8, and the darkened headlight Super Snake concept {with the colaboration with SVT} (which I saw at the Shelby museum) are made in my home town.

Sorry about the long delay in reply TVB, but from Page 11.

-> TA63!? You didn't mention this car before.

I had in my listings on Page 10. All cool though. :)

NOW, ONTO THE BROCK ISSUE!! :mischievous: Since I am Aussie I can give you some insight into the Brock Commodores and their confusing monikers.

Peter Brock (wikipedia it! :P) won all of his Bathurst victories in Holden's. The first was in 1972 with the LJ Torana GTR XU-1 (an Aussie motoring icon). This continued through the 70's with the famed LH Torana SL/R 5000 (L34 edition) blowing up in an unbeatable position, then the LX Torana A9X and his final victory was in 1987 with the VL Commodore.
When the Holden Commodore came out, Group C was in full swing and with the homologation rules gradually coming into effect, they needed to build X amount of vehicles to qualify the car for touring car racing here in Australia. The Group C Brock Commodore was the first of many cars to come out through models from the VC to the VL (1980 to 1987). This was brought out by HDT (Holden Dealer Team) which was back then the 'un-official' Holden Racing Team. Brocky had purchased HDT in 1980 after Holden felt there was no more competition in the Australian Touring Car Championship. All the models that were released from HDT were showroom specials that you could tick extra options for from the dealer. 👍 The VH Group III is the Brocky of choice for afficionados & collectors these days.

In 1987, HDT split from Holden due to a conflict between Brockie and the Holden board over an item called a 'polarizer' which was fitted to one of their models, the VL SS Group A Plus Pack. Thus HSV was born and they came out with the VL SS Group A Walkinshaw. HDT still continues today here in Sydney in a low key 'private' operation. People here in Oz will remember the HDT Aero released after the split.

mafia_boy-> So meaning to say, that these HDT Commies are under Holden; just like Ford is to FPV and SVT before 1987. So after 'The Director', HDT and Holden parted ways and Holden created HSV (according to Wiki). Is that correct? And I already know Peter Brock before I knew about HDT. ;)

historyM_m.jpg

^ The last hurrah between HDT and Holden. ^

buickgnx88-> Sorry for the lack of reply. I'm busy intergrating a lot of cars other than yours. ;)

I think more like the Tickford Program that Ford had as its performance operation for cars like the AU TE50 Falcon, also similar to AMG and Mercedes Benz operation before Merc bought them out (took full control).

Read page 2 of the official brochure that states the "New HOLDEN Commodore SS Group A"
http://www.uniquecarsandparts.com.au/brochures_hdt_brock_vk_group_a.htm

And please go back and fix the listings as said by myself in previous posts!

Or alternatively do what you want as I'm over it!

Thank you and goodnite!

That is correct TVB. HDT is HSV before 1987. After the parting, HSV was born properly, and the Walkinshaw was the 1st car released by HSV (affectionately known as the PLASTIC PIG!!).

Yep, the VL model HDT Director. There was a VK version aswell, which was the first Holden to use the 304ci 5.0L V8, after they retired the faithful 308ci 5.0L V8 which we had been using since the 60's!!
