Hiya! :D :embarrassed:  Meow! (='.'=)

I don't think I can watch! :scared:

I personally don't think any of the future owners of the Veryon would try to strip the luxury and restrictions to tryout 3000HP....

I would like to see it happen though! :embarrassed:

That would be a friggin' CNN report if ever

Guy buys the worlds most absurd and expensive car. Then immediatly goes at it with screwdriver, hacksaw and plasmacutter to dig out those missing 2000 hp he desperately needs :D

take the 1000 out of the exhaust... no problem... take the 1000 out of the cooling system, and watch 1.2 million dollars worth of car melt into slag in just a few minutes. I'm guessing with optimized exhaust, this thing could do 1500hp, but any cooling system mods would require a water system which would also run dry after about 20 minutes, or so much in terms of air duct work that the car wouldn't be able to hit 200mph.

Heres some info for you, the guy that owns Spyker is interested in getting hold of some W16's used in the Veyron for top spec Spyker's.

He's after them so I assume they either fit or he's planning on building a bigger chassis for a new car. Let's face it, the Veyron's engine isn't huge, it's a similar size to a V8 and I think an 8 liter V8 would fit in a Spyker chassis, it's mainly a case of mounting points.

Oh the Veyron isn't even produced yet? I thought it has for quite sometime now. :( I don't follow cars that I KNOW I will never afford unless i'm like richer then Bill Gates or something.

I dont know much about Spyker, but is he planning to make the fastest car or something? :odd:

Any power boosts would probably cause parts to melt. They had a hard enough time getting the cooling good for what it has while keeping it's performance the same without adding nitrous injection or so on.

Maybe, Spykers are pretty much like the designer brand of car at the moment. People who buy them don't buy them for track performance, sure they're fast but for that cash and power they could be faster. But they look stunning and everything in the interior can be trimmed to your spec and they attract the Monaco crowd because of their exclusivity and how good you look in one. You can choose what level of tune you want the egine from 400Bhp to 750Bhp (it might be more by now). They may attempt a 250Mph car but I'm not sure theres much point in them doing that.

He'd have to come up with a longer wheelbase if he wants that W16, though... not for space, but for some stability. Can you imagine something as small as a Spyker with an engine like that?

Hiya! :D :embarrassed:  Meow! (='.'=)

I still love the McLaren F1 just the same regardless of the Veryon's new record. :embarrassed: Tiff Needell proved that the McLaren F1 is a usable supercar for daily driving and thats what I will always love about the McCutie! :embarrassed: Luggage space and 2 extra seat is a big plus for a supercar in imo.! :embarrassed:

About the record breaking...

I think that new Saleen S7 Twin Turbo have a good chance also. :embarrassed:

I had no idea to the new S7 was going to have a 1000 horsepower option until I saw it in Motor Trend's buyer's guide. I had only heard about the 750TT.

I can see the Veyron getting raced in LeMans 24h sometime mates.

I seriously doubt it...

How much work would be required to make it legal? It would also have to be limited to certain power regulations and no amount of stripping would get it down to a really competitive weight.

If the Veyron races in the Le Mans 24 hours, I'll eat my hat :)

Doubt it.

Maybe the engine but I doubt the chassis. You don't see Enzos, CGT or SLRs being raced so I doubt this will either.

But the McLaren raced in LeMans so thats one reason i think it will race. And give the Enzo time mate.

But the Mclaren was designed as a race car gone road car. There were many versions made so it could got to Le Mans and drive on public roads. At least to my knowledge. Also it wasn't a luxurious car by any means, unlike the Ferrari, SLR or Veyron.

You dont see enzos and cgts and slrs because think about it for each manufacturer thats their flagship car and for it to lose would be very bad for sales.

Sorry but that's BS. That's like saying no-one should compete because if their cars lose they risk losing customers. E.g. DB9 sales have gone down the pan since LM.

Of course you might have a few people buy another car based on races, but that would be very stupid, because most race cars are completely different to their road car counterparts. Not to mention there are so many other factors to remember.

EH that DB9 is a bad example and I think most people can vouch. Why should ferrari and McMerc bother spending all that money in lemans when their cars are already selling and popular enough and have only got more to lose from not winning le mans than winning it.

The DB9 is in the race as aston arent racing anyhting else at the moment and theyre attempting to raise their profile and position themselves as not just a fast luxuries good looking car but one that can go round tracks quickly aswell and go against the best like ferrari.

Cause if you ask anyone which car do they think would be faster round a track eitehr a ferrari made or aston martin made they would all say ferrari as ferrari are known for that. Its like when audi started racing in the late 70's so people would recognise their cars as sporty and not just luxury.

I don't get what you saying. Are you implying that Veyrons won't sell? You've never said it but without that thought I don't see why we're having this discussion.

But why race the DB9 and not the Vanquish? The DB9 isn't designed to go around tracks. I admit some other LM cars aren't but the DB9 especially.

Fair point, the car in question, teh bugatti, isn't exactly slow by any means.

Yeah but the DB9 the consumer gets is nothing like the race car. Just the body shell and probably the wheelbase is the same but other than that theyre nothing alike. Hell if vovlvo wanted to race in lemans they could just do up on of their s60's and enter the race.

But neither are the Ferraris. Okay there are special versions, but I doubt many of them are still anywhere near the real race versions.

Well, except for the C6.R and Z06, which were developed side by side using much of the same technology.

Oh, isn't the MC12 in Le Mans racing?

That's an Enzo, basically.
