Well, here we go! I am downloading the cars and tracks right now. I hope this works...

I figure I will spend a lot of time in the "test" area. Just myself and the track. It should work ok. I hope.

Edit: Well it seems to work just fine! Cool.

I spent about a hour in a test session, getting the feel of things and so far so good. Lots to learn, lots of confusing things on the iRacing page, but I will figure it out. A little at a time.

Thanks again to you guys, this site is awesome.

FYI -

iRacing are currently beta-testing a native Mac client, so you won't need to bootcamp into windows.

The biggest hurdle seems to be FFB drivers for the wheels.

The estimated final release date is in a couple of weeks.

That's my concern. I'm running last year's Retina MBP (4 core i7 @ 2.3GHz, Nvidia GT650M) which should run iRacing comfortably but I don't think it'll work with my T500RS. I don't think TM makes drivers for OS X. I can pull my old G25 out but I'd rather use the T500RS.

Do you all think this would handle iRacing on medium graphics?

Intel i3-2100
Radeon HD 5450
6GB of Ram

I would eventually upgrade the video card.

Anyone driving with Intel HD4000 integrated graphics? Plan on using a work laptop that is above minimum spec but not by too much. CanIRunIt.com gave it the ok against minimum, but less than recommended spec.

Have a mini pc running Ubuntu but I need to check it's specs out. If I sign up on the laptop, presumably I can also try it on the other machine, right?

Old post, but that should run medium pretty well. Depends on how much memory (Or space) is available on your video card. And if you want to upgrade and save money get a radeon 7770 HD GHZ ED. Its 2 GB runs iRacing on max everything at about 80 FPS, and runs BF3 on High with a few Ultra High settings.

Well, I think it's coming to that time where I am going to grow a pair and get triple screens for my current rig. I will be waiting until June to make any purchases but, I'd like to know if my computer/graphics card will be able to handle it on near max settings. As well as if triple screens will even work with my single graphics card. I have not chosen any screens yet, will probably wait until mid May before doing that to get the newest stuff on the market. I'll be hoping to get 3, 22 inch, 1ms, 120hz screens running at 1920x1080. Will my graphics card be able to run 5760x1080?

Computer Specs
i7 3770K 3.6ghz(?)
16 GB RAM
MSI Nvidia GeForce GTX 660Ti Power Edition

Cheers

Should work on max settings around 50 fps I think. If you can get ine with a slightly better graphics card, you will be able to get 80+ fps.

Don't really expect Gran Turismo graphics. The graphics are really good but, it all depends on how good and how much memory your graphics card has.

so which game looks better??? gt6 on ps3 or i racing maxed out???

On track during a race. iRacing has the edge for me.

GT6 known to drop FPS and the game just flat sucks whe it does IMO.

My rig runs at 105 FPS steady with a capped FPS. So smooth. The connection to the servers are so much better.

GT6 At full FPS and no connection issues. Is a pretty game though.

@OwensRacing pretty much covered everything. Replays won't look quite as good as say GT6 replays but, the graphics while driving are really quite impressive. Now that things like dirt and rubber build up on the car have been added, it looks superb.

My rig (i7 3770k, 16GB RAM, GeForce GTX 660Ti 2GB) Will run iRacing on max settings with uncompressed Trading Paints files at around 100 FPS fairly easily. Considering the graphics card the computer you showed is a slightly newer model than mine, yours should be fine for max settings I think. Things like sponsor signs may appear slightly blurry though. I am not really sure if 1GB is enough memory for it to render everything in iRacings max settings.

@mlbguy4life

I would personally wait to save up a bit more cash and get something that you will be able to use for a longer period of time.

I'm sure you have watched a few videos on YouTube of iRacing but. If you want a good idea of what iRacing replays look like at 720p, here's a video that should do it justice. I record at slightly below 100% so, some of the edges are a bit shakey but, you get the picture.

And an onboard

(sorry for the double post)

i have decided on the final specs for the pc i will be building(along with a friends help)
cpu - AMD FX-8320 3.5 GHz 8 core processor

Any reason that i cant play iracing on max settings (1 screen)???
i have been told that i can play battlefield 4 on ultra settings at 60+ fps , if i wanted to...

That will be plenty. I'm not much of a AMD guy so, I couldn't tell you exact things but, I believe that car is comparable to the Nvidia GTX 760 which is a really good card. Easily be able to run max settings, even a triple screen setup might be able to run near max settings with that card.

Im wondering if I can run iRacing on my All-In-One. Its a Gateway One ZX4351. Heres the full specs:
http://www.theverge.com/products/one-zx4351/953

AMD Athlon II X2 240e Processor 2.80 GHz
10 GB RAM
64-Bit

Im not expecting it to run it, but if it can thatd be great. Ive got a GT wheel I use with gran turismo, but Id like to try out iRacing. Thanks for the help!

my 2012 Mac book pro runs iracing fantastic. i port the picture from my pro to a 47" television and the frame rate and picture is bang on.

Anyone else having problems with this after the last Mavericks update? My HDMI port no longer works with my TV. I've tested 3 different cables that all work with my PS3 but won't work with my Macbook Pro. Any ideas?

Try overclocking your stuff if you haven't already 👍 .

Anybody have any suggestions for TV's / Monitors? I need to get a new one for my new apartment. I've been leaning more towards getting a monitor because I mainly play PC games, but will occassionaly play GTA5 and FIFA on my PS3. Was thinking of around 24" or smaller in full 1080p.

Any insight if an Nvidia GTX 770 (2 GB) will run a 3 monitor setup on a non-high definition setup? Trying to make sure that is enough video card to run on mostly max settings. Processor is GHz and 8 GB of RAM. Thanks.

From what I've heard from others with similar cards, it can run triple screens on close to max settings but, on certain newer courses as well as circuits with a lot of trees like Spa, it will not be able to run close to max settings. I think you would be better off buying 2 cards of a lower spec. That is what most people do, I think.

In case this helps others - I have just joined iRacing and am running it on a laptop. The spec is as follows:

Asus X552Cl
6GB RAM
i5 Processor
Geforce 710M

I can run with most settings at high, and achieve 50-60fps at 1920x1080 (running it on to a TV). In solo practice sessions I can get 70fps. With more cars on screen it can drop to 35fps in some busy races. Seems ok at this rate though, but can be increased again by sacrificing settings. Same for the larger and more detailed tracks.

It's not a particularly visually intensive game, but it is an awesome simulator, and I am amazed I can run it so completely on a £400 laptop.
