Quit hating towards PD already. :indiff:
I honestly think we deserve to hate them for a moment.

  • There has been over a year since the last Prologue update
  • They promised a world wide Q4 2009 release, but now they're releasing it in late Q1 of 2010 and in Japan first
  • The game has been in development for at least 5 years, yet they're only 65% done

GT fans are too damn lojal to PD and Kazunori, and he knows it. He knows he can do pretty much anything he want and still sell millions of copies.

People whine about the whining, but why are we not allowed to be disapointed and share the disapointment? Are we gonna pretend everything is fine?

I'm disappointed. But if more development will make it a better game, I'm all for it. I'll just leave it at that.

By the way, where did the "65% complete" comment come from? Did Kaz say that in an interview?

Well, said, what PD has done is probably the worst development history of a game ever... every other game ever hasnt taken this long to build and the release dates and features and have been released periodically..

How can we possibly not be angry? how can people be happy after 5 years wait and essentially No information?

It came from a Kotaku blogger who doesn't speak Japanese, but saw a bunch of percentages and assumed it meant that's how complete the games were.

Of course, it listed "80%" for Clockblockers A Crack in Time, and that game is going to go Gold any minute now.

It is clear now that the first wind is 🤬 now.... or isn't... im curious how he can make it fit that:

"First wind whispers that final reunion will happen thirty nights before twelve months pass and that all winds from the whole world will reunite in the same moment for the first time."

means GT5 will be released in March 2010

March 2010 is eleven months after he posted that quote.

It's also the final month of Sony's 2009 fiscal year.

If you take it as 'thirty nights before twelve months pass' from the date of Amar's post (Apr 2009), it is correct

yes sounds good end of march....
maybe worldwide, usually Japanese version went out in dec with an april pal version...
maybe march is cuz Japanese, pal, us will be released worldwide..

I just thought about something.
Maybe the winds were correct when amar posted 'em but perhaps they're not accurate anymore.
Maybe PD changed their timeline or made different choices during this year and the winds are now incorrect.

I'm not saying I'm right, it's just a question.
Anyone ever thought about it ?

I find it comical how everyone is now claiming amar's post clearly meant GT5 would be released in March of 2010. Have you people even read through this entire thread? Go back and look at how many people--intelligent people, moderators--thought his post meant GT5 would be released at Christmas '09.

And by the way, no EU or US release date has been announced yet, and no simultaneous worldwide release has been announced yet.

Personally, I didn't know what to make of his post. I thought people made compelling arguments for both interpretations--March, 2010 release and X-Mas 2009 release. However, when the GTPlanet News section announced GT5 would be released in '09, and when it was also announced at GamesCon, I bought into the hype like a moron :dunce: :banghead:

As I posted in the TGS thread, it basically says in 11 months it will be released. No matter how you add it up December is not 11 months after April. People got their hopes up that it would be out this year, they saw one person say "It says 12 months, December is the 12th month", decided it sounded good and ran with it ignoring the truth.

You're right, but I also want to point out that some people might've gotten the idea of December from the 31st of December minus 30 days (12 months of the year pass, minus 30 days), which is December 1st. For those who got November out of that, I don't know...

How does that add to the discussion, Schmo?

_____

Oh no, GT5 won't be out before Christmas. Big deal. I'd rather they get everything right then ship out a half (alright - 65%) finished game that needs patching and updating every time you go to play it.

Sorry, dont believe in silly riddles. Especial after the fact something happens and come back to it ans say, "See thats what I meant"

Its the Nostradamus effect. There is a different in predicting whats going to happen, and writing a riddle and claiming its true after the fact.

no he has to do it like that Schmo, he signed an NDA with PD, he can't just say, oh it comes out so and so

I understand that. I have nothing against him, I praise his info. I'm just stating that riddles can viewd in different ways, then when one doesnt work out, they can turn it around and claim 'oh I meant this instead.'

Thats all.

Amar's riddles aside, since E3 Sony has been saying, albeit read between the lines, spring 2010.

Like most everyone else, I didn't want to hear that, but it was the underlying message all along.

I just want to point something out for anyone who feels that Amar or Sony lied or whatever:
I just want to toss out a reminder that this does not clarify fiscal or calendar year. Fiscal Q4 for Sony is January-March.

Keep that in mind folks. This does not necessarily mean a 2009 release.
Again, Sony's Fiscal year 2009 is April, 2009 - March, 2010.

Q4 2009 can mean Calendar Q4 2009 or Fiscal Q4 2009 (which is calendar 2010).

Note: I am not saying that it won't be Calendar Q4 2009, but I am making sure this is clearly stated so that if we get the game on January 12th or something that people aren't screaming about how they lied. This sort of nonsense happens too much on this site.

My full intent is two fold. One: To hopefully prevent the whining and gnashing of teeth. Two: When that inevitably fails, quote myself and tell the whiners and teeth gnashers to kindly shut up.

EDIT: And also again, IGN is quoting us. They did not give us new news.
Please, feel free to quote my bolded part in any of the angry threads.
