I just want to point something out for anyone who feels that Amar or Sony lied or whatever:

Please, feel free to quote my bolded part in any of the angry threads.

Totaly on board with you there, but... No company gives release dates in fiscal years as it confuses the general public. For example (Not GT related): A company says released 4Q 2009. The public would assume Oct- Dec, not their 'fiscal' year of Jan-Mar or whatever it maybe.

This is just a huge example of what I said a few posts above. Riddles can me so much, and the originator can claim after the fact so many ways. 30 days before the 12th month: Oh I meant that from the day I posted it, or I meant from the 12 month calender year, oh wait I meant its from the 12 month of our fiscal year.

It confuses more when it says "2009" even it meant Q4 of their fiscal year. Also the riddle actually said 30 days before 12 months pass, so if that was referring to the fiscal year, it'd be February. Actually it may be March 1st since March has 31 days in the month, so either way yea, you're right.

Whatever it is it doesn't matter now. Things are different and whatever they have planned now is probably not the same to what they have planned a year ago.

I see you pratically predicted the future there.

Not sure why everyone is interpreting getting mad at Amar. If anything, you guys were the ones trying to interpret what it meant. Untimately, you guys can't blame Amar for the way you tried to interpret it. There hasn't been any clear meanings, only ones assumed.

Yet, if you go back and read that whole back and forth I had, I was clearly pointing out that it could happen that way and that it would not be new for Sony to do it. My whole point was to tell people to not get angry if it comes out later because we all jumped to a conclusion...and I was apparently right to do so.

It's almost as if I have been on this site for 4.5 years and know how people can act.

I was never once referring to Amar's post in that conversation.

I was, in the the quote you originally quoted me on. I was just stating why people shouldnt read to much into riddles. Breaks people hearts when they are wrong, and the originator can use multiple outs, as I posted, to back there 'claim'. Not saying anyones wrong or right, just dont read to much into it. I'm not angry, maybe a little disappointed, but do to mainly everything Jordan quoted on the front page.

I don't know why some people are blaming Amar? Allot can change from the time Amar had his insight to now. I am sure Amar's info was correct at the time but obviously things change, especially PD has it's fingers in!!

You can blame only yourselves for taking everything he said as Gospel!

Just want to say thanks to Amar for sharing the information. It clearly was from some source, I'd rather have known it than not known anything, and it's not your fault at all if things have changed. Talk about shooting the messenger.

Personally I think Amar played us all for a bunch of chumps. Does anyone remember Nostradamus? Old dead guy, predicted things, spoke in riddles which people interpreted to predict just about everything, but ultimately they predicted nothing? Sounds familiar huh? We heard what we wanted to hear and we got chumped. Thanks Amar, Im sure you got a good laugh out of it.

I agree:tup: Things have a habit of changing!

You know, blaming Amar isn't gonna do a damn thing. Stop taking out your dissapointments on him. It absolutely sickens me that people can't just shu h hell and admit they were wrong and have to place blame on someone. Real mature.

ama212 @ NeoGAF
Haha, sadly I can't.

I just have high hopes that one particular new feature I was told about as being internaly demoed in April - and later denied by Kaz in one interview when asked about - will finally get official confirmation and hopefully be unvieled tomorrow.

This is Amar on Neogaf, I am sure he is talking about the track creator. Kaz denied it a couple of months ago.

Would be cool if thats what it was.

Once again, don't believe the hype. You will only end up disappointed in the end.

Sony and the PSPGO and GTM. That is why no GT5, this year!

I think both of these are contributing factors. I'm not sure if the track creator is it, but I'd be happy if it was.

Just to reiterate, I think these also contributed to the delay:
  • GamesCom damage was criticised widely, as was the limit to only "premium"/race cars/whatever. The decision was made to work on a minimal level of damage that could be applied within licensing limits to all cars.
  • Weather, maybe dynamic, and time of day changes. Perhaps taken from real world track conditions.
  • Race Mod and Livery Editor.
  • Additional tracks modeled.
  • Comprehensive online modes, gameplay and tools, like Auction House, Team/League builder, Season Mode Online, etc.
  • Tweaking the game engine to improve performance for additional cars and weather.
  • Other goodies to increase customer appeal.
By the way, Amar, take heart. You still have a lot of friends here. :)

I can't believe it, some people are actually flaming Amar? Wow, talk about a new low.

Very unfair to him. This release date thing was clearly last minute based on the information provided to (and when it was provided) GTPlanet. I'm still very thankful for Amar sharing with us.

I don't see how you can make that claim? It's entirely possible it was last minute, but it's also entirely possible it has been known all along and the rest is a ruge to keep face.

BTW the argument it's last minute goes against plenty of GT planet members who are touting that we shoudln't be surprised and they knew all along.

Clear-ly (IMO)

Chronology of information provided to GTPlanet

to make it clear.. im not flaming Amar but PD, sony... ;)

I'd blame Sony more then I would PD. In the end, Sony has the final word on things and seeing as they are pitching the PSP Go and aren't using anyone else to promote it.

After all Amar212 was right

First wind whispers that final reunion will happen thirty nights before twelve months pass and that all winds from the whole world will reunite in the same moment for the first time.

That was in April.

April + 12 months - 30 nights = March 2010

I was of the few that believed back then that he was talking about March 2010 but I later changed my mind for a 2009 release.
