That's impressive, what set-up were you running? My best is 2:06.523 running the AM DP-100 and 1 minute slower for the race.
here's my tune and strategy. 24:33 total time. fastest lap about 1:57.

The DP100 can run mid 2:05's, I think my best is 2:05.2 so far. I think it's possible to get in the 2:04's on a really good lap around laps 6-10 when the track is drier and tire wear is minimal.

I’m going to experiment with this. Thank you very much.
I did some more testing, and for the Tokyo race specifically, and the car I tested, it did turn out to be faster to use higher FM with a heavier more powerful car. I used the AM DB11 '16 with RH tyres, and bought two of them so I could have one with 3 stages of weight reduction, and the other with no weight reduction. I kept all the settings the same except the lighter one had less power. The lighter one needed FM2 dropping to FM1 to no-stop the race, the heavier one needed FM5 dropping to FM4, but was still 10 seconds quicker for the race. It might be important that the power difference was the top setting not the bottom setting, i.e. lowering the power curve rather than shifting it to the left. I might try SH tyres some time to see if that lets me make the difference in the bottom setting instead.

The AM DB11 '16 was a fun car to use for the race, my time for the no-stop without weight reduction was 27:30.

You really need to try the lamborghini's. They are some of the best cars for this race
They are indeed. My race times with the Veneno and Aventador LP 750 are in fact better than with any of the Ferrari's I have used.

To be in the lead when crossing the line on lap 1 is something I have been able to do with only three cars........
Lamborghini Veneno
Lamborghini Aventador LP 750
Ferrari 458 Italia

I'll post the screenshots, somehow they must have slipped by.

DeLorean - LS7 Rampage
race time: 26:18
fastest lap: 2:04
top speed: 402kph / 250mph

Since many of us in this thread are testing a lot of cars in this race and since WR upgrades are usually our way to go, might be worth to pay attetion to this patch note:
3. Sound
 - Adjusted the sound effects so that it is easier to hear the difference in sound between Stage 1 to 3 of the ‘Weight Reduction' modification.
WR upgrades can change the cars sounds. Now this is something that I honestly didn't know!

So they have nerfed the Alpine A220,the 2J and the corvette ZR1,all these are way over 600pp now.A lot of my tokyo cars have jumped up slightly to just over 600pp so a little fettling to drop down but no real biggie.PD seem to be slowly taking the fun out of the game.

I guess the Aston dp1 should still work ?

I didnt notice that. But doing this race, today to test out the new porsche (its great btw), i did notice something. Now you get car performance damage with a minimal collision. Dunno if thats a glitch or if it something porposely put in game, but its there.
Still got the clean race bonus. But now I dont know if the 5sec collision penalty affects the clean race bonus.

Should be over 1 second clear of Gallo on lap 1 in DP100 also. Can usually run a 2:27 first lap, sometimes a 2:26

I Also noticed it. If you barely scrape a wall or one of the idiots on the track you instantly have a lot of aero and wheel damage. Also seems as thought the room for error to get a penalty is tighter now. I Still got the CRB so that doesn't look effected.

I did some more testing with the '16 DB11, and the situation with weight reduction and lower FM vs heavier and higher FM depended on the tyres.

RH tyres no weight reduction FM4 27:30
RH tyres stages 1-3 weight reduction FM1 27:40
SH tyres no weight reduction FM6 27:24
SH tyres stages 1-3 weight reduction FM4 27:14

With RH tyres, the lower power was just a lowering of the power curve. With SH tyres, the lower power was much more of a change in shape of the power curve, shifted to the left.

Test drive with the new cayman (WR 1)

WR1 for more acceleration and response, maybe possible completely stock(1 pit strategy?)

Honestly I'm a little disappointed with it. Expected a nimble Sport car dancing through the cornering section especially being a high performance model. It got the grip but felt lazy in direction change. Maybe PD overdone the physics change?

Tire wear looks horrible but only the UI change. Drove normally as usual.

And finally the 356 speedster

Warning: With some wall taps and aggressive blocking.
Glad i did it before 1.20 update or the new wall damage will drive me crazy.

This little beast is surprising fast on the straight with only 191hp. (Basically a teardrop on wheels)
The heavy rear end will find any opportunities try to kill you in corners though.

Im glad im not the only one to notice this,if you put a move under the bridge which is a fave of mine,if the other car nudges you it resulst in iffy steering for a few corners.lol

Just to add fyi,in every race ive ran on Tokyo,Gallio has always pit at the end of lap 5 and 9.This gives me a small advantage, depending on what car i use,to get ahead of him by enough time to come first. However yoday he pit end of lap5 and 8,the same as i always do,unfortunately he got the better of me and i ended up in second place.Im not saying its never happened but not to me since i started playing the game, hes always lap 5 and 9,maybe an update addition or glitch?

So guys, any good improvement on this update ? All I felt is more limitation and restriction. 😞
handling of MR/RR cars.

more slip angle on tires prior to total let go, easy to play with cars on the limit.

Damage is more severe and last longer.(hoping this leads to cleaner driving in sport mode)

Dirt handling

Rallycross track is legit fun

Cayman Gt4 is superb on sport tires.

In addition to my last post regarding Gallo.I did 6 races on Tokyo,3 times he pitted as usual on laps 5 and 9,2 races he pitted on laps 6 and 9,and the other race he stopped on laps 6 and 10.Like i said this is something ive never seen with this race, also it seems the cars have slightly less grip. For example before the update through the twistys on Tokyo i could go at a fair speed through them but now i cant seem to maintain the same speed as before. This might just be a placebo effect but i dont know if they messed with the physics maybe?

I set my fastest lap ever on Tokyo today in the Aston VGT car at 2:08.06. However, the new damage model had me slower and less consistent overall. So I would say the performance is perhaps a bit better with the new Physics model but the other changes made it harder overall.

Nenkai, in the general news tab, said that the mp4/4 is gonna cost 8M and the pontiac 200k.
8M + 200k + tunning for both cars will do about 11, 12 or 13 races on tokyo to get the cash back.
Probably gonna call the awd lamborghini squad, ferrari f50 and enzo, genesis g70, mclaren f1, legendary 3 and 970k, glitched alpine and the veyron for this grind.

FYI - Physics update breaks the existing tune and makes it >700PP. Thanks to @hyperspeed980 for damn near instantaneously figuring out a new working tune - and he found a more powerful version with double the downforce!

The funniest part is that I found it completely by accident. After I found out the old setup got patched, I thought, "Welp, might as well max this thing out and leave it," and as luck would have it, I managed to once again glitch the system!
