Is the DP-100 (Aston Martin VGT) now the fastest known car for this race?

I just tried the Huracan Gr.4, and it can win easily enough, but I'd say it's roughly 4 secs a lap slower than the AM VGT. I also tried the VW GTI VGT, and the fuel is a huge struggle which stops it from matching even the Huracan Gr.4's pace.

I found a very good solution to replace the tomahawk glitch grind. Sure we are all sad that it it gone.
So what i did. I drive the Aston Martin VGT on Le mans that 30min race. U will only drive 7 laps!!! Not 8
These are my setting that i changed.
First u need to buy intermediate tyres, cuz u will need them when the AI will put dry tyres in rain!
Ballast to 200
power restrictor 93 and thats it.
fuel on 6 all the way, but you will have much to spare.
I drove with manual transmission.
And u start with racing hard tyres, so you should have 699.94pp
The rest is stock.
Car is very fast it goes 300 kmh on straights, and my best lap in dry was 3.59.
My slowest is the last one over 8min long, but keep reading and u will see why.....

So ive done the le mans race twice and it had the same outcome.
U will overtake cars easily, just be a bit patient.
Then keep an eye on the radar, i think in the 4th lap it will start to rain while you will be somewhere close to inidianapolis corner, by then you will have probably built a 1m lead over 2nd place car or more. That is the lap where you will pit and put inter tyres on. And ur lead will increase even more cuz AI still has dry tyres, pits and puts dry tires back on. Crazy.
The rain will not stay, it will come and pass and it will be beginning to be dry.
When u reach your 6th lap that will be your last lap of the race for you, but still keep an eye on the AI where it is.
And then i did the 6th lap, but i stopped/parked just before the finish line so it doesnt show 7th lap.
And then i waited the clock to go down and just crossed the line.
I had when i stopped a lead of almost 4m 10sec, and lapped almost the entire field, only the 2nd and 3rd placed cars i didnt but i was close.
So i monitored where the AI was when i was parked and i had about 10sec to spare before they overtook me and i would be 2nd.
When i meant 10sec to spare i mean thats when the time of the race runs out and it shows me instantly final lap, and i just cross the line to win.

So for me this race is much more enyoyable than the Tokyo 600pp wich i also did with AM VGT, no pitstop, but u always need to keep watching that u dont hit the wall so u get 5sec penalty or more, So for me Le mans race much less stressful cuz of the straights so u can relax. For me the way to go now since tomahawk gone for money grind. You get bonus too, i had here and there some penalties for cutting track but still got bonus.
Like i said u drive around 22min and the last 8min u wait and keep monitoring the ai where it is. And you just cross the line when time runs out.
If in some case the AI overtakes you very close before the time runs out, well then quickly overtake it, but u will have to do 1more lap unfortunatley, but i managed it in 7laps
have fun

To make it short
start with rh tyres
Then around 4th lap starts to rain u go to pits put inters on and u stay on them till the end.
U start 6th lap and when u reach the start/finish line on 6th lap stop before the line. Park it
Watch where AI is, cuz should have almost lapped all by then, watch the timer reach zero just cross the line then.
You should have around 10sec to spare in front of 2nd place car.
Mine 2nd placed car was always with 4 corenrs to go when timer ran out, so i just crossed the line, i said it will be close but it is possible to save 1 extra lap of driving

Just did the Tokyo Expressway WTC 600 with a lightly tuned Focus Group B Rally Car. Took me just 27:26.037 and was really fun!

Sports hard tires, high rpm turbo, engine detuned to 592hp (74% of max power) and a little tweak to the gear ratios. Didn't need to change tires or refuel (ended with 3% of fuel). Top speed of 264 km/h on straights and easy corners thanks to 4x4 and 50:50 power distribution for each axle. Even run with TCS at zero.

The fastest car in the race (NSX) reaches 314 km/h at the end of the straight, but can't turn as fast... for the first 4 laps, he keeps on pulling but after his first pitstop, he simply can't reach me anymore and still has to refuel again.

Ended with a 37-second advantage over him. So much fun!

Just to make it any more obvious: any car that reaches around 590PP with either sports hard or sports medium will have a good chance of winning the event. I am not in favor of soft tyres, but racing tyres will cost too much PP so you dont have any power left.

For sure. Unfortunately, the menus are in portuguese (speeds in km/h), but here they are. Just remember: sports hard tires, high rpm turbo, lowest drag aero, street fully adjustable transmission instead of the race one.

Pretty simple check: sports hard or medium + PP anywhere close to 600? You can win.

This is an interesting racing. I was using Mazda Atenza Gr4 and is only getting 2nd position at Normal AI. Even no need to pit at all, but still here or there penalty caused me the whole race..
Probably I should try the AWD car mentioned above..

Just won with Radical SR3. One of a few cars that can zero-stop this race on FM1 all the way through, making it one of the best by default (I imagine sub-27 minute total time is possible).

Thinking about trying the Suzuki VGT but it did feel a bit too slow on the straight. Radical is slow too but it corners better and doesn't have to pit.

I haven't tried the DP-100, but Bree was getting 2:09 out of it pre-1.13, so it's definitely one of the top cars. My personal best car is Countach 25th. I managed 2:08.9 with it, and high 2:09 pre-patch. But the easiest road cars to win with are IMO:

Audi R8
Lamborghini Huracan
Lancia Delta
Mitsubishi Evo IV, V, VI
Subaru STi Type-R, 22b
Toyota Celica GT-Four

They're all light and AWD.

I've won the race with the Audi r8 (My personal favorite, can win consistently now, over 10 wins) And a Ford GT once. (More difficult due to it's weight and tires for a one stopper, but surprisingly better on gas.

I can share tunes for those interested.

The best car for this event is the Lamborghini Murcielago with a slight power decrease. You must buy the power limiter or the fully customisable computer to make it work.

How on earth did you manage that tried the Radical as I love driving it and was nowhere near winning? Have you got a tune for the Radical so I can see if I’m way off with my setup?

Audi R8 for the win, put it on a diet with weight reduction 3, chuck a racing exhaust on, get the power restrictor take that down to 99 everything else stock and fuel 4 all the way and it’s a nice enjoyable race and a win! This car has a ton of grip is super easy on its tyres and despite being 18 seconds in the lead after the AI pitting on lap 10 I ended up winning by just over 9 seconds as “somehow” the car behind had a top speed of about 300mph it seemed as you could literally see the gap decrease massively on the long straight and I was hitting over over 182mph. The rubber band certainly went twang!

Tried Radical SR3 and won. 27'40 secs, second lap ~2'18, best lap ~2'15.

Sports Hard tires, Mid-RPM turbo, 41 kg ballast @ 0, transmission @ 310 km/h, differential 10/25/25, manual shift at 5750 rpm.
Zero-stop with FM1 all the way through.
Looks like another peak-power at much lower than red line RPM that tricked PP calculation situation ...

I did it with a harder suspension setting (more on front than rear) and a bit of added power. Wasnt quite as fast in total time quite very fast in the corners (as long as I didnt spin out).

What fuel map? This sounds an interesting alternative.I tried the Huracan Gr4 on SH but due to penaltys into the barrier i ended up in 3rd.

First focus on finding the brakespot, then focus on not being late on the brake. Then comes the rest.
Not hitting penalties will improve on your fuel economy for not needing the forced slowdown.

1 turn right: watch for 200m and see if your car can go later or needs to be a bit earlier
2 turn right: there is a small "post" on the left wall, subtle braking so you can take the corner
3 turn left to 4 right: some cars can go full throttle, some need to lift and coast on both
5 turn right to 6: braking into 5 when the dotted line on the right begins works for most cars, then either coast or accelerate into the right
7 turn right after the bridge: either lift and coast or braking from around where the bridge is
8 turn left: either lift and coast at the 100m or slightly brake
9 turn right: heavily depends on the car, extremely important not to be late
10 turn left: lift and coast into and accelerate out
11 turn right: most cars are around the middle of 150m and 200m to brake, only very slightly onto throttle so you go steadily around it. Be careful on the kerbstone into the left, FR and MR cars with power will spin there, so take it a bit wide instead

Both the first and last braking zone can run your brakes hot (tyres will glow red in this case), then you need to slightly decrease it so you regain more braking power again.

Was using the Focus Rally Car, sports hard, quite slow on the main straight, no pit stops. Changed to the Audi R8, much faster, sports medium tires, just 1 pitstop needed on the 10th lap for fuel. Hella fun!

Hard difficulty?

Porsche 911 GT3 997
SH Tires
25kg ballast @ the front
racing clutch & flywheel
everything else stock
very fun to drive I put 1500miles on mine thus far doing this race

Average lap 2:12 on Sport Hard. Medium RPM turbo.

You must finish without pitting. Not difficult to do. Remember max power comes at 5700 rpm. No need to shift late and burn fuel.

Hard difficulty?
Normal, but works on Hard too. From experience there's barely any difference between Normal and Hard in this race.

Not sure why this is so hard, I did a lot of racing on Tokyo WTC 600PP with and without Tomahawk X, for all of you that have problems, here are few of my setups that I just came by, most of the cars are basically stock with few additions. All races I did were no stoppers! All races were done in approx 27 minutes, 1st lap usually is 1:35-1:37, then 2nd is approx 1:18-1:20, and then all other laps go approx 1:12-1:16.

BAC Mono - really nice car to drive, keep it in Fuel Map 1 all the time and do a bit of short shift at approx 3/4 of the bar just for more power, has more then enough fuel. Little bit tail happy.

BAC Mono.png

Bugatti Veyron - accelerates out of the corners pretty easy, but it is a chunky boy, really heavy and one can feel it. Fuel Map 6 all the way and short shift at 1/4 of the bar, it is fuel guzzler. Also it does use up tyres quite well.

Bugatti Veyron.png

Ford GT40 - this one I had so much fun with, pretty fast on straight. Can't remember what Fuel Map I used, but I think it was 3, also short shift at 2/3 approx, fuel should be OK. Tyres are pretty good on this one.

Ford GT40.png

KTM X-Bow R - this one was also fun to drive, I think I did this one with Fuel Map 1 also. Tyres are more then good, and also it is a bit tail happy. Short shift at 2/3 of bar, it looses power higher.

KTM X-Bow R.png

Lamborghini Diablo GT - this one has good speed, but is also heavy and a bit tail happy. Fuel Map I think it was on 4 also, and did short shift it at approx 1/2 of the bar. Tyres were OK.

Lamborghini Diablo GT.png

McLaren F1 - really nice one, I have a video of this one also. A bit tail happy, but nothing bad, tyres are also OK. Here is video:

McLaren F1.png

Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren - this one was a bit harder to drive, since it is really tail happy, but having it in higher gear helps a lot. Tyre wise it was more then good, also Fuel Map on 6 and short shift at approx 1/2 of the bar.

Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren.png

Radical SR3 SL - this one was pretty easy to drive, Fuel Map on 1 all the time, a bit of short shifting at approx 2/3 since it looses power higher, and keep it as much as possible in higher gear since, so if you think you need to drive curve in 3rd, keep it in 4th, has great torque curve. Tyre wise is pretty good as was BAC Mono. This one is slowest on straight (approx 270kph), but it does come back on curvy part of the track.

Radical SR3 SL.png

Have fun!

I've been running it with the Shelby Daytona Coupe on RH tires. Stiffened up the springs and shocks, detuned a few ticks, added full ballast. I can get to about 165mph on the main straight, with the fuel trim at 5 most of the time. No pit stops. While the other cars slow down from tire wear, you just go faster as the track dries. Provided I don't get any penalties, I can usually win by several seconds. I've always found winning races in GT using old cars to be rather satisfying. Though in this case it's a bit like bringing a hammer to a knife fight.
