I usually do a 27:00 on average by doing a 1 stop strategy so it's not a problem for me.
I haven't tried yet the GTO, funnily enough, but it's on my list for the future.Well, I bought the gto and tried it on tokyo wtc 600pp. I flushed 3M down the toilet.
Horrible car, even compared with cars from its era like countach and testarossa. It has an acceptable straight speed (about 310km/h at the big straight). But its just way too slow on the rest of the track, even tuned.
Shouldnt have bought it
So you think the C7 Vette is even better than the DP 100??I will give that one a try tomorrow morning. I have run 2:08.265 with the DP 100, I think I can get a 2:07 out of it, I'm curious to try the C7. Does the game say that the C7 is not fuel injected because they are. Does the C7 need the wide body kit for handling or do you think it's worth trying without? Thanks for all of the info. So, it's another day, thus it means it's time for another review:
Chevrolet Corvette C7: the GOAT
So, why the title? What's so special about this car? So, first and foremost, this car has all the qualities the Maserati has: decently good brakes, good handling, and slightly worse acceleration. But there is more to that: first of all, despite having 460 horsepower instead of the Maserati's 535, it has more than 100nm of torque, making its acceleration way better. Then we have the traction, which is bonkers especially for a car with that much torque and rwd, which is another nice surprise this car has. And, last but not least, top speed: the highest I was able to achieve was 316 km/h which, again, it's very fast down the main straight of this track, and it achieves this despite being the least powerful of the cars I've tried! One more strong point over the Maserati is that its 5th gear is slightly shorter, so you don't need to overrev 4th in order to get something out of it. So, this car is good in the technical part of the track, is good on the straight, what's its downside? Well... none. This car is just good, and you will be able to reach the NSX in P1 at lap 4 and take 1st for yourself just like that.
But, you may ask, since it has a 6.2 liters American V8, it must have a bad fuel economy, right? Quite the contrary, it's actually very good. Just like the Maserati, you could go for a no stopper race easily with this car, that's what the lack of fuel injection does to you. Same for tyres, this car is just good with it. Plus, with it having more traction (and less wheelspin in general), they wear down even less than you would expect from it. So it's just that good.
Lap times wise, as you may have guessed it's fast. And I'm talking 2:09 kind of fast, and even a 2:08.9 if I were to pull a good lap out of it without slipstream. No other car I've tried thus far for this event is this fast around this track.
There is also an hidden aspect I usually don't focus on but imo it's worth mentioning, and that is the overall cost of the car: I had to buy the other two, aka the A45 and the Maserati Granturismo, so the initial cost + upgrades are somewhat expensive, we are talking around more than 100k credits. The C7, however, is free since it's a prize car you get from the menu books, and the only cost it requires is wide body, aero stuff and medium tyres. And voilà, you are set up for the race in a car that can do 2:09 spending around 50k credits. You don't need to tune the engine up, nor to take weight up or down, it's just perfectly fit for 600pp.
Final thoughts: this is my #1 recommended car if you don't want to use AWD cars and you want to go with a "standard" choice of car, hands down. Performance and cost wise, you won't get many other cars that are this good (again, unless you are detuning a Chaparral 2J or an Aston Martin VGT), if you haven't already give this car a try, it's worth it.
I ran a 27:37 with the Ferrari GTO for a comfortable win. I’m not a great driver but I’ve had a lot of practice on Tokyo with many road cars. It worked Ok for me and it was very fast down the straight.Well, I bought the gto and tried it on tokyo wtc 600pp. I flushed 3M down the toilet.

Try Praiano's tune. I've won with GTO before but it was a while ago (pre-1.13).Well, I bought the gto and tried it on tokyo wtc 600pp. I flushed 3M down the toilet.

So, no, I don't think the C7 is better than the DP100, as I mentioned in my first "review" post I'm running cars on 600pp by slapping medium tyres on and "playing fair", though anything goes for these races, really, and as I mentioned in the lap times, the C7 could do 2:08s but only if driven pretty fast, so the DP100 is just better, but if you want to try the C7, then please do, it's a fun car to try and I'd recommend it.So you think the C7 Vette is even better than the DP 100??I will give that one a try tomorrow morning. Mitsubishi gto twinturbo is very good, one of my farming cars for this raceI haven't tried yet the GTO, funnily enough, but it's on my list for the future.
Edit: the one on my to do list is the Mitsubishi, not the Ferrari 😅 for some reason I completely deleted the Ferrari's existence from my head.

I did try that one, car was very slow. The tune that gave me the best results was, strangely, one with stock suspension and stock transmission.Try Praiano's tune. I've won with GTO before but it was a while ago (pre-1.13).
Ferrari GTO tune I used for a 27:37. This setup came to 599.97pp for me. I didn't try to improve it, I've moved on to trying other cars for Tokyo.Mitsubishi gto twinturbo is very good, one of my farming cars for this race

I cant make this car any good outside of the straight line. And I tried different tunes.

Thank you
I ended up winning the race, found a good tune for suspension and lcd and the car improved a bit, making it possible to win. C7 is in the range of good cars, but not too good to be true. For that track the DP100 and 2J show how broken PP calculations are. Likely there are other cars that can come close to 25 minutes, but that 1.5 to 2 minutes faster than most "average" cars if we would agree on 27 minutes as an average time.So you think the C7 Vette is even better than the DP 100??I will give that one a try tomorrow morning. The key for me was the manual shifting with the DP-100. Tried it with automatic and had to use fuel map to make it without any pit stops, which made it too slow. I have always used automatic on the controller, and just now see the benefit of manual shifting!Just did it a few more times with the DP-100.
My best total race time was 26:09, but it can go faster than that, I had another race where I did 26:12 with a 5 second penalty, but I was getting bored and struggling to stay focused during the 26:09 race.
Sports hard tyres
ECU 83
Ballast 200/-50
Restrictor 89
I took the slow hairpin in 3rd
Shift from 3rd to 4th at 98mph
Shift from 4th to 5th at 123mph
Shift from 5th to 6th at 158mph
(the above are all around 6500rpm, power drops off after that)
Don't use 7th gear.
No fuel stops.
My fastest lap was 2:07.4, the conditions are fastest around lap 6.
Total race time would be a bit lower with better tyre wear management by partial braking. I used a controller with stick steering and mostly full braking, which isn't the best for tyre wear.
Hello incredible !!!! can you share your setup please.oh, i don't know about that. i can think of a car from 1970 that's pretty effective...

Fuel Map 1, Traction Control 2, ASM on, Countersteer Assist: Strong.
Get new tires and gas after lap 6 or 7.
Here's another run with the Aston Martin DP-100 VGT. I recorded it this time.
And the setup.

Tires used: Sports Hard
Fuel Map: 1
Strategy: Shift up at 7,000 rpm as that's pretty much where the engine's power peaks. Beyond that, you are just wasting fuel as the engine will start to struggle.
Interesed in your viper srt10 guide. Very slow car when i tried and never touched it after...OK, so here is a bit longer list now, added all 15 cars that AI is using (in total 24 cars now), tried best to get them as drivable as possible, honestly up until now, Audi R8 4.2 is one of the best out there, great no stopper, and it can really shine if one goes for single pit strategy.
...was a bit disappointed with Porsche 911 GT3 (996), will try different tune...

What tyres and fuel map did you use? Any tuning parts or set up info?👍So, slightly late "review", but it's time for the 4th car I tried for this event:
Nissan Skyline R32: It's still Godzilla
Livery here.
Well, I think this car was expected by quite a lot of people to be on this list, and I can confirm it's overall a good car for this event: first of all, let's start with this car's strong suit, AWD: it is more stable, overall, than most RWD cars I've tried thus far (with the exception of the C7), though because of its soft suspensions and what seems to be an open differential it's not exactly on rails when under braking, and it understeers slightly more than cars such as the Corvette or the Maserati on fast corners, but it compensates with stability due to AWD. On the straights I've been able to top out between 305 and 310 km/h, so this car is fast - slightly less than the C7, but still faster than most cars I've tried for this event. Thus, I can safely say this car's overall performance is really nice.
One note I'd like to add, when exiting from the second to last corner, do not floor it - the car will just understeer into the wall, so you need to modulate your accelerator input.
Then we go to tyre and fuel economy: here the car exceeded my expectations. Tyres wise, this skyline treats them really well, I had no problems whatsoever with them. As expected from a FWD car, the front tyres are the ones with more tyre wear, though not by a lot, it's something easily manageable. Fuel wise, despite being turbocharged, it's actually pretty fine - I had to pit one lap earlier than what I did on the Corvette, which means that, despite being turbocharged, the car is on par with some NA cars for fuel efficiency, which, again, is quite surprising.
Last but not least, lap times: it's slightly slower than the Corvette, for me, though I think that may come down to driving styles - so different people may get different results. I was able to achieve low 2:10s/high 2:09s with this car, but I bet there will be some people that will be able to drive better than me that may be able to achieve 2:08s, potentially. Nonetheless, it's a very fast car, and its nickname of "Godzilla" checks out even here.
Final thoughts: one of the best cars I've tried, hands down, and also one of the funniest. Good especially on the wet parts of the track, it can potentially even catch up to P1 on lap 2. Absolutely recommended to give it a try, if you can.
Tyres were sport mediums, fuel map on 1 and did a one stopper, I had more than enough fuel for it.What tyres and fuel map did you use? Any tuning parts or set up info?👍
Going to give it a try when i get home.Ive not had much luck with the '17 Gtr so maybe better with this one.Regarding the SRt10,i found it couldnt keep up on the straight so any tips would be great.Tyres were sport mediums, fuel map on 1 and did a one stopper, I had more than enough fuel for it.
As for tuning parts, medium turbo and most, if not all, the engine upgrades that don't require a new engine to be reverted.
I don't know what's wrong.. I did set everything like in your picture and it still has 752,58 PP...View attachment 1158661
