Hi engrmariano

Completed this race first time with your set up today. It cornered like a ship though😮. Thanks so much would never of thought to use a GR1 car.
glad it worked for you. you can use CM at the front to have more cornering grip but you sacrifice a lot of top end speed on the straights. i find the CH faster over all race time.🍻

Hi

That makes sense and you need that top speed as the NSX and GTR seem quicker at their top end.

It's pretty easy to get the clean race bonus with the Toyota Celica GT-Four Group B car. It's not the fastest of cars on this track but it can do the race without pitting and if you can make it through the first 4 laps without touching anyone you can leisurely make your way around the track all alone for the last 6 laps and win 30+ seconds ahead of second place. My fastest is a 27:10 with laps in the 2:12-2:13 range. I'm not running this race as a means to beat some sort of speed record. Thats what Sardigna is for. This race is all about finding the gaps in traffic to comfortably hide in while on the back side of the course, then passing everyone on the straight and getting back into another gap in traffic to hide in. Once the pitting begins it just gets easier and easier.

easy as in, what's the race time and fastest lap?

I'm by no means the best driver, but here are some of my Tokyo 600 weapons.

The GTO has become my favorite. Capable of 2:08s on SH tires.
try the Veyron with lightest weight as possible, i'm also surprised it did 26:42 & 2:06.

it’s one of the fastest actually, it did 26:37 & 2:09

What tires are you using to hit 2:09's and still make it to the end without pitting? I run sport hards and when running 2:11's my front tires are completely red by the end of the 11th lap. I would imagine 2:09's would burn your tires out even more making the last few laps pretty dicey.

So.Did Tokyo this morning and managed to get the CRB.I used my Imprezza 22b,on SH,which for me has always been a safe steady win, just pitting for fuel or both on lap 8.The first lap i tentatively spent trying to thread through up into about 6 or 7 th position,a few more at the hairpin, taking a wide line.Rather than trying to overtake a good few in the first 2 corners on lap 1,which is where most of my barrier contact/AI contact generally takes place,i took it steadier.
I had 1 barrier contact, the fist right hander after the long straight,it was hard enough to have got the 5sec penalty but not a wall ride impact,i though that would be it but not the case, this obviously needs some testing from everybody to see what counts towards not getting the CRB.
Would i be able to do a totally clean lap with something like the A220 or Delta glitch?I dont know, them first laps on racing tyres are pretty mean.

Thanks for this! 'm late to discovering the Tokyo WTC race. I've only had the game for a couple months, and have been focusing on the Le Mans, Sardegna, and Spa "long" races for the big payouts. For some reason I've been fearing this one, and with good reason it seems. I'm glad I found this thread.

The Imprezza is a great drive on this course! I used a fantastic tune from @praiano and was able to fairly easily win once I got a hang of the course and how the car handles. It's extremely fun to drive on SM tires. Even though it is a bit slower than other cars on the straights, it corners like it's on rails!

Once the course dries out, my best lap times are around 2:12.0, and I'm able to win fairly easily. And I'm not nearly in the fastest racer category.

Now I need to focus on the CRB and trying some other cars.

I do wish there were more races with big payouts across more tracks that didn't all involve rain. Sardegna is the only "dry" race, but I'm already bored of that track. I love Spa, but slogging around in heavy wet conditions for half of the race is not my idea of fun.

How are you getting 2:12-2:13 out of the Celica? What are you doing for a tune? I tried it and it's much slower for me.

So last night my son tried it and used a car that I didn't even consider.
The NSX '17. Sure it was stock on sports hard tyres. (On easy) it was an easy race. Just an A.I collided with me costing my CRB.
The hybrid 4wd grip is good even on sports. And the speed on the main straight surpasses pretty much all the others. Bar which the GTR is about equal.
1 pitstop and using FM1.
Afterwards I'd looked on this guy's YT as he does credit grind videos (I've used his BMW le man's one) and he had the NSX. Which makes it Even better.

The Group 1 Road Atlanta event is dry. Like Tokyo, any contact with AI with cost you the Clean Race Bonus. You will also lose it if all four of your wheels ever leave the track. Nitrous is allowed and the PP limit is 950, so this is a MUCH faster race than any of the other common grinds.
The purse is 320,000 or 480,000 with the CRB. Pay attention to what the drivers tell you before the race, and note that this race has some different AI drivers.
I've been told here this isn't a good race to grind because of the low payout, but after a billion runs at each of the others, this and even St Croix are welcome despite their lower payouts... 320k/480k for Road Atlanta and 200k/300k for St Croix.
I actually cleaned out the Honda dealer today by winning the Road Atlanta event. I spent a couple of hours running it as practice for the exhibition race.

I often jump into other WTC800 or Gr.1 Prototype races when I'm a bit bored of Sardegna these days. Most of them are a shorter race but pay much less. Regardless, they break from the monotony and give a new perspective on some of the grind races.

Some of those courses are pretty cool, too! Road Atlanta looks great at sunset. The bridges on High Speed Ring and St Croix give me the sense that I'm going over some really Grand Valley or something. And the rock walls at Sardegna Windmills are very detailed...especially from Face Plant distance. Ask me how I know! 😵

i saw this the other day, go straight to the tuning part, and drove it. then wtf?! it’s not fast at all. i came back to watch the video and see if miss something, and yes he’s wall riding.

i mean, wth?! if you just want to wall ride, just use full power, full weight reduction, and CH tires.
