Things That Should Be Updated/Implemented

One of the few issues I have been having that haven't been solved yet is a small one but makes such i difference. The ability to adjust the POV in the cockpit view.

I don’t follow. Cockpit is the POV. You can look left and right. What are you hoping for? Stick your head out the window?
No, for instance, when you want to adjust the height of your view, or the position forward to backward and vice-versa, that is what I mean when I say getting that fixed. When you go to adjust your view in the cockpit, it prompts that you can only adjust it while in the car in that view. But once you are in the lobby, settings don't have the option for you to adjust the cockpit view.

Field of view isn't exactly what you're talking about but it's close. FoV adjustment is a glaringly omitted feature in the GT series.

What you're talking about is seat and height adjustment and I agree that there should be a universal settings adjustment for it.

Bonnet/hood camera on all cars. Not just roof. I like to see the front of my car when driving so don't like bumper view, but most of the roof views are too high, too far back, or both.

I just want a proper bonnet view from the bottom of the windscreen. It's another of those basic things every other serious racing game manages, but not GT.

Completely different feel and FOV. I don't want to actually feel like Mr Bean sat on the roof, I want to feel like I'm in the cockpit but without the fixed distractions from cockpit view that my eyes would blank out in real life.

Not to mention the inconsistencies of the roof view. Try driving the Mini and you'll notice the camera aims at the floor more than the horizon. Getting a penalty essentially restricts your vision to about 20m in front of the car.

Another exam is the rear view of the Skyline Super Silhouette which is blocked by the antenna smack bang in the middle of it.

The Lamborghini Huracans are another car with a poorly aimed roof cam.

This is something I noticed with the interior views back in GT Sport, and it looks like its continued through to GT7. A lot of the cockpit cams are not lined up with the centre of the steering wheel which is thoroughly annoying to look at if you have anything more than a small amount of OCD.

I'm not sure what they are using to aim the cameras but it is clearly not working as there are a lot of inconsistencies or poor quality control with them.

I would like a rear view mirror with the over the bonnet view

i would like the option to not race against players using Wheels

i would like the option to not be matched with other players - how many times do you see the same people in the same lobbies race after race - yes I want to not play with people I think are dirty

I would like a revised BOP formula as is leaves too much variation on the cars

linked to the above - I would like to see different BOP handling models - generally it feels like a understeer model is used but you would never set a race car up to understeer - road car yes race car no - why not 2 models - oversteer and understeer - I prefer a car with a back end that moves but a planted front end - BOP delivers nothing for me

I would like to see an influx of new models - where are the latest generation cars both road and race?

I would love the ability to drive a car in locations ala Forza, would like to be able to drive cars in a non racing setting - say in the hills around Kyoto while daily races are there - GT claims to be The Driving Simulator - but you can’t just drive… it’s racing or nothing

i would like to see the game teach racing - where does it do that? It makes big things on etiquette and the theory of how to drive an s bend in 3rd gear super smoothly - but where is the lessons on how to race, how to set a car up etc linked to a point below there are great tuners posting here - get them to do a masterclass to share their thoughts on best practice for car set up

i would like to see …. to see a fit for purpose penalty system - I know I can but dream - I understand the PD are doing nothing with this but in the races it’s biggest problem - see no evil hear no evil doesn’t cut it

linked to the above I would like to see Polyphony communicate with their user base - employ a community manager to engage with the users, share insights, maybe pass back some of the frustrations in the community but give the developer an opportunity to engage and respond to the issues of the day.

just a couple of thoughts from me

Should also be individually adjustable for each car.
The worst part is that it could be individually adjusted for each car in GT Sport and the game would save those settings.

Just like TCS could also be adjusted for each car as a setting in the car setup/tuning screen(and I always complained that ABS should also have been in there too).

Just one of the little things that GT Sport had and got it right...But somehow, for no rational reason, it did not carried over to GT7.

Something small I’d like to see fixed: When you make a pit stop, the crew should have the tires you chose to put on the car, instead of the ones currently on your car. This is most noticeable when switching from racing slicks to wet or intermediate tires.
And the wheels should have holes for wheel studs and hub bores. And the style of wheel should match from front and back view of the wheel for all wheels. Pay attention to the wheel style (back view) next time you change tires in the pits on the SSS.

If you start the race on two different compounds front and rear, the pit stop should take this into account when changing tyres.

I use RM on the front of my Silhouette and RH on the rear; come the time to pit, I can either replace all 4 with RMs or all 4 with RHs (or any other tyre I own, available within PP constraints).

What if I just wanna change the worn front RMs?

If its some sort of regulation (that you cant mix compounds during a stop) then odd compound combos shouldn't be allowed to start the race with.

They have these options implemented in GT7 as I type this. It is the little red button called EXIT.
Do not want to race against wheel users? EXIT.
Do not want to race against known dirty racers? EXIT.
Simple as that....

Maybe you should have a look at the name of this thread, take a page out of your advice book and then take a EXIT from this thread.

Relatively minor but both related to the HUD:
1. Let us customize HUD elements. Visibility, size and position.
2. Allow for the pitstop UI when you have the HUD disabled. I keep forgetting that you can't pit without it enabled and end up just wasting time.

they should allow you to be with the camera you use when being in the pits. idk why they force you to use chase cam, and you cant even look back or change the camera in any way. Its a small change but... just why be stuck on chase cam?

Maybe it's just me but a way to reset the distance driven in each car world be nice (or at least from the use car store)... I'd like to know the distance I used each car.

I absolutly hate, that I cant switche the music in Menu. and that the tracks chances in every sub menu.
I agree. There are certain songs that I just literally can’t stand to hear again, so annoying after the 5,000th time. You can turn off certain songs in races but not menus. I gave up, turned off all in game music leaving only the sound effects on and stream Spotify through PS5 app as my in game music. Much better and honestly regret not doing this sooner.
