Things You Want To See In GT6 Besides Vehicles and Tracks

Someone actually did that?
Yes they did. I saw it this morning on my own run, which hatched my earlier time trial rant. This was not because the hackers but because everytime I hit a wall by accident before the finish line an entire lap (or more) gets invalidated.

Replay of it still up?

Gran Turismo E-motion Concept

The brief is to realize the next virtual realistic concept car for the gran turismo game, based on the pleasure of gaming and driving with new unique sensations, responding the best to the gamer’s expectations. (casual gamers ans hard gamers representing 80% of GT5 player's)

The goal of this concept was to have a dynamic vehicle for interesting races. This concept is able to change its mass distribution during the race following if you are in a turn, in a straight line or breaking phase. It is equiped of a battery which can move along the frame quickly. We obtained an agile vehicle like a kart but with the performance of a track car. It's a compromise between a kart and a F1.

...................................................................................................................................................................................

Studio:

The main interest of this concept is the battery. All the vehicle has been thought in terms of the evolution of the battery. We first study the battery displacements necessary to change the gravity center of the vehicle during one race. Then we have built all the system serving to move this battery, and finaly the body. With this new vehicle you will have new unique driving sensations in the games, but also in reality.

GT6 needs to have what GT5 was sorely lacking...

most prominently, the ability to DEMO the car from any menu in the game (outside of races). There can be a permanently designated button (*START button*) since most buttons have no function in menus.

For players to paint or mod a car, then have to exit the shop, open up the garage, then locate/select the current car, then open a menu and scroll down to DEMO while enduring multiple load screens is not only obscenely unnecessary, it's akin to torture. What's worse is having to do this all again several times backwards and forwards if you don't like the way the paint or mod turned out.

WHY hasn't PD fixed this in GT5 with a simple patch??

Hours and days wasted, multiplied by millions of players around the world. Truly a staggering degree of lost productivity worldwide, waiting on loading and navigating menus unecessarily.

It should have been assumed by the developers that, after a car is painted or modded, the majority of users will want to demo it immediately afterwards.

Something so obvious it should never have been missed. Multiple patches never addressed this either.
Utter fail, Polyphony Digital.

Fix it in GT5 and 6.

Well, I suppose this is one of the collaborations Kaz was mentioning on May 15th.

Regarding the thread context... I have simple requests:

1) Having the option of use a different color for race cars (e.g. GT 500). I loved to race among my friends using the same car (e.g. 'Nissan Calsonic') but it was boring to have exactly the same car appearance.
Even with the official stickers, it would be great to have the chance to change the 'base' color.

2) I'd really love to be able to set up time trials. Let's say I can :
-set track, conditions, car(s) and so on..
-set the closing time
-launch the event.
Every invited friend could play offline and online chart will do the rest...

3) Regarding point 2) I'd love to see a ghost car for each friend best lap time. I think it would make the challenge more stimulating... it would be something like what we've seen in the teasing trailer :

A small detail, but I wish when I was picking out a paint color prior to buying a car, I could get a decent three-quarters front view of the car, or a side view, or manipulate the position of the car with the analogue stick. It sucks trying to tell how a car will look in a certain color of paint when I'm looking at the rear end, which is all bumper and rear window, for 30 seconds.

I'd like to be able to choose brands of tyres for the cars I tune, so if I buy a brand new Audi RS6 and tune it, lower it a touch, change the wheels and slap on some Continental tyres along with some Conti decals would be cool.

Most brands are in the game anyway so it wouldnt be difficult to implement.

I would like to see:
- Improved menus & improved USABILITY (in the context of waiting for LONG loads for minor tasks)
- Improved load times
- Bulk/multiple used car purchase (without 3 screens of BS in between)
- Bulk/multiple receiving of car tickets (without 3 more slow loading screens of BS after each confirmation Yes/No)

Load times were unbelievably horrendous on GT5, so bad that I didn't fire it up many times I wanted to play, it takes so DAMN long.

What do you mean by changing the 'base color'? Like being able to keep the same livery on a calsonic as an example, but change the color from blue to something else?

One thing that I would like for GT6 although not realistic at all is a kind of radar where you can see were the other cars are relative to your position. Daytona USA was doing just that:

The reasoning behind is that if we are driving from cockpit/nose/roof view, there is no way to tell if an overtaking car is already at our side unless I press the look right/left button - which can be dangerous in a middle of a corner or in heavy traffic.

Another thing would be that if I press both "look right" and "look left" button, it should act as the "look behind" button.

Guess what happens if you set "course map scale" to a low number such as 1 or 2 and "track map display mode" to "fix to car" or "fix to track".
There you go...

EDIT:

Compare size of the arrow with the size of the map:
(it's from the SSR7 glitch time, don't wonder why it's off track)

What? Why? Why would that make more sense?

Sometimes my English could be better.
I assume they have reasons for not having strong livery customization (stickers, stripes and even more).
Our team like to run with the same GT 500 car (e.g. Calsonic) in order to run in the same conditions. We tried and having all the calsonic cars blue was kind of boring... having the same car (stickers and so on) but in red or other colors would help us a lot. I hope I did make myself clear this time.

^That's exactly what he means I think c:
Right. Anyway I tried to use other words to explain it.

12 in a online room with mics and no lag has to be a bare minimum, we should be able to have 16 in a room without lag now days, for me the online section of Gran turismo 6 will make or break it, everything else will just be a bonus if they sort this out.

Well first, it would spare one button on the wheel and second, some PC games already do that and I find it very convenient.
Of course, it should still be possible to set a third button for "look behind".

Otherwise thanks for sharing the information about this new track map feature. Looks like it could suit my needs indeed :)

It's not really new though...

Anyway, I use the digicross on my wheel to look left, right, backwards. So yeah, I'd definitely need a seperate button.

Well, if that's the case, then I'm on board with that suggestion; I could make the black castrol supra from GT1 with that feature.

Well, it sounds like a good idea. It would be a nice customize feature for GT Auto.

I want:

engine swaps (but only if they are realistic - no Veyron engine to Fiat 500)
more realistic wet/dirt/snow driving physics
realistic-looking rally stages
more tuning parts; real-life bodykits and much more wheels

About the livery editor... I think it would be enough to make it like in Race Driver: GRID. I mean: a set of patterns (which need the player to just pick colors), and decals on fixed spots only. I think it's easier to make in the game (and to use, too). We could pick the colors for patterns using our paint supplies (the same kind we have in GT5). What do you think?
