As hard as I think these things would be to do (yes, even for PD), I agree with almost everything in the initial post. Loving the idea of Formula Ford in GT

ADV1 Rims!

My God they're beautiful!

I think weather conditions would be a cool addition. I don't know if anybody remembers Project Gotham Racing 4 for Xbox 360, which you could play the Nurburgring in a snowstorm, but I thought that game had a lot of cool features and some cool tracks too.

Better AI, better racing. Gt5 seemed boring and there was no atmosphere when racing. Tight aggressive realistic AI. Totally revamped career mode with variety in races, with differing laps, race types. Have some races with 10-20-30-40 laps, some mid-level endurance races. Every race in GT5 had 5 laps it was terrible.

Weather and day night on ever track.

Get rid of nascar, a waste of resources.

Get rid of b-spec.

Damage - There has to be some mechanical failure or punishment for punting, smashing into other cars, walls. It's ridiculous in gt5 you can literally bumper car your way to victory without any repercussions.

A lot of people actually like and regularly race the NASCARS on GT5. Just saying it before you say it in the wrong place.

Improved visual and physical damage.
If you plow into a wall at over 100mph, the bumper and bonnet should crumple, glass should shatter, lights be non existent, wheels buckled. If you roll the car, the roof should crumple, glass shatter etc...

In GT5 you could do practically do anything, and receive nothing but some scratches, scuffs and dents. This damage should also carry over from race to race, will gradually get worse, requiring you to fix it. This is general would encourage better more skilled driving to avoid ruining your car, which would cost £££.

However there should be an option to turn this on or off, and have a scale severity when on. E.g, minor damage (few dents, broken glass) to major damage (wheels buckling, potentially falling off or tyres bursting, crumpled body panels etc...)

Washing the car should make a difference. And the animation when doing this should be a little more updated?

Visual Customisation.
Allow better use of painting cars. Maybe choose individual panels rather than entire car. A wider variety of wheels rather than the select 20ish for the entire game. Also wheel size making a difference to handling, grip and acceleration(not essential but would be nice), depth and diameter(visually). Custom and stock liveries and decals. Would make the game a whole lot more entertaining if you could 'really' change your car you how 'you' want rather than just a new paint job and wheels.

Sound
Just in general needs to be massively improved. A lot of the cars sound exactly the same, especially when sticking the exhausts on. On multiplayer I find that other players 'do' all sound the same, mainly when parked and revving. So a wider variety of engine and exhaust noises, that accustom to the performance changes made. Also sliding, braking, drifting and crashing sounds need to be improved with the same increase in variety.

I feel like if they are going to create a game this big in scale and variety the small things need to match up. Sounds, visuals, and physics etc...

Boost controller. Larger/Smaller pulleys for superchargers. More reasonable ECU "limiter" that doesn't kill the engine characteristics. Chimes and buzzers for AE86, RX-7 and RX-8. selectable tyre/rim sizes.

I really really miss the ARCADE car selection screen from GT4. It was a huge database of cars organised ,which you build slowly through the game and unlock more and more cars.

I spent hours there :(

Problem is nascar is not done well in GT, there are nascar games. trying to add too much to the game is just a waste of resources. Very few buy Gt for nascar................. PD tried to do too much and lost focus with GT5, and it was the worst GT game to date, get back to being a focused company who is focused on quality. Don't add something unless it can be done well.

After yesterdays announcement that gt6 will offer more customization than previous gt's. I would like the garage capacity increased, I currently have 1996 cars in my gt5 garage, I want to keep playing but I have to keep deleting cars that I originally wanted to continue playing. So I think that this would allow lots of players to have more cars that they would customize with the new anticipated additions in gt6.

It's been a while since I've been on the forum, but other than cars and tracks, I want to see:

  • A color "wheel" instead of the color "chips". Just let me pick any color for the body and rims.
  • A better arcade/ multiplayer mode where I can choose any car (stock or custom)
  • More visual aftermarket pieces.
  • Would love a livery editor, but won't bother me to much if it's not there.

I would very much appreciate it if we had the option to change our oil in the pits, whether it be online or offline.

Number one for me is again, sounds. Sounds make up a huge part of the driving experience. If they really want to blur the lines between virtual and reality as they have stated numerous times, engine sounds need to be drastically improved. More pronounced exhaust note (on some cars even the right exhaust note!), LESS engine whine/whirr, natural gearshift sounds and effects, more pronounced turbo/supercharger noises depending on tuning level, etc. In other words, the sounds need more GRUNT and POWER. Cannot stress this enough.

If it doesn't take much time, why not a special mode where you can actually see the interiors of your cars (a la Autovista). If PD can model some of the best interiors in the industry, then why shouldn't we able to view them? Do we really have to glitch just to see some sort of detail inside? 👎

If these features get fixed/implemented in the next GT, boy will I be ecstatic.

Personally I would like to see the return of:
- Changeable helmets and suits for our drivers. I liked feeling unique out on the track. On some days I spent hours combining various suits and helmets to see which ones went together nicely.

- Mission Mode. I loved these events in GT4, and was upset to not see them return in GT5. The Slipstream Battle with all R34s and the All-Chevy One-Lap Magic were my personal favorites.

- Manufacturer-restricted engine swaps. If I want to swap a B6ZE(RS) from an MX-5 Miata into a Mazda Cosmo 110S, let me.

- Used Wheel Lot from GT4. It was awesome to take the wheels from a Takata DOME NSX and slap them on a yellow NSX Type-R.

Cars with 4-barrel carburetors need to behave like cars with 4-barrel carburetors. There should not be a smooth acceleration beginning to end of pedal travel but a sudden surge about 3/4 throttle as the secondaries open. Amplify this for cars with a six-pack set-up or twin 4-barrels.

In arcade mode, the ability to swap out computer selected AI cars with ones from the home garage, this would allow for the AI to race tuned cars & possibably cars with custom liveries if that feature presents it self. Prefer the option of selecting the number of AI to race against.

Be able to put vinyl/decal on windows of cars, similar to what NFS: Pro Street had. But you could choose the option to be opaque to more transparent.

Dog-box like gearboxes, so we don't have to be so precise with the clutch, the gear gets in anyway, that would be nice and make drifting a lot easier.

Would people actually use it, though? As far as I know, Autovista was a tiny thing in Forza (unless it was being updated regularly, I don't follow Forza news at all) and not many people were 'excited' about it.

Maybe it's different in GT community...

well to keep it short and sweet, gt5 promised alot of things that it hasnt delivered on, sure theres 1100 cars, but 65% of them are japanese, and theres about 30 versions of specific models of cars, we dont care about each version, we want quality over quantity, better sound, better detail, no more standard cars, id be happy with 600 full detailed cars over the 1100, i only touch about 100 of them 1100 cars because most of them are CRAP. please PD. put some effort in to individual cars, visuals and sounds, and better damage physics would be nice, surely its not a lot to ask? i want gt6 not gt5.5. oh and a helmet cam, so as im approaching the apex of a corner my guys head turns slightly to visualise the exit line. thats how i would be doin it in real life

PD needs to make GT6 exactly Like the first post, (I read all of it) they would make sooo much money and would NEVER have to make a GT game ever again really, Just add DLC's once in a while but basicly that would be absolutely everything in a racing game and more. Car game: Would be completed, The world will never need another car game if they did this.
