There are NB Miatas is GT5.

I'm driving one right now.

As a matter of fact, there are exactly thirteen NB Miatas in GT5.

EDIT2: Sorry, I read your post as "There are no NB Miatas in GT5."
My bad.

I meant that PD didn't model any for GT5, i.e. not premium.

Oh, I see. Sorry about that.

There are only a few (I want to say around twenty) cars that are actually direct duplicates.
By that I mean cars like the (for example, not saying this is all of them) 350Z/Fairlady Z LMRC, or the 350Z Roadster (US/EU).
And if you notice, NONE of the premos are duplicates.

Well yeh the Prems are balanced, but its the standards which people complain about. Its that they should only make the Normal ones prem, leaving the Dups Out/Standard (without the trophy for 1000 cars), and Having more options to filter through them.

I would love it if the formula gt was premium with options. By this I mean let the user choose different parts from a selection like say, front wring_4 types or more each item, rear wing s, suspension kits, different engines, chassis etc. And each are priced differently and with different properties. Everyone could then build their own unique formula car which I think would be more interesting strategy wise during races. And this can be locked till you achieve a certain level.

Go 1 more, F1, F2, F3, Formula Ford/Renault classes too (even an indy car to keep the yanks happy, even though they get F1 in a few weeks on there new curcuit) Nose/Diffuser options would be cool

There's only 5 things I'd like to see improved.

Cars:
Ability to perform engine swaps (within reason)
Even if you have to reduce the car list to 600 or 700, just make them all PREMIUM. Actually, cut the word "premium" from the entire game and just model the damn cars properly.
Both race modification and a livery editor, because not all of us are skilled enough to make our own liveries ;)

Tracks:
All courses with a day/night cycle and weather options.

Misc:
Proper clutch modelling for both DS and wheels. The whole instantaneous shift-thing that GT5 has got doesn't satisfy me.

Only the clutch i say no to it on the DFGT because honestly there isn't a easy way to use it but sure why not. But on the DS3 bring it PD.

I would like the track to rubber up the longer the race goes on. the track's grooves get darker and darker. It is a small detail, but very worth while.

All my this. I'd really love to shove a TVR Speed 6 engine into my Lancia Stratos Rally Car. Or maybe a Bugatti V16 in a large truck. Or maybe the TVR Tuscan Speed 12 engine in the Mazda 787B. There should be a rating for a cars rigidity, a higher rigidity means the car can handle a stronger engine.
Not only that, there should be a paint shop that prices paints based on its' demand. Same thing with the horns.

Fixed that for you.

And I agree with the "rigidity" thing. It would make it more reasonable.

It would also be awesome if you could put a pressure vacuum (like the one on the Red Bull X1) and be able to disable it. Cars with turbo-chargers should have the ability to take in air from said vacuum and increase overall horsepower. The ride height should also effect the vacuums power.

Interesting idea...

Like putting the fan on the back, but reverse it so it is taking in air instead of pushing it out. Then instead of creating tunnels to the undertray, put them to the engine...
Like a HUGE turbo being powered by a small electric motor. That would be a very interesting addition. I would love to see it.

You want to turbo a vacuum?

 Just kidding. Nice idea.

Engine swaps would only ever be within manufacturers, not cross manufacturer.

SimonK

Agreed. Or you will see every noob with a Bugatti engine in a Fiat. Unrealistic that's what that would make it. Funny but highly unrealistic

Not entirely true - FM3, for instance, allowed certain swaps under the same umbrellas - Audis could run Bentley engines, basically. I'm not sure if it'd be something PD would pursue, and how much leeway they'd allow in regards to that type of cross-pollination, but it's certainly possible.

Of course, it'd also depend on how PD would even implement an engine swap ability; considering how backwards the idea of paint chips and horns can be, I'm a bit apprehensive about the idea, to say nothing of how rims don't affect weight in any way, as they'd need engine weight (and its affect on distribution) recorded for each possible swap to make it at least somewhat realistic.

Not sure if it was listed or mentioned ...

Racing chassis to add livery to. For example, just have a plain carbon fiber Lola chassis, or BMW M3 GTR chassis, or Audi R8 GT chassis, etc. modeled. No decals or graphics at all. This should be the same for RMs. It should be left up to the player to create his/her own livery for the car. Of course historic and current race cars (787B, Audi R18, GT40, etc.) will still be available, but the ability to actually create your own car base on these chassis would be epic.

Basically, I want that Corvette prototype chassis that's running in the Rolex Le Mans series.

If they make us collect engines like they we do paint chips, I swear I won't play the game.

I'm just kidding, I'll play it anyway.

Ability to switch the digital speedometers in cars from kilos and miles, ability to raise your rear wing (McLaren F1, Audi R8) in photo mode and be able to paint the stock wheels.

^ Now that's a good suggestion - so many times I would have liked to paint the stock wheels on a car and (I think it's already been mentioned) being able to put the stock wheels for one car on another - when you buy a car it's stock wheels get added to the selection of wheels.

Unless there was a way PD could make it manufacturer-less, sort of the way TXR3 pulled it off. I believe you had a choice between a rotary, inline 4, inline 6, V6, and V8. It worked pretty well and made for some interesting ideas, that's for sure.

Mostly I just want to be able to recreate an '89 Supra I saw that was stuffed with an LSX motor, hahaha :P

You are a legend mate, go through each individual post and categorized them into a huge list. Well done.
I have few more to add if I may. This feels like writing a Christmas present wish list.

Mileage/driving dependant mechanical damage to a car (like in real life where you need to change cam belt, oil, brake…etc) or else during the race you will see brake fading, loosing horse power…etc. Also fatal crash during race will cost you a lot more to re-build the car.

Ability to tune the ECU manually with software, can act as Vtech controller, Turbo timer once you purchase the parts.

Realistic Engine Swap option for all cars. For example S14 with RB25DET.

50 Individualized AI with set unique name, each one of them will have different driving style. Also they are very competitive with ability to overtake from either inside or outside line.

30 x Unrealistic Town to explore, meet people and showing off your ride. Each town is like an instance where you can drive all the way to the boarder and enter the next town.

Realistic Motion Blur effect to archive the sense of speed/g-force. For example: when a 400+ horse power Evo on 2nd gear and you slam the accelerator.

In the career mode, you have the ability to create a team with AI players (Real player is even better). Where the team members can all join in a single race compete with other 3-4 different teams.

When buying new cars, you literally enter a lobby of a particular manufacture to see cars and test drive before you buy them. On the other hand, when buying a second hand cars, you enter a car yard to choose the cars you would like to buy.

To access the GT life Garage, you literally enter a car park building to view your car and select the one you want to drive. Or a simple GUI menu outside the car park building to choose the car without entering the car park building.

GT Auto can be merged with Garage. Where you can do maintenance, engine swap, wash your car, change oil, break…etc

I want to see the used wheel dealership come back, lower visual ride heights, engine swaps, and the ability to remove wings and decals from cars. and no x1's and veyrons the crowd of lames who use thos cars to troll need to go with them

Someone said it earlier but Teams.... As you enter a career (and if Kaz is going to do a Progressive career like he said) then after karting, you join a team and create a team Vinyl that would be put on all cars used, leaving space for earnable sponsors to go on the side. Team would have 2 drivers enter a race if theres enough grid space 16+ cars (8+ teams) so theres grid a championship and a team championship (could do coop racing online so BOB doesn't screw this one up). Out of career though any vinyl can be applied with any sponsors.

Here are a few additions I would be delighted to see. I have kept them to what can be realistically included in GT6.

REBUILT AI MODEL
A completely rebuilt AI model is my most wanted feature as the rubbish we have had since GT1 must stop as it eliminates any sense of being involved in an actual race.

FULL RACE MEETINGS
I would love to see Practice and Qualifying sessions included in a race weekend. When the race is over we should have a podium celebration too.

LIVERY EDITOR
This is a fabulous feature to have. I was addicted to it in Ferrari Challenge and Supercar Challenge. We have such vast and unrealistic requests for PD when it comes to including every livery a car has ever had that a fully fledged Livery Editor would be a perfect solution for both parties.

WHEELS SWAPS AND PAINTING
I think wheel swaps within a manufacturer should be no problem for PD. For example I would like to put Audi R8 wheels on my TT-S.
Also, the ability to paint stock wheels is a must. I love my Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4 but in-game the wheels are surely too light in colour. They are almost white.

On cars I would like:
- ability to blow up engine (after 5 secs into the max rev)
- ability to sticker all cars, with presets and imports of stickers(pictures)) - LIVERY EDITOR
- ability to change all rims, with the ability to make the rims bigger (to a max) and the tires smaller - WHEELS EDITOR
- ability to buy at least 50% of all cars at once in game, even in different colors

for online I would like:
- better view of online lobbies

for game I would like:
- make good and bigger DLC expansion packs (not just 1 car or 1 track!!)
- make it harder for really good cars (such as GT1 cars) to get by any player (and those cars can NEVER be traded!) -> this keeps beginner players out of the game.

I want a GT Mode that's not watered down as much as GT5's. Seriously from GT4 to GT5 was a MASSIVE step back for GT Mode. It had no content or quality whatsoever.
