I think, for arcade mode, GT5 would have a custom race builder 💡 ...
Tracks: You can choose any racetrack to race on, or maybe multiple races for a championship.
Cars: You choose the car you'll race with, then choose the AI's cars, and the amount of cars in the race. (I could create my own challenges!)
Starting Position: Choose where everyone starts in the race.
I think this'll increase replay value. 👍
That is an excellent idea. I was gonna say something like that. One should also be able to set the grid for certain races. For instance, if the 24 Hours of Le Mans is in GT5 (as it should be) one should be able to select how many cars, of each class should be in the grid. For instance. If the maximum number of cars on the track at once is 20, I should be able to choose 5 LM P1 cars, 5 LM P2 cars, 5 LM GT1 cars and 5 LM GT2 cars. Which leads into my next point. It was great that the guys who made the game included "Le Circuit" but it wasn't so great of a selection of Le Mans style cars I could race on it with. I know, I know, there were a tonne, but my problem is there were only two or three "current" Le Mans cars. This would probably take some working out with the ACO and IMSA but if you could get two or three of every TYPE of car, even if they were fakes that Gran Turismo gave random sponsorship to, that'd be sweet. Could you imagine getting set to run your Le Mans 24 Hours in GT5 and you get this...
You go to your garage and select MANUFACTURERS- Porsche CAR TYPE- Racing CATEGORY- LM GT2. Your brand new Porsche GT3 RSR is sitting there ready to go.
You go give her an oil change and then select ENDURANCE RACES - Circuit de la Sarthe, Le Mans 24 Hours.
After a brief loading period you are at a screen that is decorated with images of Le Mans races past, in the top left is the 787B crossing the start/finnish line a winner, bottom right a picture of the Audi R10 winning Le Mans for the first time etc.
You hit a button reading "SELECT COMPETITION" from there you are presented with five options, LM P1, LM P2, LM GT1, LM GT2, the last being Full Grid which you select.
Another brief loading period and you are on a screen that says "Create Entry List." The first and most obvious is you select "HOME GARAGE" and put your Porsche as the first entry. Then you go to a screen that says "Select cars by category - Le Mans - Current Era - All Classes" in this order you select:
1. Category: LM GT2 Car: Porsche 911 GT3 RSR Number: 93 Team: Taisan Motorsports (a Japanese Porsche from this years Le Mans 24)
2. Category: LM P1 Car: Audi R10 Number: 7 Team: Audi Sport Team Joest
3. Category: LM P1 Car: Audi R10 Number: 8 Team: Audi Sport Team Joest
4. Category: LM P1 Car: Courage LC75 Judd Number: 12 Team: Swiss Spirit
5. Category: LM P1 Car: Pescarolo Sport Courage C60 Number: 16 Team: Pescarolo Sport
6. Category: LM P1 Car: Pescarolo Sport Courage C60 Number: 17 Team Pescarolo Sport
7. Category: LM P2 Car: Lola B05/40 AER Number: 21 Team: RML Racing
8. Category: LM P2 Car: Lola B05/40 AER Number: 25 Team: RML Racing
9. Category: LM P2 Car: Courage C65 AER Number: 27 Team: Miracle Motorsports
10. Category: LM P2 Car: Lola B05/40 AER Number: 33 Team: Intersport
11. Category: LM P2 Car: Lola EX 256 MG Number: 37 Team: Chamberlin Engineering
12. Category: LM GT1 Car: Aston Martin DBR9 Number: 007 Team: ProDrive
13. Category: LM GT1 Car: Aston Martin DBRS9 Number: 009 Team: ProDrive
14. Category: LM GT1 Car: Chevrolet Corvette C6.R Number: 63 Team: Pratt & Miller
15. Category: LM GT1 Car: Chevrolet Corvette C6.R Number: 64 Team: Pratt & Miller
16. Category: LM GT1 Car: Saleen S7 R Number: 66 Team: Asemco Motorsports
17. Category: LM GT2 Car: Porsche 911 GT3 RSR Number: 69 Team: Taisan Motorsports
18. Category: LM GT2 Car: Panoz Esperante GTLM Number: 81 Team: LNT
19. Category: LM GT2 Car: Ferrari F430 GT2 Number: 82 Team: Scuderia Ecosse
20. Category: LM GT2 Car: Spyker C8 GT2 Number: 85 Team: Spyker Squadron
From there you select "Go to Event", after a brief loading screen, showing the Circuit de la Sarthe (providing you with track facts and set-up recommendations) you're on a screen with a picture of a Le Mans garage in the back ground and are presented with your generic GT4 pre-race options. Except in GT5 you are also given these: "Field Overview" which would give you the opportunity to check out your competition, watch the AI's hot laps and even save them as ghosts for when you get enough money to buy that Audi R10 or win the Corvette C6.R. "Practice" Where-in you have an unlimited number of laps to be run over a certain period of time, you can make pit-stops for tires, fuel and minor adjustments as well as the option to get out of the car, session clock still running, and make major changes. The session would be a couple hours, maybe three in length to provide a real racing atmosphere. (It, like in GT4, would also be the timed session that the starting positions are worked out.) "B-Spec Mode" where you are provided with a T.V. style lead in showing the cars on the pre-grid and then a pace lap you can skip. Finally "A-Spec Mode" which, other than the fact you will be driving, you get the same experience as with "B-Spec Mode."
Also, in "Settings" you will be able to plan a pit-stop strategy, strategy when under caution laps, and driver stint schedule so that, in the event you don't want to, or cannot run the entire twenty-four yourself, your B-Spec doesn't loose time on pit-road waiting for the automatic pit stop schedule to kick in.
I think that is about it, if you've read this far I thank you and would appreciate your comments.

EDIT: Change was made to Practice, adding in you would use practice as the qualifier as well.
