i really wish they give us adjustable curves for those analog sticks (think gamma or color curves). i'm sick to death of having to move an ANALOG stick so small yet it STILL moves a massive amount on its digital reactor. I really wish developers would build this in.

Actually it'd be nicer if it was built into the operating system of the console and your settings were saved with your profile.... that'd be better!

Am i the only one that has noticed the lack in this department?

they could really improve they tyres because when you are out of tyre they don't run out of grip when there is nothing left. And flat spots make it real interesting for the breaking part.

It's a great idea, break of a wheel, aim for the other drivers :P but that would be part of the damage model.

Seems they need computers here at school have to end it, its to soon.
To be continued...

3.you should be able to see other race cars being pitted behind you instead of an empty pit lane

You do see them in GT4. The explanation, why they're not there, is simple: Only 6 cars on a track. At an Enduro, after a while, each car will lap differently, therefore, there are more chances of pitting with less than two cars in the lane at that moment. I once had a pit where 4 of the competitors, plus me, were in the lane...

In GT4 the car's dissapear when the stop in the pit's, then reappear a few seconds later with a full tank and fresh tyre's.

No, that's only in the intro movie and the VGT vid's, your team is the only one with a pit crew at the track, the other teams have a teleport pad that takes the car to thier pit crew then teleports it back.

omg, that really sucks.. GT5 will sure have pit crew at every car though.. otherwise it's probably good night for KY.. :nervous:

13.blown tires.unequally warming tire(like little pathces dont go warn so quick as the other ones)
14.fuel ended, race ended.
15.hit the wall of tires, the tires move
16.drifting (d1) competitions
17.simply PD should make every irl funktions to the cars.. and totaly 100% realistic damage..

Another idea:💡

I would like to have a button at the garage to open the bonnet of the car to look at its engine. That would be a good place for the engine specifications.

PD could also use the feature whenever you tune the engine of a car to see the installation of the parts you just bought; that would be awesome!
Whenever I see a car I really love in GT4 I think it would be great to see its engine.

What the heck does irl mean? :dunce:

IRL Probably means "In Real Life".

My thought was... Why not make the actually restrictions on series? I mean, the Le Mans specifications (differently for Group C, LMP and GT1), JGTC (I don't mean "Only JGTC cars eligible" - I mean, every car that has matching specs, can enter), DTM, F1GP (Or FGT), so the field would be evened-out?

Of course!:sly:

But I thought it should be more like a background view with the engine data in front of it.
yeah, great idea!

for example: if you tune a skyline with a Nismo turbo you should really see that it is a Nismo part..

I agree, PS controllers are generally very poor affairs. I've just been to my local electrical superstore where they had PGR3 on a demo machine. I'm no Xbox fan but i was so impressed by the quality feel of the 360 controller. All the buttons had a solid feel and gave a good amount of 'feel' through the spring mech. I feel that Sony puts little development into their controllers which is a massive over sight since it's the one physical connection the gamer has with the console. Give us a quality product that can last the life of the console, and give us some more extensive callibration controls.

Despite its reliability problems, I really like the DS2. I only wish the piece that surrounds the joystick had divots in the 8 cardinal directions, like the Gamecube controller.

As for the 360 controller, it's pretty good overall, but the D-pad is one of the worst D-pads I've ever used. Not only does it have an awkward feel to it, it also would much rather input diagonals than up/down/left/right. :grumpy:

well I took a wrong turn somewhere so it took a while to get back here.

I love the X-box controller it feels better then the ps2 one witch is very small compared to the X-box controller.
Never had a 360 controller in my hand but I know the problem with the D-pad because my second controller is like that really annoying. Correction VERY

I'd like to see customizable sound tracks. I upload my Beastie Boys albums onto a USB stick and rock out while driving, sometimes I wonder if that'd make my lap times better.
I'd also like a car that sounds good, every car sounds like the same old blender, except the Mazda 787B. It screams like a banshee.

Wheel sizes. I'm sick of trying to drive my 200sx with 205's

What good would that be in a race? The bigger the rim, the more it weighs. Rims, tyres and brakes are unsprung weight, meaning the developers/tuners of the car can change very little about it's behaviour (since it has no springs) - the more unsprung weight, the less you can affect the handling of the car. Plus, more weight from the rims also makes worse accelleration, braking, and also increases the gyroscopic effects of the wheel - gyro-forces on bikes is good. On cars, bad. It makes it harder to turn the wheel.

I did notice that when racing with a good song, I get better times. I usually get myself a CD from the shelf and play it alongside GT4. Last time I ran the SuperSpeedway endurance, I had "The Who - Live At Leeds" on...

Bigger rims increase your top speed, they increase the distance covered with every revolution. Wheels that are too big to the point where they take away needed suspension travel is bad ofcourse. Bigger rims are often a good thing for race cars, you don't see GT cars designed to run on 14 inchers do you, theres a reason for that, because it would greatly reduce the speed to wheel revolution rate. This is why on a road car if you fit bigger wheels to your car you are supposed to go and have the speedo re-calibrated because otherwise it will be saying your going 100kph, but you could be going 110.

As for bigger wheels affecting acceleration, yes but by how small a margin. Very small, very very small infact. Also they do not affect braking unless you lock them up. That's like saying bigger disks will cause my car to stop in less distance than it can now, well no actually I could fit disks alsmost the size of the wheels and that wouldn't be case. What stops a car is the tyre's, bigger wheels don't lower your tyres grip. Theres been a thread in the automotive forums recently where Scaff has gone into detail on this matter.

Depends on the type of rims. On real racing-car rims, it does sometimes ever lower the weight. But on most aftermarket rims, the weight is increased.
And the part about more distance per revolution - that's determined by the total diameter of the tyre+rim, so you can have a 16-inch'er with 24inch total diameter, and a '19er with a total of '20.

i really liked how GT4 had alot of custom things you could do to your car.

i think the new GT should have more custom options such as more turbo's more superchargers, different brands of superchargers maybe and different types of superchargers, such as centrifugal superchargers and root blower, or twin screw superchargers.

i wish there was also an option to take off the spoiler on some cars... because i like spoilers on some cars and i really like no spoilers on some cars... so it sorta pains me that i can't take some of the spoilers off of some RICER cars they have on there.

caravans!!! if anyone has ever seen caravan banger racing for real. you know it will be awesome!! also body kits and a paint shop would be cool. (especially for color codeing the caravans!) :sly:

(TRANSLATION: for readers from the USA replace the word "caravan" with "trailer" to ease reading.)

may have been said before but..

yellow and red flags should appear if there is a crash at the track..

pace car should be added as well..

everybody says bodykits and spoilers for exterior mods, what about on muscle cars and trucks? they should have side pipes, exposed blowers, hood scoops/cowl induction hoods, different exhaust tips, etc. if they also had the option to change tire sizes and rim sizes (which they should) then you could make cars look like drag cars, which would be sweet.

Yeah, maybe if we ever get the option to actually drag race on the vegas strip...💡

I've seen it and I love it, and offcourse they have to be destroyed :sly:

👍 a must have 👍

I'd like to see more hats.

Actually it would be good if in the enduro races we could have a random reliability issue thrown into the pot. It could have a knock-on effect of laying oil on to certain areas of the track which are initially slippy until you have a pace car situation and the 'marshals' can cover it with cement dust to soak it up. I wouldn't want the reliability to stop you from finishing, but i would like it to let you cruise around back to the pits to fix any issues, longer for the more serious ones. Add reliability to dynamic weather, bigger grids, damage, a flag system and you've got yourself a pretty realistic racing sim.
