Shhh... Do not speak the American name too loud, or Toronado might hear it...
DE
Hmm?Rotary JunkieOr I will.
I don't see any new records yet... Anyone can do 300mph. Not everyone can get close to absolute maximum speeds...Rotary JunkieAnd you doubted me, DE.
I know, but, uh, what about it?Rotary JunkieThe "Or I will" was referring to the S7.
Not while working on the S7. That was my downfall last time (I was getting transmission setting confused), not this time.Planning to change that?
Five quid says mine gets there first.Rotary JunkieAnd the Flying Purple People Eater would be nice to get to 300 with.
Yeah, that's been tried before - I can't remember the speed it's reached here, but it's certainly not a 300mph car. Unfortunately, it lacks power or torque (possibly both), and is a bit of a no-hoper.jinxtigrI tried to get 300 out of the old Auto-Union on the basis that it was incredibly streamlined, but it would barely reach 240 even with the stage 4 turbo, and more significantly, it tended to spontaneously whirl violently around and fling itself high into the air
I wouldn't say a boost of 400bhp would get you from 240mph to 300mph in real life, but as you rightly say, GT4 is rather different. And, if I recall that car correctly, GT4 doesn't let you fit nitrous to the Streamliner.MetarThe real-life Auto Union Streamline blitzed the German Autobahn at over 240MPH back in 1938, so with an extra 400HP and nitrous, it shouldn't have a problem reaching 300MPH - however it doesn't. Meanwhile, a blocky car like the Skyline passes 300MPH without a problem.
Are you baiting me?Anyway, the Veyron is 4WD, so GT4 would make it capable of about 400mph if we could have some more turbos and nitrous in that thing
1400bhp 4WD, MS, how does that sound?![]()
Drag is proportional to the velocity squared (amongst other things), so a linear increase in power should not bring a linear increase in speed. But if 200bhp would theoretically add 24mph to get to 276mph, would another 200bhp add another 24mph on top of that? I'm not so sure...
Yes.MSAre you baiting me?![]()
1,888kg, yes - GT4's weight reduction system would drop that to about 1400kg, I think?MSI thought the Veyron was quite heavy, as it's essentially a luxury car on the inside? That extra weight wouldn't help the acceleration much, and thats the limiting factor for some cars on top speed runs due to the shortish distance given to reach top speed. There's then the question of whether or not the car would suffer the power shakes...
Yes, and now I've been reminded exactly how it feels...MSIf I could have that power in the Tommy Kaira ZZII, then 400mph wouldn't be a problem: the main thing holding me back at the moment isn't an extra 500bhp, it's an extra 500 metres.
I was wondering when you'd go public with your progressMSAnyway, lets take the improvements one step at a time. 380mph isn't so far away, not with my current setup. 👍
Quite.MSDrag is proportional to the velocity squared (amongst other things), so a linear increase in power should not bring a linear increase in speed.![]()
Ssshhh...I was wondering when you'd go public with your progress![]()
Good stuff. Good to have you tuning again. 👍...300.17mph in the Nissan Skyline GT-R34 Midnight Purple II. Good to be back...![]()
We shall have no illicit activities in here, thank you...MetarI could give you 1400HP in a TommyKaira, but DE won't be too pleased![]()
