Ah, the board has been very active as of late. 👍

Vander, you've been dealing with three cars that I have a special interest in.

Your Toyota runs look pretty good, but I wouldn't want to be in DE's shoes, the low video quality and high camber make it difficult to determine - but I wish you the best of luck (well, for the next 1.5MPH or so )

The Chaparrals, as is no doubt obvious, have special meaning for me and although the 2D is a member of the club, I am afraid that the 2J has no chance whatsoever (and, boy, have I tried :banghead:). Granted, that no has has brought it over 300 doesn't mean it's impossible, but most all the top pilots here have tried and failed. Still, if it's possible, you may very well be the one that does it.

The 2J is most probably my favorite car in the entire game, so I will keep trying though it may never happen, I keep myself sane by pushing other cars between 2J failures, as for the camber if you look at my video's from a while back compared to the newest you will notice that the camber's are getting more normal.

I'm glad I'm not in DE's shoes as well but I do have the original files on my ps3if he ends up needing them. I'm slowly but surely learning how to try to make his job easier.

And as I'm sure you are very well aware how long that 1.5mph actually is, no need for you to fear. . .yet :sly:

To hurry up and get to the point of my post though, I present this.
(Thank god DE hasn't verified my other video's yet or he'd probably kill me)

Vander, I can understand if you don't answer this but your runs have got me a bit curious; is there a particular reason why you use just four gears or is it an experiment that has just given good results..?

My Lord, having too much homework actually proved useful for once! Wow...

Anyways... Firstly, sorry for my lack of activity this morning, due to the aforementioned deluge of work creeping up on me, which I'm still dealing with - I shall attack one final piece of coursework before calling it a night, and taking a look at your new video 👍

As ever, opinions from others always help. :)

EDIT - But, that looks... Pretty good to me! That looks legitimate to me. In fact, I think it's safe to put it on the Leaderboard without a second opinion, the second linked video provides pretty comprehensive evidence. And, yeah, trying to fit a camera down the right hand side of the car doesn't really work ;)

Well done! Now you 'just' need to get 1.92mph on top of that... :dopey: That's why 2078TM encourages 1.5mph more, because he doesn't quite need to worry at that stage :D

Leaderboard Updated

Thanks DE, and homework created less work, that's kind of odd eh.

1.92mph to go, that will take some thread through the needle tuning and a LOT of luck. I've got a busy weekend ahead of me and I will most likely not be posting anymore Tso20 speeds if/until I get that extra 1.92 as 369.99 is a nice number to have on the board.

I still cant figure out how to get the Tommykahara ZZ-II to go over 300mph.
im gonna be messing with it all day.
Although I do like the fact that the fastest car on the leaderboard is only $500,000.

I can tell you that by the end of the week I will be in the 370's (hopefully).
It was sorta odd to see a car at the top of the 300mph leaderboard that I didnt even know could go over 300mph.It like came out of nowhere.
Im actualloy going to mess with my tuning now.

Calm down dear!
people need to calm down a bit in this thread lately. Too many posts have been misinterpreted and/or taken out of context, and it seems to me that people are being unnecessarily eager to snipe at each other. :nervous:

Lets all just relax a little and learn to get along; don't keep biting each others heads off. 👍

370 is so last year. :dunce:

More seriously though, if you haven't broken 300mph in the car yet then don't set your expectations so high. Try and build the speed up in 5 or 10mph barriers. Breaking 370mph in any car requires a near perfect setup, not to mention the added complexity of engaging the power shakes if attempting it with a 4WD car. When you have fantastic 4WD tuners like Pyrelli still trying to beat 370, don't think you will be able to break that barrier so easily.

My same advice goes to Bammer: Although the Skyline Pace Car is capable of 300mph, it's one of the more difficult cars to achieve it with. It takes great knowledge of high speed tuning for 4WD to get there. I'd suggest setting your goals a little lower and trying to work your way up. :)

Amen to that

haha, last year. . . :( only for you, I-Runner, and 2078TM, for the rest of us it's still the future. wait so your saying 370 is a barrier. . .isn't it outlined in the rules that you can't contact barriers invisible or not. . . :sly:

Though closer for some than others; it must hurt being that close .

As for Bammer, MS beat me to it but I was going to say exactly the same thing. There's a good reason why it's only on the board once and that's simply because of the know how and experience needed to get that car up to speed. You'll definately be much more successful with something else [GT-R V-spec II Nur (R34)].

yea stupid stupid hundredth. Having serious issues with the game freezing right now, I might have to go buy a new disc. It's very GRRRR!

I do not like having to lean towards the Report button in this thread, not after all this time... Please, people, keep it calm and reasonable all the time, or I might have to press it - there's no need for anything else.

Sound advice and explanation from MS and Pyrelli. 👍

If you're playing it on a ps3, then don't bother...I've already bought 2 copies & it still freezes! :mad::mad::mad:

Although, it might be in need of a lens cleaning... 💡

Well.Im almost there. You guys are right, It is a lot harder to get a 4wd car over 300.
Im bareley getting into the 290's. And yes I know, "It doesn't count unless its 300".

I'm at 292 in my XJ220 road car. I have a sneaking suspicion that it can hit 300. (Everybody is CONSISTENTLY 5-10 mph ahead of me, even in the slow cars)

Good luck with that roadcar. I've probably killed 3 of those trying for 300. I don't think it's possible. The racecar is stubborn enough...the roadcar, with less power and more weight, make for a good dose of frustrated insanity. No records by my book.

I think the highest any of us have gotten here was either Masterstorm, 2078TM, or myself...all at around 295-7ish.
