The GT-One is very popular in the leaderboard's top spots. Keep trying, I know someone who got ~370 with 4 gears! I also tried my Nissan again, and reached 351.xx (still trying), so expect another vid DE ;). And maybe i'll try another non-nitrous run...

Well, I know someone who cracked 200mph going backwards, but there you go ;)

Looking forward to some record attempts from you, Macca, I reckon you might get close enough to give Viper some hassle :P

But, as Macca says, the TSO20 and 88C-V are both very popular cars - in fact, those are the two most heavily used cars in the Club. So, a lot of both skill and luck is going to be needed to get a record in one of those!

I might try to mess with the R92CP today she carries a little more horsepower w/oil change than my old R89C I just got it yesterday and love it.

update@787B reached speed 276.16
She goes fast but I'm getting to the point where I almost nee nitrous to shift, so I'll have to start losing downforce and tuning the individual gears more rather than just the auto and final drive. I'll keep ya' updated.

Awesome, don't forget to set the suspension as low as possible. The 787B can do over 330mph with the right setup :). Anyways, I can't upload my Nissan video now, but I still have a speed. I thought to myself yesterday: 'Is there a single car I can use, where I don't throw my controller?.....💡.....So, I worked on my car, and eventually came up with this. It's virtually the same setup as before, but I took a different line, and hit the NoS later... a lot later in fact. It was lucky, too, because i'm up to day 1885 now, and I bought another one of those cars on day 1880! Woooooo!

Edit: New Nissan at 351.65mph for now. :)

im hitting around the 290 mark nothing worth giving mention too, but thats not in the best car, ive been observing some settings, would the mercedes benz GTR race car be a good bet?

The CLK-GTR is a very capable car, getting up to 334.83mph in the fastest of its 20 registered 300mph runs.

Now, I'm going on holiday until the 16th of July - so, if you could hold your fire on posting too much stuff that needs my attention until then, I'd be very grateful. Cheers.

Hi guys, ive been a big fan of gt since gt1 came out many moons ago but i have never (and still cant) get a car to even go 300 mph let alone anything like what youve recorded what am i doing wrong??

I got 303.18 in my pagani zonda C12s 7.3 how does that stack up to the competition?
Firstly, congratulations on breaking 300MPH; the Pagani Zonda isn't the easiest car to achieve 300 in, so you've done well. The current fastest speed for the C12S 7.3 is 306.25MPH by *revenga*. That put's you just a few MPH shy of the record for the car. If you want to be placed up on the leaderboard, you'll need a screengrab or digital photo/scan of the session record screen.

You say you're having problems breaking 300MPH again, but with the speed you've achieved I'm not too sure why. The closer you get to a record, the more consistent your speeds tend to get. That said, if you have any questions or want me to make suggestions regarding your setup, please feel free to send me a PM; I'll be happy to give some advice. That applies to anyone trying to break 300MPH. :)

Finally, and on a slightly more grey note, please try not to post 2 or more messages in a row with no replies in between. It's frowned upon by the moderators, and in a thread as long as this one we don't exactly need the extra posts. If you do have any more to add, use the edit button and add the content to you old post. Sorry to have to sound like a law enforcer, but it's best you learn now rather than having an angry moderator jump at you in a weeks time.

Anyway, good luck with the speeds. 👍

Hehe. Well, we all know DE would say that, so that's fair enough :). I've been at a few cars lately, including a broken record, the Takata NSX (failed), and my non-nitrous Audi. But, alas, I have to wait for DE...

I've reached 335.46 mph with the Toyota GT-One, and i'm still tweakin the gear rations a bit, cuz it hit the rev limiter at 335.

Update: I have now reached a maximum speed of 338.14 miles per hour.

Don't have the gears too long! The Chapparal is a capable, but very hard car to tune. And why are you using the Chapparal as a starting car (even though I did)? Use a car that's a bit easier, like the two Toyota's ;). They can reach ~372 and ~366mph respectively, and are very easy to get over 300. Or you could PM any of us around if you are stuck with a certain car :)

Correct. You need a video if your speed is above 350mph, without nitrous, or kind of suspicious (like a 335mph Chapparal :D). And you need to verify that you've read and followed all the rules in the first post. Aside from that, good luck 👍.

Umm...errr....long story. Of course, I used the Chapparal, and the race was completely clean. But I had to do the Sunday Cup on the High-speed Ring, because it isn't too hard, compared to Autumn Ring and Clubman Route 5. When I finally get the video up, i'll put the link in my sig. I just can't get YouTube working for me :(. Bit off-topic, but DE's still having a holiday...:D

SO in this game what counts as a wheelie? I've been able to do it by using the softest springs and the highest rear wing possible, and it does pretty much the same thing as in gt3. but i know that won't be allowed.

During my 338.14 run i noticed that the front of my car seemed to be bouncing a little, but not doing the very pronounced wheelie. it seemed as if it was ossilating (Oscilating, however the heck you spell it) and the front of the gt-one moved by like half an inch up and down continously. Does this count as a wheelie? I've got the replay saved and i can record it and upload it here so you can see.

The wheelie is when the front of the car is picked up by the wind.It is kind of a way to cheat because the car accel. faster.
Think of it as a cheat code.

'Bouncing' doesn't classify as a wheelie. But if the car stops bouncing, and slides up just a little too long...:nervous: But most race cars bounce slightly anyway, so i'd say you're ok, but check the replay (even use photomode) if you are unsure ;).

Edit: Sorry, couldn't resist putting this speed up. I believe that breaks the record by a mere 0.08mph. What a massive margin . That's only one of four speeds i worked on, too, but i'll post the others at a more convenient time.

Hello all,

Just discovered this club after shelving GT4 for a few years (now revisiting the game). I went the easy route for my first entry, but I have run 328 with the Minolta, and over 300 with the 787B and the R8. I have seen some of the videos an it seems my biggest trouble is gaining speed thru the corner, I enter the corner right with these guys, but my setup seems to stall out leaving me down about 20 MPH at the exit. I want to come up with the setup on my own, but maybe just some opinions as to whether you think I should work on gearing or suspension.

Thanks for this great new inspiration.

If I understand you properly, you're losing speed only in the corner? I'm guessing your 6th gear (or 5th with the Mazda) is too long, and you're shifting into it during the corner. What i'd do is change it so you won't have to shift into last gear until a bit after you hit the nitrous. Try making the second last gear high enough so you are almost redlining as you exit, but make the last gear rather short. And to answer your last bit, don't work on two or three aspects of the car at once. Try the gearing first, and if you can't go any further, play with the suspension. Then go back if you want to. Hopefully you can join the club with those cars!
