A quick question for other t300 owner's, I noticed after about a hour and half of racing on GT6 with torque and FFB set at 7 each that my wheel suddenly felt limp when turning. It was really prominent at the point you would expect the wheel to fight back at the apex and instead made it feel like the car was under-steering quite badly were as a few laps before it turned in as expected.
I did notice the fans going so I am assuming it was pretty warm inside the steering box, so is there some kind of self protection built into the steering hardware?
The wheel does calibrate on start up and again when loading up the game, I checked this to see this still worked, I turned down the torque and the FFB by a couple of notches but I have to say I do prefer the stronger settings. Anyone else had this sort of issue? Not on PC just PS3/4.

When your wheel gets light like that , you've exceeded the traction limit and are understeering.
In GT6 I run 3 and 2 settings

Hi mate ,
The T300 wheel base fits perfectly on the base of the playseat , Pretty sure it shares the same bolt pattern as the G25/7 so was a very easy swap over no drilling required. As mentioned previously the standard T300 2 pedal set also fits but in a less than perfect position. Holes need drilling on the older playseat to mount the T3PA pedals but doesn't take long to measure and drill :D
Excellent :)

That makes it a strong candidate for my next wheel, with the T3PA The next thing is trying to find a source for extended shifter paddles to match larger rims - I can't find any so far.

Quick question for my fellow T300RS owners, what is the proper way to upgrade the firmware for the wheel? Do I just need to plug it in my PC and it will search for the latest firmware, or do I need to pre-download it and do it manually?

Start the firmware application which is installed when you install the driver package. Find it via the start menu ;)

Apologies for my ignorance, but where does one get the driver package? Do I need to download it from the Thrustmaster website?

What does everyone set their FFB to in GT6? I have max torque set to 4, and sensitivity to 4 but I can set sensitivity all the way up to 10. The torque though is super strong even at 4 so I'm curious what other people are using.

I'm really trying to avoid clipping so I may set the torque to 3. 2 seems to weak in my opinion.

Also, any recommendations for Assetto Corsa? I'm probably going to have to painstakingly tweak it myself like I had to with the DFGT. Took me so long to hit the sweet spot with that game and the DFGT because their default settings were awful

So interestingly enough I received an email from Thrustmaster in less than 24hr's about the lack of FFB and apparently its the wheel protecting itself from damage.
The internals turn the FFB down until it cools down, when the fans are running and cooling it will slowly increase the FFB.
I also did the firmware update last night which I noticed that the cooling fans came on alot earlier. Added to this I did turn down the torque and FFB settings, I prefer alot of FFB when racing as I can feel more of what the car is doing but thats just me.

Well just a word of advice, but when you turn the FFB up all the way, you're actually feeling less. What you do feel is more pronounced but there's actually something called clipping that happens when you crank things up too high.

It's like in audio equipment. I'm sure you know what distortion is right? Well that's clipping in audio but the same thing happens to wheels. It basically cuts off the top off of the waves that are being clipped so instead of feeling the full range of FFB effects, you're actually only getting a fraction. Also, the FFB effects that are meant to be much weaker end up feeling just as strong as the strong effects because you're causing things to truncate.

Oh goooodd no no no no no no!!!

Connect the pedals BEFORE, my mistake here, sorry.

Everything else is correct. :banghead:

It's OK, everything worked out fine...

My T3PA's are still on back order, but I got lucky last month and was able to have TH8A delivered.
Just now making the transition from controller to wheel right now anyway, and it's going to be a long process for me.

Cheer's Tom wasnt aware of that on the wheel, I do like the stronger side of the FFB however I have turned it down now so trying to get used to that lighter feel, Im sure it will change from game to game as Im on GT6 now but will be running with Project cars once released so it will be interesting to see if there is much of a feel in the FFB.

Yea it's a shame that all sims don't offer a guage for FFB clipping. Assetto Corsa and iracing have 1 and it really comes in handy. I used to be clipping all the time and as soon as I set it up to get no clipping, it was like night and day. I had some much more feel for the road.

I think turning GT6 to 10 may result in clipping. Can't know for sure but I think it might but it's always good to mess around because sometimes setting FFB lower give you more feel.

One other tip, I've noticed that it's always better to have the FFB sensitivity setting in GT6 somewhat close to the Torque setting. I like my torque to set at 3 in GT6 but when I tried putting the sensitivity to 10, the wheel was heavier how I like it but it also obscured some of the FFB effects since the torque setting was so much lower. When I turned the sensitivity down it felt much much better. The lighter FFB effects of the road are more pronounced now with the sensitivity down.

Ill give that a try Tom, had my torque and FFB at 7 each so it was working pretty hard I feel. So I am currently at 4 for each and it was ok not just what I had been used to, the only way I could put it was wrestling a giant anaconda while trying to change gear's, accelerate and brake lol.
On a side note I was rather impressed by the quick responses not only from the third party I bought the wheel from (Pagnian) but also from Thrustmaster all in less than 24hr's.

Your talking about torque and FFB in GT6 isnt that the same thing ?

My TH8A was shipped today! So excited...

Unfortunatally the carnaval started today and everything here in Brazil will literally stop for almost a week... if i'm lucky, on the next friday the shiffter will be here!! *-*:gtpflag:

my wheel is pretty weird after not use wheel for a week.
when turn the wheel i feel bit shutter like turn isn't smooth...feel like dirt move bit shake something like that.
When wheel spin it self, spin right is faster and spin left is slow.

what's wrong with it?

In my wheel, the spin to the right is always faster than to left in the calibration, when the wheel hit it's limits the sound that it makes to the right is always louder than to the left.

That's strange cos first time I ever saw my wheel is calibration repeat for right spin didn't reach the full spin....spin itself more than 4 times until full.

Wheel start getting weird right now.....been replacement 3rd times.....sigh.

3rd time?? Really??!!

Wow man, think about lucky. Maybe you should look at your eletric plugs at your house. It's not normal...

Yes for click noise and now this funny feel.
Plus spin itself more than 10 times isn't normal cos spin itself last week just once....I don't understand and Noone touch this at all.
I find it frustrating.
I guess I have to rid of it soon.

Really miss Logitech G27 and disappointed they won't support PS4

Thrustmaster should refund the cost of your purchase and give you a new set for free after three failed T300RS and for all your hassles.

3 times!!??!!:crazy: The longevity of these wheels are really putting me off at the moment.:banghead:

Im sure there are far more people with no issues and just as many people with similar issues with other wheels. I hope so anyway as I recently bought a T300 so I hope its not widespread! :s lol

It's the old saying: Get a good product tell 5 mates about it, get a bad product tell 50!

Yes, I find it really disappointed, I don't know why they like that way.
2 wheels is click noise, current wheel is rub feel when turn not smooth hard to explain....like if you rub the balloon...that what you feel same as wheel when you move :/

I really love this wheel oh well.
