I made a 1:47:029 with the Takate Dome 03, playing with a DS3 and a personal setup.
As I watched the leader's replay, it seems to me that he is playing with a very raised and loosen suspension, lots of downforce and tranny trick, but his shifts are precise, as he uses a lot of engine braking to keep the traction.

I know this kind of setup is good for race hard tyres, but it's really hard to hold it with a DS3.
What driving wheels do you guys use/recommend? I'm looking forward to buy one to improve my lap times.

Congratulations to doodlemonoply, who climbed again to top 10!

Cheers, look forward to that.

The top car indeed has high ride height, and stiff suspension, max downforce is a given and transmission ... I'll give a tip to do the trick like the top car :

Takata Dome '03 :

Reset to default
Increase Final by a bit, say 4.190
Move top speed to left most ( minimum )
Move Final to close around 300kmh top speed on the graph, use 3.040 for example
Adjust 1st to 5th gear to left most on the slider and 6th at 1.412.
The graph should show 300kmh top speed.

I have shared Mobil 1 NSX - given by a generous donator ( WhiteLion2Pride if not mistaken ) with dirty oil, thanks  - it has special top tune on it and engine stage 3 - uses same transmission ratio as mentioned above. 535HP - 1167kg - 35/60 DF, 600PP

And the Takata Dome '03 with high mile that has a special top tune on it and dirty oil. 537HP - 1211kg - 35/60DF,600PP

Hopefully these 2 cars would help :D

3 cars are on share for 600PP event :D Send FR to GTPCARSHARE.

I'm having weird glitch when accepting FR twice today, it says I have reached my friend limit and it deleted the FR, please those who have sent FR and do not get added, resent the FR.

Just got a 1:43.303. Somehow I managed to lose .25 in the first sector from my personal best. :banghead: That should've been a .1

Edit: Now down to a 1:43.274 for 3rd place. Sector 1 was half a tenth better, but I can definatley see a 1:42.8 is possible.

I used suba1960's Takata Dome NSX and eclipsee's tune, the second tune in the post linked: Link
Thanks to you both 👍.

Only tweak I did is change downforce levels to 35/52, and brake balance to 7/9. Adjusting power limiter should give 534 BHP. I have done only a few laps on it when the time trial first started, so a bit hard to tell but if I was to guess, I think combination might be possible to do a time in the high 1:42's.

Thanks for the link mate 👍 Managed to break into the 144's with the No 1 tune & Stotty's gearbox.

Well, finally had some time to put into this TT. After about an hour, got my time down to 1'46.040. Still a pretty scruffy lap so lots of time left to pick up. Congrats to those who have made improvements so far, keep up the great work. 👍

Hey Ridox2JZGTE If it ok with you I can borrow glitch the cars and put it on share because I have some room.

Sure, the more the merrier.

Feel free to try my newly shared Takata and Mobil 1 on GTPCARSHARE :) I look forward to hear what you think of them.

I'm done for the night, but I actually just borrow-glitched them both a few minutes ago so I could try them out tomorrow. I'll give you feedback on them tomorrow after I'm done. Thanks for putting them on share Rido, much appreciated my friend.

Hey Ridox2JZGTE Your ride height adjustment and the spring rate adjustment is spot on using the Takata '03. And now I can go around some corners like a sprintcar. But I still need a bit more practise with my throttle control to get it right. Thanks

thanks to the stewyripper and the borrowed car, managed to get in 1.45.922 s:cheers: nice setup !

and thanks to all the members for all the tips :gtpflag:

Did that myself last night too, but got down to a 1:46.147 for now and I know there is a clean 1:45 on the way.

Looks like a battle may start between us

You are all welcome, no improvement for me today but it will come soon.
Consistently lapping now in the 1.46.5s now so i know it's not far away, just got to get that one lap hooked up properly.
Later all and good luck.
Stewy:cheers:

I'm too impatient on this damn track. Can't run it for more than 30 min at a time. Anyway, got a 1.46.331 with Stotty's tune on my car. :indiff: The 1.45's beckon...

I used the manual transmission last night, it wasn't pretty but I improved a few hundreths to a 01:44.341.
I then switched back to the automatic and did a 01:44.219, it's going to be a hard habit to break, lol.
Once I get more consistant with shifting I'll have to change some of the setup numbers.
Switching from one transmission to the other changed how the car feels to me.

My DS3 habit was also very difficult to break, but look where I'm at now. :) You'll break it eventually! :D

I have beaten your day 1 ghost doodle, and can match your current rabbit in sector 1.

Anyways, I just hope you catch Immoral Pilot. I'd even donate half a second off my own time if I could, if thats what it took!

Nice job. Somehow I've lost a bit of the sector 1 magic. My best there is a mid .5 and I know high .4s are possible there. :)

I can really only match you consistently in sector 1 by dropping aero and increasing power. Pulls away from you on the straight, but you catch up through the corners. Low downforce screws me for the rest of the lap though.
Still playing with settings to find the right balance

IMO, max downforce is the way to go :) At least one of the top 3 uses max downforce ;) A good transmission ratio help immensely, check my post above about transmission trick/ratio for Takata Dome.

My best time is with 32/56 downforce. Seems to rotate a bit better for me.

My main problem is 5 Takata domes. All with different oil/engine/chassis combo. Every time I set a faster ghost, I get the urge to change cars just in case it's a faster combo.

Lost track of which one I set the ghost with

I think the way to go is to take the car that gives the lowest torque and still makes the PPT limit at your chosen DF level - this should ensure you have the highest possible BHP.

Unfortunately, my Takata with dirty oil has dirty oil that's too dirty (if you know what I mean!) and it won't make 600 with engine 3 even at max power level/max wing/min weight.

Looking forward to giving this another run over the weekend 👍

I just ran a cracking good lap (for me) chasing after a faster ghost (thanks ghostly apparition).

Lowered my best lap time to 1:45.078:)

Suitably pleased:)
See you in the Valley!

Thanks to Ridox for adding me will be giving those cars a thrashing in the morning.

I'm glad you took Stotty's advice and are immersing yourself in manual; you are showing some awesome times and you will only do better eventually with manual. Leave the TT alone, and practise first - do some races at the Ring, or some free runs, the more you keep shifting, the more natural it will become to you, and when you reach the point where you might accidentally load up a car just after your AI has driven the last race - and you start searching for gears - because the AI always drive auto - is when you'll realise you'll never go back to automatic. Playing manual puts you in charge of the gears, and once you feel how much traction, touque, and even braking is at your command, you'll love it.
The car also seems much more alive, when you drive manual.
In fact I'm getting attached to Ridox's TAKATA NSX. Taking a break from it right now, and she's such a workhorse, screaming to go after that ghost.

I'm not allowed to share my setup. Sorry.

Hm. Anybody have some loose sodium pentothal lying around?

J/K, Doodle - I can respect that.
