Do you have 3rd stage engine tune? Failing that a small amount of ballast and/or a small reduction in downforce will help to boost hp a few points.

I'll have a look at 3rd stage eng tune but was hoping I could get 423bhp with 550pp using banditKarter22 setup that was posted on page7, this setup has no balast and aero set to 35-60 and 550pp at 423bhp. I currently get 414bhp with 550pp using the afore mentioned setup but can't get any where near 423 UNLESS I change balast or aero which is not what I want to do.

I wasn't suggesting you add the engine tune as the car is faster without it.

I'll fire up my PS3 and check out what my car is at.

I'm currently at 427 hp but I have 7,500km on it, which makes the oil light show red.

I also have 38kg ballast and rear downforce at 56 instead of 60.

Ha ha, wait, my bad. I found I had 3rd stage turbo on it as I was running a B Spec with it and forgot to take it off earlier.

Without the turbo I'm on 435hp with the downforce and ballast as stated above.

With no ballast I'm on 426hp.

Incidentally I have 2 on share, the green one has no engine upgrade and is on 426hp.

Hi Dalone,

Sorry, I wasn't either. I was hoping that if I've added 3rd stage eng tune it's added loads of touque but not alot of bhp and if I removed it I could up the power of the engine to give 423bhp with out increasing the pp to much.

Unfortunately you can't remove engine upgrade once it's installed.

Meet my goal of a 2:31 with a 02:31.960 last night. Very happy I finally figured the last section out, that chicane had become my own little nemesis.
I might be able to improve another few tenths but, if not I'm pleased with my final TT. Thanks again for all the driving and setup advice.

I see the Seasonals finish on Christmas day, 25 Dec. So there may be another one yet.

They continue after that Dalone, it's just the notification through gran-turismo.com that ceases in December 👍

Oh Bugger!!! thanks for the info I should have known you couldn't remove that upgrade.

Thanks for the help

If you have a recent back-up from before you added the stage 3 you could restore your data. If your last back-up was too old and you'd lose too much, make a new back-up, restore the old data, give the un-modded car to a (trustworthy) friend, restore the new back-up and get the friend to give the car back to you.

That's a good, 'glass half full' way of looking at it! 👍 I just don't get why some people feel the need to do the cheating thing when it's so obvious...:rolleyes:
Yeah unfortunately it somehow is a must for some, with computers and games its impossible to have it cheat prove, there always will be some advanced knowledge out there, its all man made and if a man can make it he will know how to break it too. Like credit cards or online banking it never will be 100% safe. Even off line in real races people use lots of tricks to get ahead, I still think it not that bad. Because if you slow and know deep inside you can do better you will find many way's to improve.:P as long you do it out of love, good things start to happen 👍

My target over the last couple of days before GT 6 arrives and I put GT 5 back in it's box is a 2:39.xxx or better.

Using DS3/Manual and finding Eau Rouge and the last chicane the most challenging parts of the track, but hopefully I'll get there in the end.

Managed to get down to a 2:39.898 this evening :)

Going by the quality of my driving on that lap there's still quite a bit of room for improvement, so I'll probably try for 2:38.xxx tomorrow on the eve of GT 6's release.

Regards

Pipi / Jim

As I said....

How in the world did someone hit a sub 2:30 in the Suzuki without that tire glitch I've been told about? I could only manage a 2:36 on an on-rails lap... I used HMR Motorhead's car if anyone can see if the build or just my lack of pace is to blame.

He's using a tire glitch that allows him to be shown as comfort softs on the leaderboard, even though he's using sport hards.

I am very baffled about something here. More specifically, doodles lap and how he is able to go full throttle, without lifting, through Eau Rouge. I have tried, and tried, and tried....to no avail. I have tried every setup I could think of and nothing seems to help. The front end just looses too much grip trying to turn back left coming off the rumbles on the right. This is really eating at me because the one time I almost pulled it off, I was up on my ghost by .750 through that first sector, so there is potential for great improvement if I am able to pull this off. So, as much as it pains me to do this, (ask for advice from a kid  joking Andrew) how the hell are you accomplishing this Andrew? I have watched, and studied your replay, and am able to replicate your line up until I have to turn back left and then the car just gets too light in the front and doesn't hook up to the track, which then ends in disaster. :banghead: Not asking for your setup, just any additional advice you can give. Thanks Andrew.

Where is your differential set for acceleration?

18, as that seems to be a happy medium for me. I've tried higher but it didn't help much. I was losing to much time trying to play with the throttle on exit.

Thanks for the info you and Hall. What I don't understand is what the following means;

I do not know why they say that for.

Well, I got it to where its a little bit more stable through Eau Rouge at full throttle. Not crashing or spinning now, just not quite enough grip to keep from Red lapping. Getting closer though. Plus, the direction in which I'm going with the tune seems to be helping throughout the rest of the track too.

I wouldn't worry about it if I were you, just concentrate on keeping the rear end in check through there and carrying maximum speed! I had a very small lift through there on my lap and I've never taken it completely flat!

It just means that there will no longer be any viewable GT5 leader board on the website and we will only be able to see our rankings in the game itself.

Got down to a 2:35.319 after fordlaser's kind donation of a Honda and then tried a couple of setups. I was fastest in Bandit's over one decent lap (a 35.6) but I struggled to keep the rear in line so tweaked a few things and got a 35.3, with a 34 on the cars.

Hats off to those 3-4 seconds faster though! That is pretty remarkable.

Does anyone have an unmodified Nissan r390 road car they'd be willing to gift me???... I stuffed mine up by doing weight mods and now I can't set it up the way I want.

Been trying a few cars... managed a 2:36??? in the NSX LM but its a dog for the most part and I just can't get along with it... haven't managed a good tune for the GTR LM and everything else has been too slow... but I think the R390 has potential when mixed with my driving style
