One tip for hunting that fastest lap,
Only every second lap can be fast
So take wide line to carry more speed when starting the lap. I think that the speed should be 147kmh when you are coming out of the last corner to main straight.

I tried taking a wide line every second lap, but I lose more time driving the diagonal distance down to the first turn's inside than if I just stayed on the inside (or inner 2nd lane at least). The car is so slow, and the grip is so high that I think keeping it tight all around to save distance is more beneficial than getting 1-2 more km/h by swinging wide.

I'm in the .3xx camp and can't go any faster though, so maybe I'm just crap at this hamster wheel combo :P

I think that you are doing it wrong way.
On the last corner there is a yellow posters on the wall. From the second last, its after th midpoint of the corner, turn in.
Try to aim your car hit the inside of the main sraight at the yellow line that runs across the track.
So when the main sraight starts, you should be inside part or the track, carrying as much as possible speed.
For the fast lap, keep it as close to the inside as possible, last turn you need to star open the steering to gain more speed.
I tested the TT with pad, and it really easy to over turn with it. This will cause the speed to slow down.

Well seen  and indeed at each gear change they get faster. but i don't have a shifter to try :grumpy:

Plugged in the shifter and sure enough there's an # between shifts, so I guess most, if not all top times are with the clutch. I'm currently on 1:07.9 and was hoping to improve a bit more. Won't bother now.

My final time (@sdi_03 setup)

0:22.268 - Last minute top 50...
Moving to @sdi_03 setup helped for 7ms faster record, thanks for it.
Detailed driving options @ 0-8-1 helped too.
Lapped 0:22.276 without banking trackline.
Potential was 22.251 but no way to get 0:22.25x club ...

Ciao

Poor choice the McLaren P1. Very few players have purchased this car. A grx that only runs mono-brand racing ,,,About that I miss the game Enthusia.

Hold up...am I missing something? Where are the cones in my game? The corner entry/apex/exit markers. Is it only in the non-event time trial mode, an option in the settings, or a PS4 Pro thing? I'm a bit confused. :odd:

Edit: nevermind, figured it out, it's a setting...can't believe I missed that.
