Just could not let this go, even if it took over a thousand kilometers to get to the goal. Tried four different tunes until yesterday. Then today pieces started falling together when I just sticked to one setup and actually took it a little bit more relaxed. Curbs won't find you the extra tenths here, it's all about rotation using brakes and throttle with a nice smooth continuation.

First full lap today was 6:55,6 and second would have been gold already if not for a .5 penalty for a wide exit at Wippermann (which itself took a good half a second from the time). But somehow getting a 6:54,8 didn't even feel bad. The next try got me to 6:52,2 which is definitely enough for me even if there was still a big mistake there in the middle worth close to a second.

This was tough and at times frustrating, but it's what makes it the best TT challenge so far in my books.

I've hit a plateau at 7:02.145, which is 0.3s under the silver target. I've got an optimum of 6:58, but I just can't string it together. My best lap was ruined by a tank-slapper exiting Steilstrecke (the tight right-hander before Karussell) that I barely managed to save, and my best hope at a sub-7 min time was ruined when I lost control under braking for Schwabenschwanz. :banghead:

I don't know why, but I felt more "in the zone" tonight, 5 retries before completing my first lap aside. I didn't have trouble with any of the butt puckering corners I mentioned in my previous post as I forced myself to take them a scoche easier, and it paid off.

Overall, I picked up a second from my best time to a 6:55.440. Unfortunately, I'm still a full second behind gold. I don't forsee myself picking it up, but I've got one more try tomorrow (I think).

Keep pushing!!!

And another second down to 6:54.938

Just 5 more tenths, tomorrow it's do or die.

And then on to the GT-R on Sardegna C... ... Yeah, it's totally going to be a GT-R meta.

It's GT-R on Gr.4
It's GT-R on Gr.3
It's GT-R on Gr.2

And it's probably GT-R on Gr.B but we don't have many Sport races to test that out. The hard-on with GT-Rs is unbelievable.

This is a very familiar combo and one where I'm usually quite fast. I don't expect gold to be difficult at all. I will probably end up running every Gr4 car to see how many I can get below the threshold.

I'll make a bold prediction and say the Alfa will be the META.
Yeah, it's basically 3 corners and the rest is full throttle. It will be a ~55 second lap so we will have 10 million attempts each :)

I had no time up to now but if possible i want to try one or two laps at the Nürburgring tonight. Is there any "best" tune by now? Something stable on the brakes for a B rating driver?
Thanks!

The Praiano one seems a pretty good bet. Some people on here are using it with some slight modifications to cater for different driving styles, myself included.

Well that's me done. Tried a few times today and the car is now such a mess with adding bits I can't remove and trying different tunes I couldn't get to within 3 seconds of my best so far.
Which is pretty dismal and several seconds off bronze. :dunce:

It's the first TT I haven't bronzed, apart from one where I did get bronze, went away for a few days and came back to find the Aliens had bumped me out while I was gone! Oh, and that Red Bull one that I just couldn't be bothered with.

I am disappointed. It is a track I used to dislike, but grew to be very fond of. I have gold in all sectors in Circuit Experience but after around 10 tries am still silver on the full lap. I think my brain just can't concentrate for that long! After half a lap I slip into Sunday Driver mode.... 😂

Well done to all of you who got bronze, really well done to those with silver, and  to those who managed gold.

Have you tried to turn up traction control to 1?
It helped me shave off quite a few seconds from my time (went below 7:10). Didn't get me silver, but bronze is very comfortable.
