I looked at the top 1000 and could only find 4 Lancers , everyone else was in the WRX.
You might think that, but there are in fact a few GT-R's in the mix, easily missable due to the identical car name length ;)

Edit: nvm I only found one following a quick search. I saw quite a few earlier on. There's also one 155 and RCZ in the top 1000 as well.

@max351

Your replay make me confident that i will hit the 55. 30,78-30,85 first sector more or less constant. Only the last corner left to master.
So close 😭

Was just inside gold on Monday, now I'm just outside of gold (using the WRX). Just need to get a better line into the last corner and I should have it. May try a few of the oddball Group 4 cars that I haven't driven yet (like the Citroen).

57.209, about 1/10s into the gold.
Still too dangerous, but I have about 0.4 in the belt. Hopefully I will be able to put them on the road.

Last turn is still a nighmare, as I cannot understand where the apex is
I'm fastest going in wide while rotating the car not too late. Apex is blind and about 2/3 along the inside curb. It helps to ease off the throttle coming in on the right hander prior, slightly cutting the curb before straightening out while staying as far right as possible before braking into the last turn. Someone explained it earlier in the thread, which helped me a lot to find a line that works for me.

My approach to the last turn (or last 2) was to cut the curb up the hill (avoided the grass), then make sure my car was pointing fairly straight and brake at the end of the curb, downshift to 2nd and let the car take it’s time to rotate toward apex before shifting up to 3rd and smash the throttle on apex. (Going on throttle too early makes the car understeer alot on exit, and if it cause you to adjust/lift on exit you’ll lose ALOT of time on the straight).
Got 0:56.245 so far. Might try again before it ends.
@zijn maybe this helps :)

Go wide, really wide. If you try and take a normal line you understeer off or delay the throttle, broke late and wide, square up the corner, get on the throttle asap at the expense of mid corner speed.

Agree this is the easiest one so far.
Hit Silver on my first approach.
I hope I secured Gold with a 56,8 with the Alfa.
I guess the Pobric lab is near perfection.
A little strange for me is the overwhelming WRX infestation in the Top 1000 are not even 10 other Cars …I could feel a little rage by the other manufacturers about this “balancing“ 😇😅

Chances of staying gold?

I might get a chance to play tomorrow morning but otherwise we are going away on Monday morning so won't get to play again until the Monday after.

Would have got under 57 but stuffed up a bit on that damn last corner.

Wow, that's a surprise. I'd got about a tenth off my previous best using the Alfa (my previous first choice) but that was it.
Just for fun on a lazy Saturday morning decided to take the Citroen out...... and knocked just under a second off my record!
What a lovely, smooth car! Thought when I tried it before it was bit slow, but that was me.... 🤣

I was away for Christmas so didn't really bother with the Nurburgring time trial (I only did a few laps which were good enough for Bronze), nice to have an easy one this time around. I struggled with the final corner as well but it's not like I tried many times since it was easy to get gold.

I guess your chance staying on Gold is very high 👍
The math is 57.024 /1.03 results in a (under) 55.363 to kick you out .
This looks nearly impossible.
Off course some of the usual suspects don’t show up so far but who knows that for sure by all the alts.
I’am pretty sure you can relax.

I settled for bronze at the nurb and I'm quite happy this is on the easier side....after a few tries, I got myself down to 57.023...my optimal was 56.7 but that last corner keeps eating my time. I don't intend to keep going at it so I'm hoping this will be safe enough to keep the gold.

Pushed myself to my absolute limits in terms of racing, as I was challenged by a close friend of mine. We are fighting each other to find out who can stand out on top.

Currently on the 0:56:391, something I thought I would never be able to do.
I think I can still snatch 0.1/0.2, but the 0:55:xxx is clearly out of my reach and ability.

Still very proud.
