Today another session, and down to a 56.181

I really want to go to the 55 club, but turn 4 is ridiculously hit or miss for me. Surprisingly, I've mastered the last turn, just take the kerb on the right on the previous corner while coasting and try to brake while in the middle-outside line, don't turn too much (very smooth) or the car will be a handful while breaking. Stay in 3rd and you have to be really smooth again with both the throttle and while turning.

Optimum of 56.076 , so the potential is there.

Got the gold time with the Hyundai (57.2), and smashed it with the Genesis G70 (56.7). The Megane Trophy has defeated me, however. I ended up a tenth off the gold time after 20 miles.
You can brake later in the Slophy, and it loves to carry momentum through the turns.

Even so, my best in it (57.179) is 7 tenths slower than my WRX time. Our Genesis times are the same though, so there's no reason you can't get there in the Renault.

It's better to restart to drive in sunny weather. You can use the shadows on the ground as braking markers (Turn 1 and Turn 4).
This help you to keep your eyes on the trajectory. I find that it works better to memorize the braking zone

Gold should be secured with 56.8X
I have some more in the belt but I'm quite happy that I'm much more consistent.
Turn 1 I'm quite always in the TheKie25 rear bumper
Turn 2 I lose a bit, but always in the same way
Turn 3 is where I still struggle to replicate, even though I'm much better now.

The key, at least for me, is brake more, probably more than I should, but at least I can go back on the trottle better

Using shadows isn't optimal, as they move as time progresses. Or is the TT on fixed time?
not sure .... I do long runs and the lights change
but possibly if you eventually abort the lap and restart until you nail it maybe the lights are kept the same

I used shadows a lot in GTS and it threw me off on GT7 launch until I realized the reason I constantly missed breaking points were the progressing shadows. I guess it's fine when you get the same sun on short runs, but it sucks having to adjust each lap or learn entitely new for different daytimes.

You have to sacrifice the last corner to make an optimal lap so you have to restart the session again to lose as little time as possible.
This is why I specify to restart to have the sunny weather

I've found it's much more reliable to use non-changing trackside markers in GT7 (as in real life), for example the bright orange marker on the left signifies the start of the braking zone in Turn 1, the start of the rumble strip on the left is the start of the braking into Turn 4, etc. With dynamic weather and time it's impossible to rely on shadows as markers anymore, aside from custom races or lobbies where time and weather are set to allow it.

Most annoying for me in this time trail is if you pick an late penalty you ruined potentially 3 Laps and be forced to restart.
Usually I prefer longer Sessions for an better overview.

0:55.777 today with another poor last corner. I think the .6xx is possible

Thanks! I gave up aiming for gold after the first day the TT appeared. I just golded after it 2 laps with 57.105.
2 days to go. Do you think I'm safe?

57.105 / 1.03 = 55.441
A 55.440 will Kick you out .
Pobric with his 55.5xx drives in his own league there is some moving in the 55.6xx but 55.4xx would really surprise me but who knows for sure by all the Aliens 😇😀

My optimal was 56.7 and while I thought I was safe with my previous 57.023, I got a bit concerned last night after seeing the gold time dropped again so I decided to give it another go and 56.7 is what I got now. The lap came to me out of nowhere, I don't even know how or what I did cause it didn't feel like I did anything massively different LOL 😅

Impossible for me to go below 57 seconds with the steering wheel. But oh surprise!!! with the joystick and with the traction control at 0, I was able to go below 57 seconds with a time of 56: 554 !!!! Will you understand why??? 🤣🤣🤣🤪🤪🤪
No surprise for me. I'm constantly slower with wheel than with ds4.
Just bad habits from the past and anti-nerfed ds4 steering scheme. But that's my case.

Happy for your success, my friend!

Anyone got a ghost about 56.6 as I've just hit a wall at 57.1 and somehow can't get past it. The top ghosts just leave me for dust after T1. No point me following them. Not using the WRX ATM, if need be will try tomorrow, but the Audi TT I've got 57.1 but know there is room for improvement. But if could follow a ghost similar time might just get into Gold.

Hello Diablopug,

Try this...

Go to the time trial. Leaderboard. Then scroll down using the R2(?) button. After several sheets there are times there that meet your requirements.

Hope that helps some.

Regards.

Ian.
