Wish there was a replay of any user who has set a good time on this TT. Want to see the lines taken trough the fast left turns & the chicane before the final turn.

Loading a ghost of a top 10 driver isn't helpful as I need to keep in touch with it just to understand where all that user gained time. After the first few corners, the user's car is already far away.

Loved in the older GT versions where we could download & view the top timed laps to see & learn.
You still can do that? Just go into the leaderboard from the menu instead of where you load a ghost, and you can view the replay instead.

You can just view the replay of the top times before entering the time trial with you car, just pick one from the leaderboard with has an icon behind it's name

Alright did some precise testing with DRS and acceleration and (not so surprisingly) there is a small difference.

For example when using DRS on a straight line ID.R reaches 230 kmh (143 mph) 0,13 seconds faster than without. There is no difference until 180 kmh (112 mph). No difference in top speed because it's limited.

That may not seem much but if you want faster laptimes, use DRS.

Whenever I think I can use the DRS, I'll activate it but trying to do this throughout the lap is distracting.
I use G29 and the R3 button was already mapped for the DRS.. to make life simpler when I load the event I press the R3 button and hold it in whilst I wedge a small bit of plastic behind the button in a groove that shows when its pressed and it allows me to race the event without touching any extra buttons as DRS is enabled all the time ;) or just simplify and hold it down with sticky tape or blu-tac 👍

Hi,

I have been wondering about the DRS system thingumajiggy...

If you are an Alien, you deploy DRS at exactly the right moment and undeploy ( is that even a thing??? ) at exactly the right moment.

If, like me, you are not an Alien, you press and hold R3 or L1 or C4 :) at random times during a lap. During the calculations going on in your brain as to whether you release or continue to hold the aforementioned buttons, you are also wrestling with braking points. Steering angles. Throttle position. Track position. Purple sector. Ghost position. Delta time along with what the cat is doing and the wife asking what's for dinner.... You get my point I am sure.

My time in the current TT starts with a 1. This I am happy with.

Best regards to all here.

Ian.

Hi. If you watch the fastest alien replays you'll see that they pretty much keep DRS activated at all times when available. The easiest and fastest way is just keep pressing the DRS button the whole time or hold it down with tape.

Hi Ian,

I'm no alien but if it helps, I just keep DRS on where I feel it makes sense or helps. There is little precision in my decisions; more butchery than surgery.

Typically I have it on shortly after exiting tighter corners, but then release it when I get to around 150mph. It helps with turn one so I keep it on through there; same for the long left hander later in the lap. Not the early left hander after the esses; there it feels better to me with it off (I lift a little then full throttle and hugging the kerb).

I can share a video if you want.

@kowalski__1 think its a lucky frog, I also frogged mine, it's just so funny 🤣 put some extra fancy frogs on the back for the weight distribution 🤣 and ran quite some good laps with it.

Tried a few things and for me I was a little faster with ASM on and CS on low, but maby it's because I'm getting to know the track better cause it turns out to be quite an complex track with I thought I wasn't at first.

But still with al my fast laps a have big moments in turn 10, very slide happy under DRS, but I think I can be a tiny bit faster.

Time will tell, I will keep pushing (the damn DRS button)

Think I secure my gold time now tho

like many of you, I had problems with this DRS button......:grumpy::confused:
I often missed it at the exit of tight turns and as a result, I lost time and sometimes the control of the car.....
I solved the problem by changing R2 on the lever to shift gears since it is not used.
it's much easier to use this way..... :gtpflag:

Yes please, share the video. Now that I realized that DRD do actually do something, not what I was expecting but still, share the video so we can see how you do it. Thanks.

Lol,lucky froggy indeed, i ran my 1:56.8 after i put it on, but i also went into custom parts and put on the "type A" side part because it looks like it might help with downforce, weather it does or not is up for debate i guess but in my mind it helps.
I didn't use any DRS but i'll give it a try today and see what happens.
