Well I'm in the 2'03.000 club, got bronze on my second lap. Idk how I can improve though. The middle section kills my time with that double S curve part. I will have to record some runs on youtube and post it here so you guys can see what I'm talking about. Not my fav TT either but it's much better than the evil-NSX one at the Nordschleife. That was torture.

Motion steering sounds good in theory, but I just can't deal with the lack of feedback. Of course, there is no feedback with an analog stick either, but that is expected. The fact that I do the same motion as when using a wheel but don't have the complete experience messes me up.

Anyway, I'm in low 1:56s, it's probably safe for gold.

2.03 on your second lap 😀 and you don’t know how to improve ?
When I reminded correctly my second lab was more outside the track and not close to 2.10 😂
After I did the **** more than a 100 times i improve more and more.
So my advise practice makes perfect.

Ok guys.
Had to test how bad the pad is. This was first time in GT7 and havent used pad to race since GT5.

It took me 117km with idr to gold this TT. Almost 1:57.0.

So stop blaming the control device and try to learn what you are doing wrong 👍

You put me in the conversation you created but I’ll just respond here concering the time trial. Like @JasonMcDonald said above, you can’t do just two laps and call it a day and think you don’t know how to improve. The first simple answer is right in front of you to be honest, do more laps, give it some more time. Even someone who could end up in the top 100 at the end of the time trial could just as well have a slow first and second lap. You can’t seriously judge yourself after two laps.

I agree with this. I did about 120 laps over the weekend to get me to a 1.56.9**
With an optimal time of 1.55.9**
Try do about 30 laps and concentrate on 1sector for a few laps. Then move onto the next.
I did watch a YouTube video to see if I could improve my time but I'm pretty much the same. Just not consistent. Loosing about a tenth or two per sector.
Your own ghost can help rather than using one much faster. Or find a ghost a few tenths quicker than your best.
But stick with it. This one for me is easier than the GT4 one at sardagna the other week.

Most of the time I try not to use the ghost because if you see it ahead of you, you'll know that you won't improve. I usually leave it off unless I'm really stuck in a rut.

I never use the ghost, personally, because it's distracting. I'd rather have the delta comparison on if I wanna actively know where I stand. And best part is, it's not distracting, as you can have a look only when you can.
Regarding the Ghost, It can hinder or help me.
If I'm close to consistent laps with no mistakes I will turn it off, as I will be so close to it being just Infront of me. But I make mistakes pushing to try and find the limits.

I don't use the ghost myself, as I don't like the distraction, but I think there is a way to set the ghost to start a certain amount of time ahead of you. So you can chase it.

😅 Weird I almost always keep the ghost(s) on, loaded + last personal best.
That way I can see where I lost time on my previous runs, and where to gain time.

The moment I get near or past the ghost(s), it's a great feeling, and pushes me even further.
Alot of times I keep pressing the rear view button to see where the ghost(s) are at. 🤣

Most of the times i'm not using the ghost either, cause it will distract me when i come close to it,
For this TT i did load my personal best and put it enough ahead so it wouldn't distract me, and the feeling of getting closer was better then i expected, so i think im using it more often from now :)

Managed a comfortable gold time (I'm assuming) with a 56.8xx in about 400km. Got a 57.3xx for gold sooner but didn't want to stress about losing it, even though I don't think it will drop too much more.

Normally never use assists other than abs, but felt ASM made this one way easier. In particular it seemed to reduce the understeer through the fast corners. Hard to measure the actual effect over the whole lap, but I definitely found taking the long left hander after the esses flat out much easier with ASM on. Without it I felt I had to hit it perfectly and get some rotation off the kerb. Managed to get a 32.5 through the first two sectors with it on, and consistently kept it under 32.7. Without it I would see 32.9s and up much more frequently. Maybe it was just placebo though.

Nice TT once again with a unique driving experience. Don't feel the need to push it further though. I just kept the drs button down all the way through which was a bit annoying.

A friend of mine uses the same technique (two ghosts)
He is nearly permanently shifting in and out in his ghost(s)
He likes it and uses the same arguments like you 😀

For me …I go insane by even spectating it 😵‍💫🤣

I start with 2sec ahead (only loaded best) when I improve I reduce to 1.5 > 1.0 and final 0.8 .
Preventing to shifting in my ghost 👻 is my first prio .

This is THE best TT for me so far, I just enjoy it so much .. came home after long busy day and it was already late and bed time but still I decided to play a bit so I drove for an hour approximately... Couldn't make new record but surely there is potential for even better time 🤞

What section(s) is your most inconsistent? Mine is the left hander at the bottom of the hill and the chicane. If I can put those two together in the same lap I might see the mid 1:55's

MMX
Hate driving electric cars in this game. I did 1.5 laps, and called it. Ready for the next one.
I don't like electric cars in the game to, but.........

I did learn to appreiciate the VW, and as of right now, i love driving it around, it's fast, grippy and no lag, it just goes like grazy, sure it has it's flaws, but name one car that doesn't have flaws..

I turned around 100% on this car during the TT
