Did another few laps, Session E...
Had quite a bad and sloppy lap but was faster somehow.....if I look at the replay I'm almost ashamed and see somany mistakes, missed apexes, missed brakepoint, but the first sweeper was so nice 🤣🤣
I'm going to hunt for a 55 on DS4 😁😁

1:56.306 for now

You are a few hundreds faster than me. You can definitely be in a better position coming out of that right hander at 39 seconds if you are more gradual and a bit later on the power so you get a better angle for the turn in for the next left. Good lap though.

What section(s) is your most inconsistent? Mine is the left hander at the bottom of the hill and the chicane. If I can put those two together in the same lap I might see the mid 1:55's
But the thing with the left hander at the bottom of the hill is that there isn't really any time to be gained on this corner. There is only a single optimal way to take it, which is completely flat. Maybe depending on where in the corner you activate DRS, or if you lose the rear end slightly on exit, your time might differ by probably under a tenth through that corner. So the way I see it, this corner is either you're able to go through it flat, or you might as well abandon the lap.

I was talking about the left hander after the hard right at the bottom of the hill. I always try to accelerate on the shadow of the light pole and keep it close to the inside on the next one.

Got down to 2:02.1xx, best I can do, I just can't get around those U turns quickly! Good enough for bronze I think......

Ferrari VGT..... 😊
One word.......battery
🤣 if you ask me....it's only flaw, I would like to see a TT with it altho many people would hate it 🤣

True, I think if I stick it all together 55 high should be possible, but it is so weird that I had lots of cleaner and faster laps feelong wise that were less quick 🤣
Buy I'll keep trying, love the combo

Those that are struggling, say above a 1.59, i suspect you are not braking enough. It's not a normal car, there are no gears, the acceleration is WARP speed. Carrying mid corner speed is not as advantageous as hitting the brakes at the ABSOLUTE LAST MILISECOND, rotate and hammer the throttle.
I suspect this is my issue. I finally got around to trying this TT last night after a few days off GT, and damn it's an adjustment! My first couple of laps were atrocious, starting with a 2:08 and then a 2:06, but after 8 laps I'm down to less than a 10th off silver time (1:59.7XX). On my 9th lap I was 0.8s up on my previous best lap but fluffed it on one of the tight hairpins, so I know I can get silver on this one, but finding the right driving style for this is a bit of a headtrip - like you say, it's not a normal car! However, on the big, long turns, surely it's not advantageous to smash the brakes last second and hammer the throttle??

Correct. There's basically only two lines. A) Big sweepers, hug the apex and carry max speed like normal and B) Virtually all the other corners are tight so big, big brakes BUT you must make the apex and roll through it very tight then FULL BEANS.

What you can't do is brake a touch early and try and modulate the brakes to sort of half slide through the corner, it doesn't work, you're just delaying squaring the car up and with the exit understeer it has to be squared up you can't rotate with the gas on.

After a few days of trying I have actually managed to gold this one, 57.092 (which I'm hoping will be enough to hold). This is only the 4th gold I have gotten so far so pretty happy with that! (the others being obviously the two easy Gr.4 ones and somehow the Escudo at Willow🤷‍♂️).

For me I found the two hardest corners were the two heavy braking zones on two transitions between the Yamagiwa + Miyabi tracks. I found I had to brake sightly longer than I felt I needed to to slow the car down enough to hit the apex and get it rotated.
At the same time hitting the accelerator too early would just send me flying forward in whatever direction I was facing so I found you definitely need to get the car pointing where you want to go before gassing it.
It was for sure weird to get used to not having any engine sound and at first I was over accelerating as I was listening for the electric motor whine. It took me a while to realise that I was still accelerating at lower throttle inputs even when I couldn't hear the electric whine. Once I figured this out it definitely helped.

The battery doesn't last long on this car, braking doesn't recharge much. Rely on the 3.0L 1,000+ HP petrol engine. 😎

Probably because the surface is uneven on the transitions. There is a hump where the tracks meet, and you drive over that.

The biggest issue though is the off-camber when you enter Miyabi.
Yeah that but i think it's also the fact the you don't have gears in the IDr to help rotate the car so it just feels like on those slower corners that it just doesn't want to turn in at all.

Found some time to drive few laps and improved my time a bit.

Since I am Steering with Dualsense motion sensor steering I just wish Polyphony Digital could fix sensor steering then I would love this game even more, see video.

Well I don't know where it came from but I knocked over 2 seconds off my previous best on the 5th lap today!
Down to 1:59.9xx and joined the sub-2 minute gang! Chuffed! No idea what I did as I've been stuck on 2:02.xxx for ages!
Still a bronze but I'm happy with that!
