Lucky you guys who have possibility to play every day.
I haven't been trying to improve my time last few days but now I see it's ten hours left of current TT so let's give it a shot. Still I am pretty happy with my time but OPT is tempting for some improvements.

Random question: Is anyone able to see the thumbnail for this TT session on GT's site? I keep track of stuff in a spreadsheet but that picture doesn't show up for me. All the others do.

If anyone can see/get the VW picture similar to the Porsche one below and could post it here, I'd appreciate it.

I think it's broken, hasn't been there since the event was added.

Yea, I've tried on a couple different computers and multiple browsers, nothing's worked. Figured it was a shot in the dark that it might be somewhere else or someone can see it. I did a screengrab of the Sport Mode within the game so I can get it from that if I have to.

Hi all,

First post, I've been lurking for a few months! I was not looking forward to this TT given the car and an unfamiliar track to me but once I started improving and understand the car, I ended up doing quite a few laps! Not my favourite but actually very satisfyingly quick. I am new to a wheel and pedals having bought some back in early January but I am starting to get some decent pace now!

I managed to get a 1:55.509 which puts me 393rd at the moment, REALLY pleased with that! Originally I was only going to play until I got gold but here we are. Same as the last TT which I hated at first but after grinding quite a bit got pretty quick (and used TCS 1 to build confidence with those tyres shhh don't tell anyone). Optimum on my last session was 1:54.915 so I know I have more pace but no time or energy to try and hook it all up on one lap, I am more than happy with my time!

I really like the TT mode as it's semi competitive but nobody can spoil your lap except you. I've been in the top 1000 times for the past three or four now so really start to get decent pace.

I'm looking forward to contributing more to the forums and lets hope for a good new TT (and a car with a bit of character!).

Cheers

Dan

Welkome!, and great time on this TT! 👍😁

Here are the final statistics for TT 17 Kyoto Driving Park - Yamagiwa+Miyabi in the Volkswagen ID. R '19.
  • Slightly more difficult than usual to get gold
  • And somewhat easier than usual to get silver or bronze
  • Proportion within 1% of #1 was 54% the average, so more difficult
On a personal front, TT 17 was my best to date. My time of 1:55.097 put me in #157, 2nd closest I've been to #1 in nominal and %-terms (1.14% off), closest I've been to #100 (0.16% off) and best percentile finish (top 0.12%). It was also my 17th gold. That gold streak will be put to the test as I have only 2 evenings to try and set a gold for TT18 that will hold to the end, before being away for over 2 weeks. Here's hoping it is not too difficult a one.

Love that bar graph at the bottom. That's a really cool way of displaying it! The only thing missing is car/circuit (to replace the number at the bottom) to make it a standalone resource.

Yeah for sure, that's a load better! Means you don't need to have your other chart nearby to work out which bar relates to which TT. I guess the only thing (over time) is some circuits may get repeated, so a car/circuit somehow. But that's a lot of info.
In my graphic design head I'd seen a circuit map and the thumbnail of the car underneath the bar. But I think I've been spending too much time on visualcapitalist.com :D

With some long track and car names it gets crowded quickly, but here is one way to do it.

I think this one will be deceptively easy, the car is very wobbly under braking, so it seems super challenging - but with most of the corners being slow hairpins, you just have to brake when the ghost does and follow it through; there's much less opportunity to lose time than on other tracks. Once you're used to the car, I think a 51.x is fairly straightforward.

For me the bus stop is where most time is lost or gained, but I consider it my best corner in the game (top 10 in the license and circuit experience on it!) so thankfully I could pull out a good lap.

If it's super easy for you, I can only hope it's super easy for us mere mortals!

Did about 6 laps (started about 36). I have a 1:52.910. I don’t expect that to be gold for long, but I have no desire to run any more laps in this absolute PoS car.

This TT has no joy in it. It’s a ball of frustration buried inside a large pile of dung. Why Honda would have designed a car that you cannot brake in with any confidence is beyond my understanding.

If I ever need to make a dramatic exit from this world I’ll just buy one of these cars, get it into 7th gear and then put my foot on the brake. Immediate and terrifying death.

Thank you for the warm welcome people!

Looking forward to this one, I'm not sure of the choice of car/tyres either but we will roll with it. The track is one I really enjoy; it has a really nice 'feel' to it if that makes sense, loads of character. Although turn 1 fills me with dread after the trauma of trying to get round it once in a standard R8 LMS Evo.. never again
