Does PD think it's justified assigning sports tires to a car on a track that touches 290km/h which will provide the best handling & grip? I focus more on keeping the car straight instead of getting the most out of the NSX.
Truth be told, the car is factory fitted with SS tyres. I assume SS is a PZERO or Michelin PS4S.
Honestly I think it's a little bit of a boring track - almost half of the driving is just straights. It's not very engaging
It's absolute rubbish. Difficult reference points, awkward transitions, chicanes..... just rubbish.
Not sure what all the braking talk is about. Seems like a typical GT car.
I got gold on my 3rd lap. A/T with TCS1.

It could be that manual down-shifting causes the oversteer that ya'll are talking about.
Man you're doing well. I just ran a high 55 and that was with all assists lighting up like a xmas tree!

Good thing is that we only need 30 seconds to start over:
  • 26 seconds of agony just to start the lap
  • 4 seconds to mess up the first corner
After couple of attempts I got this:

Here is the lap:

Far from perfect but I'm sure it will be enough for gold. I sincerely hope I won't have to drive this car ever again.

Has anybody here driven the NSX in real life? I find it hard to believe that Honda would release a car that behaves like that under braking
Those posts are my favourite, even if anyone drove it i don't think anyone drove it to 300 kmh and braked hard also turning left, so find it as hard as you want to believe but drive any car at that situation and see for yourself.

Well it's worth asking for reference. I've driven 3 cars in real life and GT. Every time, I find that real world grip in a straight line is better than in GT, and real world lateral grip cornering is worse than in GT. GT doesn't give you as much of a perception of undulations as we see in the first corner.

We're talking about a modern car with modern safety features, you can do almost anything and the car will keep you on the straight and narrow.

This car feels like it has suspension/chassis issues in the game

Managed a gold time even with a 0.5 second penalty so even though the time will drop, gold should still be fairly achievable. There's only like 5 corners at the end of the day. Will do a few more laps to get a clean one in and hopefully a mid to low 52 should be a safe gold.

The technique i use for T1 is to have both the accelerator and brake pedal floored when I start breaking, then gradually ease off the throttle as the speed decreases, and slowly downshift, and then also trail brake towards the end as normal when I'm fully off the throttle. Maybe a bit hard to describe, but stays very stable that way and I keep up with the ghosts. Went from making it through T1 1/10 times to 8/10.

Think it's a good point that any road car would struggle with hard braking on a banked road into a corner going that fast. Not even sure it's just about the tyres, but the car is so heavy and with soft suspension too that it's always going to be a bit wobbly. Does the real life nsx have adaptive suspension so you can set it to 'track mode' or something similar and stiffen it up? Guessing that's something PD wouldn't have modelled if it does.

Either way, props to PD again for a fun TT. Nice to have a road car TT where it's about the braking, and not feathering the throttle to stop from spinning out every corner.

This also seems true at the bus stop chicane, even with the car straight it became lively under braking but lifting off the throttle slightly before braking seemed to settle the car a bit. Why, I do not know..

Other than that the car seems pretty good, plenty of corner exit traction especially in 3rd gear unlike the Nurburgring GP/GT4 combo which was just stupid (if my new GT4 could enter an uncontrollable powerslide at 60mph/100kph on half throttle in 3rd gear, I would return the keys laughing to Porsche). UNPOPULAR OPINION; this could be the most enjoyable TT for... a long long time.

I’m not going to claim GT7 is this accurate to real life, but if you have a GT4 you should know how unstable the rear is under braking if you hit the pedal hard!

You need to brake to about 20%, then hit the anchors hard

The rear end suspension is cack with McPherson struts - hence why (in real life) you have slight toe in at the rear for stability under braking

Ok, first session, as i thought, it's just getting to know the car, once you get it, it's quite predictable.
The squirly under braking is easy to eliminate by aplying a bit of throttle while hard on the brakes.
This one is far more easy then the others imo,

Missed the apex of 2 completely and drifted all over the place and still got a 1:51.674
@ 1.72% - place 587 at the time of driving.

After one session i allready love the car, you just have to get to know it a little.
it has it's flaw's but i think i like it,

i'm sure it wil hold, but we are going to fight for 2 weeks drifting the crap out of it :):lol:

"so it doesn't have to look pretty to be fast??"

1:51:7 if I remember correctly. Lots of mediocre lines through corners, so there are some possibilities to improve. But it should be enough for gold in the end.
I love the invisible wall at the entry to turn 1 which I hit at least ten times before I realized not to shift down as quickly as usual. Always being ready to learn something new, right?😆

I think the big big problem is that there isn't anywhere sensibly flat to brake into turn one, it's bad enough in a race car but in a road car capable of these speeds on those tyres it is always going to be an absolute ballache. GT weight transfer physics seem to be a bit heavy handed anyway and it is amplified here. I found I could get the car reasonably stable by lifting off the throttle for about 0.5 seconds before braking and braking slightly early, modulating the brakes all the way through.
How do you handle the shift down with this car, particulary at T1?

I switched back to auto for this one. Much easier to just have to deal with the deathtrap braking into turn 1, without downshifts as well. Solid silver.
