This is more difficult than expected. Usually I go quite quickly in the silver and use the remaining sessions to hope for the gold or ensure the silver. Now 44.8x with RSR, still bronze and struggling

I also spent some time testing other cars. The beetle gave me the impression of being good, but yet RSR is far better

Same here.
First day I posted 44.350 and can't go lower for now...

I had a decent long stint today, but managed only 1.41.516 for now, there isn't just one lap when I stick it all, one lap I'm floating in corner 3, and if do stick it, I **** up the last sector, I'm struggling so much with those 2 last corners in especially the RSR.

Made a quick video so you van clearly see my problem 🤣
This is going to take some time and cramped up thumbs 🤣

Nice clean driving man! I honestly don’t know where people find an extra two seconds round this track when I watch a lap like this… what are we doing wrong!? Also I noticed, have you got ASM on? Might be slowing you down??

Thanks 😁, but not good enough 🤣Indeed 2 seconds is alot, I don't think I can ever find that, I'm playing some with aids on and off just to understand what is does to the 911, funny thing is that I am more consistent with ASM on, and can easly drive multiple 41.6/7 laps ,CS only seems to do nothing for me here, but ASM seems to make the RSR less nerveouse, but then again, maby ill wake up tomorrow yeeeet the CS on loose the ASM and run a 41.2, you never know 🤣

Nice challenge. Not so easy for some considering aleins having some really quick laps but with some effort still doable. Having opportunity to test many cars make it even more fun. I see you guys are posting images of your cars so here comes my contribution.

1,41.675 with BRZ. So I'm more comfortable.
Yeah I spent some time in the BRZ today. I kind of hate the car. Porsche, Mclaren, etc (Just about anything else really) feels so much better but figured it’d give me a better shot. Not by much. Lol. Managed a 1:41.599, should be safe now, if just.
Tried the 18 GTR. It feels SO much faster than anything else, yet struggled to even get in the 42’s with it.

It surprising the change from the Catalunya daily race B a week ago. I was able to lap in the 1:42s there with racing medium but now we're on racing hards its 1:44.x and definitely much more of a challenge. I'm certainly not going to get gold on this one I think.

Livery updated, time updated! I'm sticking with the Jag for now...

Managed to pull my time down from 1:43.034 to 1:42.810. I'll posy the lap replay when it's uploaded, but going on the comment from @NevilleNobody on first sector time, I managed a 30.3 on this lap, so I must have thrown away the time on the remainder of the lap. There's a couple mistakes I've seen now on the replay, but overall still some good improvements. Now to work on bringing it all together properly...

I gave this a try with the BRZ. At first I struggled to even complete a lap. Then when I did, it was a 1'52.XXX. I was like, WTF?!?! How am I 13 seconds off? Then I looked and it turned out for some reason, even though I specifically changed the tires to Racing Hard, my car for some reason changed back to full Wets in the session...

Anyway, back on the proper tires I was able to set a 1'41.7 pretty early on. Then some laps later I did a lap that was over 3 tenths faster in the first sector, and I lost 3 tenths in the final sector, ending back up at 1'41.7. So now I know that I could be at least 3 tenths quicker, but I was willing to settle for maybe 2 tenths. I tried for a while longer but wasn't making any progress, so I quit the session to do something else for a bit. When I jumped back in, my very first lap back I managed to match my best first sector, then completely smashed my previous best second and third sectors to end up with 1'41.063. It's funny how that happens sometimes. You just kind of step away for a bit, and when you go back everything goes well. I'm actually quite surprised I didn't choke somewhere in that lap. It was just pure goodness. I'm gonna go back and try this with the 911 and see if I do any better.

[EDIT] I tried several other cars (Porsche 911, Aston Vantage, Jaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaag, Mazda RX-Vision, Audi R8), and none of them even came close to the BRZ.

One glaring issue I saw when I watched your lap is the right hander after the tight left hairpin, at around 1:30, you are going way too wide too early. You need to hug the inside for way longer before tracking out. You are definitely losing a few tenths there alone. Other than that, everything else looks pretty decent. In the esses right after the first left hairpin, at around 1:03, I would personally just keep it in 3rd gear. But that might not affect the time too much, and might just be personal preference.

Astounded by your sector 1 time, to be harsh, it looked absolute rubbish but a 30.5 is really not bad. How'd you manage that? I ran a 41.7 and my sector 1 was 30.5.

Good news is you lost about 3 tenths totally missing the apex at turn 5 I think it is, the left hander. Bad news is i don't see anything else glaring other than brake a touch later and exit a touch faster. Sorry man.
Hmm, honestly I consider myself being just an average driver so I don't find 30.5 first sector time being so fast actually. I will often get 30.3 30.2 on first sector. And if you had 1:41.7** lap time that means I have to improve my last two sectors. 😁

I'm not sure why I dropped to 2nd in that left-hander, I usually take it in 3rd. That was 100% user error and a moment of tiredness setting in, I think! And that right-hander at 1:30 went a bit awry, annoyingly. I think I came in a bit hot and understeer took over...

It's a really weird track, no matter the car you use, as soon as you go from 9 tenths to 10/10ths............. understeer, understeer, understeer.
Agree with this 100%. I don't know if they changed something in the Porsche or what but I just can't get that car to turn; the understeer is absolutely ridiculous. THe ironic part is the car rotates so well, which is supposed to negate the understeer!

Upcoming turn, on the brakes, turn-in, trail brake, car rotates well, hit the apex, slowly ease onto the throttle, and it just goes straight. It just feels unnatural and ridiculously frustrating. I don't remember it being near this bad back when the no-chicane was a Daily C a couple months ago.

All that being said, I did set my times with the Porsche. All three accounts are gold and I hope they stay that way as I have no interest in doing this track again.

Hi,

This so frustrating! I have managed to get a 1:41:448 here but that felt like it was on two wheels and a door handle at times. It is beyond my skill level to get a lower time. At 2.38% of gold, I would like to think I am fairly safe now.

Kudos to anyone who manages to get a gold time here because this one is, IMHO, a pig of a track / car combo.

Best regards to all here.

I tried the BRZ, old GT-R, Ford GT LM Spec II and the 911 last night. That session was so full of penalties and understeering off the track that I wanted to fold my controller in half. Zero improvement. I wanted to hack into the game files and delete the track.

So I slept on it...

1:42.180

Today's new personal best came from the Mclaren 650s. My optimal is supposedly a 1:41.7. Yeah, OK...

I had been expecting the 911 to be my go-to meta car for this TT, but, as others have mentioned, there's a ton of understeer / push on throttle. I felt this back in the Nurb GP TT, but the understeer is much harder to manage here, IMO. This tendency combined with my over-aggressiveness on the throttle made it very difficult for me to judge where the Porsche would end up at corner exit (aside from in the grass / gravel / penalty zone.)

I should try the new GT-R, but I'm still having nightmares from the Grand Valley Circuit Experience that involve white lines, cones, bollards and random, useless oversteer.

GT3 cars... :indiff:

911 understeers??? I have found it to be the most neutral car I've tried. I haven't tried the McLaren just yet, but so many other cars people have recommended in here I have tried and yeah, no. They either can't turn through the hairpin, go flying out of control going over the curbs, understeer/plow in to the turns under braking, etc.

I changed my approach for this tt. No more 10lap stints but restart from the beginning after each error.

Therefore I haven't improved my stinky overall but did good progress in sector 1.

MYSTAH 29.959 39.718 30.519
me 30.682 40.984 31.800

Now will start to dig a bit more into sector 2 and 3.
I feel I'm leaving lot of time at the hairpin of sector 2 and at the hairpin of sector 3.

If I have to choose my objective right now would say a safe silver
