I should build it up, just set it to 0 and don't look back, learn how the car behaves, it took me somany miles to get to know the 911 again, and ofcours i have made some pirouettes, I most of the time by hitting the gras on exits ) but i think GR3 cars are quit easly drivable without TCS, just get a good feeling for 25% throttle, 50% etc etc, and be gentle sometimes building up throttle in corners
Will second this. I have been trying TC0 only in TTs and qualification - if you spin, just try again. Still have it at 1 for races when a spin would matter.

I'll third this. I've been using a controller for years and once I turned TCS off I learned how to drive so much faster. It might also depend on which controls you're using - ie. I use the sticks for go/slow (right) and steering (left) and have R2 for shift up, R3 for shift down. That set-up worked wonders for me but a lot of people struggle with it and instead use the R2/L2 buttons for accelerator/brake respectively.

I only ever turn TCS on for really overpowered cars (or mismatched to their tyres) or in the rain. But by default it's off.

Gave the Barcelona gr3 time trial my first go. After around an hour or so, managed to get a gold time, but not by much. Had to push so hard, and early on I just kept making mistakes and kept retrying and retrying. But towards the end of that hour managed to get more consistent, and I did a lap of 1.41.912 in the Huracan GT3. Now I know there are many quicker than me, but I just want to share the replay anyways, just to highlight how much I was pushing, and how much of the Huracan's powerful corner rotation I had to use, to be able to be quick enough.

Maybe a tenth or two in it with an absolute monster lap, but I am still very happy. Hopefully it holds up for gold. I may try a few other cars, but I remember from before that Huracan is my prefered car on this track layout 🤔

Hi,

@samppa_944....

There! Right there, is why I would avoid this car like the plague. It looks like you are running on comfort hards! Bald hards and inflated to 90PSI.. And that is a compliment to your driving! Wow.

I'll stick with a 911 and I thought they were "tail happy" - Blimey!

Best regards to all here.

Ian.

Thanks, yeah it is a tough car to control without any tuning or setting up allowed, and not a car I would really use in a race with no tuning. But the rotation is very good, so it does help me especially hotlapping, because I tend to go very early on the throttle, which easily leads to a bit of understeer in hairpins.

Well, clearly i needed something to change here, wasn't making any progress,1:42.6xx
Time to get a good luck frog, lol,it's actually a mean lookin' frog but it worked.
Loaded a ghost with a 1:40.777 time.
Instantly dropped .400,and then pecked away at it and eventually a 1:41.894,i hope it holds!

Back home and had a quick 20 minute blast, I tried the BRZ and still don’t get on with it; I managed a few clean laps but well off the pace and gave up. I’m gonna grind the RSR until I get under 1:41. Managed to improve to 1:41.373 and sure I can get in the 1:40’s soon HOWEVER

I have decided to upgrade to a direct drive wheel/load cell brake pedal. THAT’S HOW SERIOUSLY I TAKE THESE TIME TRIALS! It’s coming tomorrow however I have a feeling it may take some time to get used to/get settings right so I may be hamstringing myself for the rest of this TT

Depending on how well it goes I may even revert to controller to get the job done 🫣 watch this space chaps and chapesses!

I'm .22 off the gold time.

I know you can't see my lap but any tips massively appreciated.

911 is my current best time.
Without knowing more details it's pretty difficult to give any advices but if I could shoot in the dark then "practice two last corners so you carry as much speed as possible in the start line". Last two corners will help you lower times of first sector, and then they will help you lower times of last sector too if you nail those two perfectly.
Watch the replay of best ranked players who drive same car as you how they are taking last two turns, then practice those two turns to come as close as possible how they are doing it.

Best of luck! 🤞

I've been having a few issues with this one, trying a few cars and hitting a wall between 1:43 and 1:42.5. But I finally looked at a couple of videos and managed to drag the 911 around in 1:41.732 after about 100 miles of frustration. The encouraging (?) thing is, my fastest lap included the worst S1 of the session, so there is room for improvement. But not today.

Had a quick 10 laps tonight. Decided to use the NSX for a change of scenery, and started off pretty slow. After 3 laps though, I'd dropped down to a 43 flat, and then when I finally found a groove ans started ironing out the kinks, I found myself running back to back low 43s. Finally cracked into the 42s, and only just missed my current best of 1:42.810. My optimal said 1:42.2XX, so I know it's capable of much more than I put together! Hmm... should I shelve the Jag for the NSX for a bit?

I gave this TT a second try, again with multiple cars, I just cannot get some of them to work. 911 is a mystery, I literally can't take a single corner properly. And I've driven the soul out of this car in daily races, but on this track it just doesn't work for me. Sliding sideways for no reason at all, against all physics logic, and understeers like a pig on throttle.

M6 is quick on the straights, stable under braking and turns well, but it's a real challenge not to spin the wheels in any gear, I had my best 1st sector with the M6 but the rest of the track - not so good, not nimble enough and too much torque out of slow corners.

The BRZ has the potential, I just have to get used to it a bit.

The RS01 is the easiest to drive and it's fairly quick, so I gave it 10-ish laps and managed a 1:41.5, but I'm sure if I give it time and hook up THE lap, I can go 1:41.0, but under that, very difficult.

Good luck on the upgrade. I hope I'm an outlier but I was about 1.5sec slower right after I upgraded to DD/Loadcell. I didn't realize how much muscle memory I had built into the old one.

And the loadcell... It felt like I woke up in Japan.

After a good week I got use to it and would never go back but it was a little demoralizing to drop so much coin and start behind.

Good luck and have fun.

You're going to scare children with that face.

Because i wasn't quite feeling very pushy i thought i try some other cars, did 3 today.

Huracan, Beetle & skyline super silhouette....

The Huracan was fairly easy to gold for me, i think if you are fast with the 911, you can tame the Huracan to, took me about 4 laps.

The Beetle was fun!, short gearing, but quite fast, faster than expected, but second gear is ONLY for rotation, don't even try to exit on throttle on 2 , took me a few more laps but relatively quick into the gold range.

The Silhouette Skyline was a different story, i can't seem to finsd the sweet spot for the turbo-lag, i was seriously quick at the RBR Time trial than, but for me, it's not realy suitable for this track

Here is my lap of 1:42:377

I struggle with these two turns:
Last right hand turn of sector 2 and the second last right hand turn of sector 3 (where the cones are). For the life of me, I cannot replicate these turns as I have done in this lap.

Looking forward to analysis and tips. Cheers guys!!

Not a bad lap!

i'm staying longer in second gear on the first corner and exiting to third, i had a little more exitspeed that way.

Corner 4 you are loosing alot here, try to ease of the brake a bit and hug the curb for a longer time than exit wide to the left curb.
( i had faster secortimes than my PB by hugging longer than in my video tho  )
you can be way sooner on the throttle there, you kind of went in to hard and corrected, nicely done, but cost time :)

Most difficult part here is 7 and 8, but your nailing that, we have both 175 km/h beneath the steel structure.
Rest of the lap you have good lines, so above is your ticket to gold imo.

So quite a nice lap with the RSR, and i have no doubt that you will reach the gold

here's my lap again 1:41.218 with the RSR , maby you see other different thinks, good luck!

So, are Porsche, Jag and BRZ still the ones to try? I have only little time but maybe want to try gold this time.
I'm stil the fastest with the RSR, but alot are with the BRZ, so i think those 2 are your picks if you have limited time,
Would go with the RSR, more fun to drive and has better sound ;)

mmm, tried to combine my messages but went wrong, is there a way to delete a message?, maby i'm looking over it, but can't seem to find it?,

Was struggling for the first few stints to even get into gold. RSR doesn't work for my driving style and capabilities. Fairly quick with the GT500 Supra now.

The shorter lower gears let me take the first hairpin without dropping into first. The turbo gives enough time to get on throttle early while spooling up, stabilizing the car with subtle feathering. Last night I finally managed to get into the 1:41s which should keep me safely in gold territory, but since the car is such a joy to drive I might give this another go later on.

Took a couple days off, so I was rusty today. It took some time, but I finally managed a clean lap and dropped half a second off my previous best. There's still more in it. Nipped @Dan_Tes by .001. Sorry, buddy...

😂😂😂 I’m not gonna lie I’m just happy to see myself on a leaderboard!!

Nice work sir, if this was a BRZ only challenge you would be over a second ahead of me I think 🙌🏽

This is what I’m worried about. I say worried; you’ve just legitimised my excuse for not going any faster in this time trial! Merci! 😂

Thanks Gomario!

So I will just have to lower my sector one times in order to secure gold.
I find using 3rd gear through turn one makes the car more stable, but i will try the second gear as in your lap.
Turn 4 is always a gamble
I seen from your replay how you hug the inside and then smooth throttle input, flat out in one swift motion. If i can nail this, I think i will be golden!
